Back by popular demand and absolute frustration, the one, the only...Me. :)
Alrighty then people, we're back in crackdown mode. Apparently, if I don't keep on forcing the rules down people's throats, they don't seem to get followed by the hordes, so this is yet again, one of Nik's Famous Rule Reminder Threads...NFRRT's for short.
1. NAME CALLING-- It's tired. It's old. And I'm sick of it. Cut it out or you'll be gone. Many of you can testify that I'm serious about this. And, yes, this includes saying someone is retarded. Be a little more creative, people. You have vocabularies and intelligence...use them. You can get your point across without resorting to names. This also shall include the overabundance of '''' that I see. Just because the software edits it, doesn't mean you need to still stick it in there. Can I get a what-what?
2. PHOTOGRAPHS-- I can't reiterate this one enough. If you didn't take the picture yourself with your camera and your film or know the name of the person who did and asked that person's permission, you CAN NOT post it on here in any form. That means you may not use the cover of one of Christina's albums in a banner, nor may you use any part of her image, unless it's a picture YOU took. With your camera. And your film. Or someone you know's film. This includes screenshots from TV or Movies or videos. Those are owned by the director/producer/record company/tv station. Not you. This also includes any banners or animations you make. Even if you scan the picture yourself, or edited it, or made any kind of funky changes to them, that doesn't make it yours. These are copyright laws, not just our rules, so obey them. Also, along these lines, it's also illegal to remove someone's tag off of a picture and republish it as your own. Tags are copyright marks and removing them is damaging a copyright mark. It's illegal. Don't do it.
3. BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHER'S OPINIONS-- How hard is it to say nothing if you have nothing but rude comments to make? If it's bad enough, MIKE or I will deal with it. You don't need to be the Brut Squad of the forum and try to beat someone down. Chances are, you're overreacting. This also includes respecting other people's artist preferences. Don't come in here trashing other artists.
4. DO NOT CALL OUT OTHER MEMBERS ON THIS BOARD-- Again, if there's a problem, we'll deal with it. If you really feel the need to say something, do it via PM. There is no place on this board for threads started merely to single out a member for something they say or do, unless Mike or I choose, for our own reasons, to make an admonishment public. Don't do our jobs for us. Let us earn our money. ;)
5. CAPS LOCK-- Please remember that this isn't your friend. Just say no to CAPS LOCK. I'm be the Nancy Reagan of the caps lock. JUST SAY NO!
