My Indy Hotel Experience with Pics

Juju is awake now. I'm putting you all on teeny alert too...

Anywho, Joy, Stacy, and Lisa (and I think Deb was up there too) went upstairs to the bar and waited to see if AJ would go up. He did and was talking to them about everything and being such a sweetie. I can't help but absolutely adore him after that. He said he wants a nose job cuz he doesn't like his nose and he doesn't like his EYES!!!!!!!! Needless to say they told him no he looks great, because he does. I met (as in talked and stood within 3 feet) AJ 4 times in the hotel and mall but I only have one picture. I didn't want to be rude. He went into the mall and we were walking behind him and these girls started freaking out going "was that AJ!?" and when we said yeah the one with a baby stroller started running to the door with the stroller, when she couldn't get it thru, she ditched it and kept running LMFAO! I followed him into the Man Alive store and OMFG the man is so frickin hot. He was trying on different hats and going "does this look good?" After he came out, he signed autographs but no pictures because of the flash and being out in the middle of the mall. He said he would on his way back so we went to the part that connects to the hotel to wait. About I dunno 40 minutes later (maybe Christa will know since I talked to her like the whole time LMAO) AJ came back and he told us he couldn't stop, I'm on the phone with Christa now trying to let her hear AJ and the man reached out and touched me. BTW Sarah was there and so is Denise. I saw AJ in the hallway on his floor (cuz we were on it too) and said "hey AJ" as in hey come here and take a picture with us, but he just said hey what's up and went downstairs. Mofo. He owes me 2 pictures and dammit, I will get those pictures. I'm sorry to whoever does not like Sarah but the girl is a complete sweetheart! She said hi to me twice in the hotel and mall out of nowhere and when Joy needed an autograph on her AJ TV guide, she had a HUGE bag of McDonalds in her hand but she took the TV Guide to the bus and got it signed for Joy. Seriously now, if that isn't nice, I don't know what is. Besides, her and AJ were playing around on the 2nd floor and in the lobby and they were SO cute. I don't want to give everything away though because Stacy and Joy will be back. And boy does Stacy have something to say to y'all :o! (oh and Stacy, YES I CAN post it if I want to, but I'm being nice :p) So, AJ is now one of the most awesome guys ever to me.

Now onto Nick, who I actually saw first but he pissed me off so eh. Like as soon as I got to the hotel, Nick walked in with Carlos and Billy. I said "hey Nick can I give you these?" (talking about some thank you cards I made for them for being so great to fans) and he said just a minute but Billy told me to give them to him. I thought he'd throw them away but I followed him into the mall with Lauren, Lynne, Deb, and the other people with us (too many names for me :p) We watched him shop in a computer games store, he was with a skinny brunette BTW. Then we went to Sam Goody cuz you KNOW that Nick will be there. He came in bought like 5 CDs and talked to Deb's daughter when she stood next to where he was about CDs I think, and went to the cashier (who had by this time freaked out and threatened death upon anyone who opened a register, she even called her friend at home and went NICK CARTER IS IN THE STORE!!!!!!!) Nick signed autographs for 3 guys and for us and said he'd take a picture with Lynne's daughter Annie so I'm like YES! A PICTURE! But then Annie ran away because she was scared, so there went my perfect picture. He was wearing green camoflauge pants and a green sleeveless shirt too. The man looked so hot he had me acting like a damn 10 y/o. After that I went back to the hotel with Deb because I was not trying to piss Carlos and Billy off (especially since he had the Thank You cards too.) We did see them sit down on a bench, can you believe NO ONE noticed Nick. NO ONE in the entire mall besides the cashier noticed Nick. When AJ came thru even the mall security guard ran to get a autograph. So that was really the extent with Nick. He was coming back from somewhere when Stacy and I were in the lobby and we said "hey Nick" and he looked at us and nodded his head and smiled in that "what up" little way. Hmm I know I saw him more than that because I met him 4 times along that trip. Anywho, flash forward to Wednesday because Tuesday I don't remember a thing about Nick. Wednesday he was wearing an orange striped shirt and was looking oh so good with spiked hair. I asked Billy if I could take a picture and he said no, then I told him I meant A picture not a picture WITH him and he told me to ask Nick and Nick said he'd be back in a minute with us. What pissed me off is we've been there for 2 days sitting around in the lobby and stuff and the only other people who did that were a few girls from Chicago that we talked to a bit and Eurotrash and her manly looking friend (looking scary as ever may I add...) I dunno, I was just kinda upset that about 20 people show up right as Nick agrees to take pics. Joy DID get her hug. I didn't get a picture of it though cuz I was standing next to her. That was basically it with Nick so eh. He did redeem himself a little bit with the pic taking though.

No Kevin, no Brian. I was pretty upset that there was no Kev because he's the one you can always count on. I don't care what people say about Howie, Kev is the nicest one. The cornrows didn't really have a big effect on me in concert either. They looked SO good but I wasn't like 8-O, I dunno why. Punch was really the only one giving us any love. He was in Sam Goody and I was like, "that's Punch" (in case y'all didn't know, I love him, he's so nice!!!) and he took a pic with me and Lauren. He took 2 more pics in the lobby, one with me and one by himself. He told us that Sleepy had brain surgery I think. You'll have to ask one of the other girls with me. I found out that night that I had no film in my camera (but the numbers were counting, so I thought there was :mad: ) so Lisa went over to Punch when he came down off the elevators and asked him if he'd take more since my film wasn't in the camera. He said yeah I'll BRB and he came back and took 2 more pictures. How nice is that?? Gotta get some love from someone right?

Umm ask me questions if you want, I'll remember the answers then LMAO cuz I don't know what to say now that all that is typed.

BTW, I got in an elevator and Marcus got in too, so I finally got to tell him how good he is looking. He has lost so much weight since Feb. If you see him alone somewhere, definitely without AJ because I'm sure AJ will make fun of him or something cuz he's a punk like that :o, I suggest you say something to him. He was so nice to me here, he's my favorite bodyguard now. You just have to be softspoken with him and ask him if AJ will take pictures or sign anything. He has his son with him too. He's too cute. I think he's around 11 or something.

Eh, I was so pissed about not being able to take any pictures that 4th row didn't make me feel any better since I thought I'd be 12th row. It wouldn't have done much good since the teenies in front of me took it upon themselves to wave their hands around during the whole concert and the girl behind me liked to reach an octave Mariah can't touch whenever Nick came by. The concert was really good, the guys danced well, Kev looked exceptionally hot, and Brian was being cute. Like I said in the other thread, Nick was being odd and slapping the other guys' butts. But whatever :o nice crotch grab and hold during NFM. I'm def getting a picture of that. Herc, Thor, and Zeus made brief appearences.

Eurotrash is a girl who has been to every city on the B&B tour and people have said she was there for the ITM tours too. She just sits there and watches the guys, and generally freaks them out. She somehow got the room right next to Nick and I want to know how. She's after that boy bad though. I think someone said she's only allowed to follow them for 2 more weeks and then she has to go back to Germany.

About Eurotrash...I've got to see the girl more than once during the Into the Millennium tour and on the Black & Blue tour. For you guys information yeah she does have contact in the backstreet camp...Billy himself. I've seen him more than once asking her to come up to him and he started each time telling her infos. She's also friedn with a lot of crew members. I've came across a few convo and I still dont get why Billy or any crew members are giving her infos like that especially since she barely talk to the Boys if never. its pointless.

I don't know what went on, but I can say that while I've always been giddy about being able to talk to the boys, sometimes there are things that just work your nerves.

Well, feel free to skip my posts when I talk about any other encounters then :)

I was all smiles and I still am when it comes to Nick. He stopped and made me insanely happy, but I'm still a little upset about some things he was doing during the trip. I'm not the only one who felt like that either. When she gets back, maybe she will speak up, maybe she won't. Either way, I'll get over it and I'll accept that it's Nick and he can do what he wants. As long as he's not hiding from everyone like some hermit and gives his all during concerts, I'll be happy with him.

Geeze (not sure if it was in this post you said I could PM you or in the other one) it's not like Howie looked at me rolled his eyes and ran the other direction, but he NEVER acknowledged us. He stopped for a minute outside of the hotel to talk to one of the girls I was with and I was going out there to talk to HER. I didn't even know he was there. He saw me and I don't remember who else was with me and decided it was time to leave. Eh whatever be that way at that point, but when he came back and saw us sitting there (we were actually waiting for Kev, even though we knew he wouldn't becoming since he was in Lex :() and you'd think he'd at least look our way. Maybe he was just hammered. Who knows? Like I said in the other post, it's just that he never even looked at us. He just kept walking by as to where AJ and Nick would look, wave, say hello, etc before they left. If I have just one good Howie encounter, there's no way I could feel the way I do about him now. But his face in Chicago has stuck with me this whole time and now with this happening, I dunno anymore. I've lost my train of thought. Off to post my hotel pictures now :p

About AJ, he talked to me and promised it twice. Am I really that bothered that I didn't get my pics in Indy? No, not at all. I know AJ is a sweetie. I've known since Chicago. My time will come where I can get pics. I was just a bit disappointed that none of them would stop when it was only 5 fans instead of 50 fans. Am I not allowed to have any feelings now?

Now, just like you don't get to pick apart people's feelings, you don't get to pick apart people's reactions. They are what they are and frankly, I'm danged glad to have them whatever they are. There is absolutly no offense intended in this post but we all know that the boys are only human. Not for nothing but the fact that you were IN the hotel in the first place is something to be thankful for since many of us will never even get that far. But that hotel is THEIR space and if they choose not to sign autographs or even say hello in THEIR space, even to another hotel guest, then that is their perogative. There has to be someplace, especially on tour, where they can just be themselves and not Backstreet Boys, someplace where they do not have to try and make impressions. Their hotels are the perfect places for that. We have all heard the stories about cocky celebrities who think the sun, moon and stars revolve around them but we know that NONE of the boys belong in this category. Not after what they have all given to us. (Ever hear them argue with their bodyguards in order to sign stuff? I have!) The fact that the other guys were so nice is wonderful but when one decides not to sign autographs in his own hotel that does not make him an a$$, it makes him human. Humans have bad days, humans get depressed and humans need time alone where they do not have to try and impress anyone! The boys have given of themselves time and time again and there are so many wonderful encounter stories, why is Howie's not signing autographs and walking past you guys IN HIS HOTEL such a big deal? Give him a chance to be just him and stop judging outward appearances!

Yes I have. Carlos said no to us and Kevin dogged him and came to us and asked us if we wanted autographs and pictures. Billy said no Nick couldn't sign and Nick sat back there and said, "I can't?!" Ummm Juju, I can just speak for myself, but I enjoyed reading what you had to say. Not only the encounter, but at least you were honest about how you felt. It probably reflects the way many would have if they were in your position. I don't think you were unfair to the guys, that's my opinion!

I wish everyone could just let people feel badly if they do, even if it concerns the almighty Boys. This happens everytime someone posts a disappointment about something. We all know how hard the Boys work, and how they are only human. No one is denying that. The thing is, they are so distant from all of us here, but we'll still come to their defense every single time, while the one who posted, usually someone who has been a member for a while, and someone who people "know" much better than they ever will the Boys, is left feeling badly about their own feelings. Do we really want to keep people from posting their true experiences here?

I guess when you haven't met the Boys, it is easier to say that you would just be grateful to see them anywhere and wouldn't complain even if they were acting like jerks.
But when you have met them, and they were kind of rude or whatever to you, what are you suppost to do? Just sit around and not say anything? I know I wouldn't be able to do that however it may sound.
Everyone is allowed to say how they feel in my mind, like Kevin4ever said, they are human, but so are the fans, therefore we can all be hurt by whatever action.

Well personally I would not hide my feelings. If I had been Juju and Howie had said that in my earshot I would have shot him the dirtiest look or if he was my favourite, started crying lol.;)

The thing is, Howie could have shut his mouth and just ignored the fans or waved but not stopped and I'm sure he would have made their day. But I personally think he was extremely rude to have made that comment within their earshot as it was totally unnecessary. They may be one of the most famous bands in the world but does that mean they shouldn't show a bit of respect to the people that put them where they are?

Juju - I totally understand where you are coming from... However - Nick will always be number one on my list - - but he looks like holy hell in those pics. He just looks spent!

I think because he's such a doll that we expect him to be this sweet little guy that we've made him out to be in our mind... I'm pretty sure that in reality he isn't. Someone made a Bob comment (pretty sure it was April or Susie)... totally agree! Man - he does remind me of a dad I knew back in highschool - a little creepy, nice, but creepy... the "fun guy dad".

Security issue - yes they do dis their security - as a matter of fact I heard Nick argue with his in Vegas. He wanted to go one way and the security guy said no (wasn't Billy) - Nick almost stomped his foot, pouted and walked away anyway. I thought it was kind of funny!

Bottom line - these are real guys! Not guys that girls dreamed up. They have their "every guy faults"! We can get pissed at them and still love them. I think it makes them even more interesting when they show their real side to us. I know alot of fans don't feel that way - they want to keep their ideal image and only hear what perpetuates that fantasy.

I've suspected and understand they are capapble of worse things than rude behavior and atuograph/picture shunning and I'm still here and a more rabid fan than ever. 3. I don't give or not give them anything. Pop superstardom did that. You deal with it or you don't. And I call it like I see it. Their tour buses are probably the only private time/space they have and not really that because of security and bus drivers. That's why they need time off.

Juju, please don't stop posting encounters. Unable to make any shows this tour, reading all of you guys encounters and concert reviews is my life line! I don't remember who (or how many whos) said it, but even hearing about their, um, "human" moments is endearing. It just re-enforces all that makes them special. They are the BSB, but they are these real live people w/ real emotions, reactions, etc... If there were no bad how could we really appreciate the good? Unless the guys were caught killing, raping, etc... I don't think there is any review bad, worse, or otherwise that could tarnish my admiration for them, talent, looks, and all.

I'm one of those folks that loves to read the encounters. I'm like Geeze, I can't imagine ME having any kind of person-to-person encounter of my own, let alone an encounter with their suitcase, hotel room door, elevator they used earlier in the day or the lobby I imagined they may have walked through. It's just too much for me to even consider.

But I read every one of these things and imagine the scenario in my head, especially the details like Howie's backside in a towel in a glass elevator and Nick in his fugly shirt. And I absolutely LOVE when you post the pictures. Whether they are of them getting off the buses, standing in a group of fans for autographs or pictures, walking through a lobby or an airport, I click on every one. I like to see them as real people in these pictures. It's like a behind the scenes peek.

So every once in a while they aren't perfect, no big deal, it's part of the peek behing the curtain. I'll read it anyway.

I think part of what caused so much hurt in this case was Howie's choice of words. No one wants to invalidate his feelings that sometimes he gets tired and just wants to be Howard Dorough, not Howie D. Like Nick said in RollingStone, when he pointed out a guy walking down the street, he wishes sometimes that he could be that guy that no one watches every move he makes and no one cares about what he does. Who knows what Howie had been thinking about before this encounter, but for some reason, he was frustrated with fame at that moment, and unfortunately, the fans who felt the brunt of that were not teenyboppers screaming for him or grabbing at him. These were mature fans who devote a lot of time, money, and energy to building up the BSB, and who would NEVER, in a million years, want to cause him to "feel like a caged animal". I think sometimes it's because the BSB don't really know how it feels to be a fan (yes, they have celebrities they admire, but it's a whole different ball game for them--they get backstage passes and phone numbers of those people), that they don't understand how important it is for a fan to get some positive recognition from them, even if it's just a smile or whatever. They face the same thing day after day, and I'm sure the fans all look the same to them, except for the lucky few who have been able to leave some permanent mark in their minds for some reason, but for the fans, that may be the only moment in time they will ever have with them, and if it has a negative flavor, that can be very painful. This is not a question of who is right or who is wrong. It's just an attempt to understand peoples' feelings all around. And let me just say that from most of the encounters we've seen, the Boys do a very good job of making their fans feel important. But that's probably why it hurts a little bit more when you happen to be the one person that day or week or month who, for lack of a better term, was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I hope no one takes this the wrong way because I don't mean to get on anyone's case. I'd just like to point out that some folks are born really lucky with great skin, while others end up with oily skin and zits no matter what they do to try to get rid of it. I think since Nick is a multi-millionaire he's probably used some of that cash on acne products and maybe even a dermatologist, and still he gets break-outs. I think he's probably just a victim of bad skin genes, and it probably bothers him a lot, especially since his picture is constantly being taken. And I know you all love him lots, and don't mean anything by it, but I for sure don't think anyone should buy him acne products, even in jest. I think he'd be hurt by that. I know people jump on other peoples' comments when they concern his weight, and I just wanted to mention that this particular thing hurts just as much, especially since in many ways, one can control one's weight, but oftentimes there is nothing one can do about their skin but ride it out.

It's like the Rogaine thing with AJ. I mean, everyone knows the guy is bald and we as fans, only want to help. Plus, he knows he's balding so I doubt he'd have a problem with it.

I think a person who denies their human frailties, such as acne or weight, would be hurt by some fan handing them something that would help. Nick even says he has a problem with overeating. And those pimples are so obvious on his face, if we could see them, I'm sure he could. If the guy is going to get hurt by a fan being generous, then I think he has some self-esteem problems. I know I'd be glad if someone handed me something for free. Just one thing less to buy.

Well, Lynn, I don't think it's a big secret that Nick is sensitive about his looks--he's said so enough--even the fact that he mentioned about his skin getting worse while in SA tells me that it's on his mind. I think if he received an acne product from a fan it would hurt his self-esteem. It makes it look like the fan is focusing on his skin condition instead of how well he sings, or how nice he is. You know, I'll go ahead and say that I'm speaking from experience, and I'll tell you that enough years of being called "pizza face" or having people who've never even spoken to you before ask you if you just got over chicken pox, DOES wreak havoc on your self-esteem. If Nick is anything like me, he can wash his face with all kinds of drying products, and a half hour later it will still look greasy. It's not because he's gross or that he has poor hygiene. He's just unlucky where that's concerned. He may smile or laugh if someone gave him something for his skin, but it'll bother him inside. I didn't mean for this to turn into a big lecture, but I just think there are so many better things that people could give him than something that will cause him to focus on his imperfections. Give him Gas-X. He'd probably get a huge kick out of that, and he could probably really use it too!

If he's not on it, he should consider Accutane. I've had worse acne than him (from what I've seen) and after years of taking stuff that only temporarily helped, my doctor put me on it and within a month my skin looks so much better. You have to do blood tests to check for liver damage and main side effect is REALLY dry lips but if you're healthy, it works wonders.

Awwwww, man! Poor Nicky with the acne! I am in my mid-twenties and STILL get acne (not half as bad as I had it a a few years ago! Thank You, GOD!)! I used to have such a bad complex about it! It's just now getting to the point where I don't have to wear a bunch of make-up to cover it up! But I STILL get it, dammit! The stuff just refuses to go away, I'm tellin' ya! And trust me, I've used Accutane, Retin-A, Differin, you name it! So I can only imagine how he feels being under all that stress and stuff!

You are still one beautiful specimen of a man, Nick! Acne and all!

Being the BSB really changes their perception on, well everything, you know? So when it comes to acne, baldness, and weight problems, I don't believe Nick feels about it as you do, Julie. Or I do either.

Who knows really, how Nick feels about his acne? I'm just making a conjecture here. You could be right and I could be wrong. Still, if Nick sees a fan, who makes millions of dollars less than he does, it should tell him he should do something about the acne.

But, goin on & on about his breakout is another. It can be hurtful. & depending on your body chemistry(sp) there may or may not be anything that can be done. He will grow out of it just like alot of other people do. I did not stop breaking out until I reached 30. & even now I still get a pimple or 2 every now & then. & No one would feel happy about a stranger handing them stride X pads or whatever. It would be taken as an insult period. Only Very GOOD friends can get away with something like that. No one on this board would like it if a stranger walked up to them & said. Here, take this number for Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers , if they were over weight or anything like that. Unless you have it or have had it, I'm sorry, but you have no frickin' idea what you are talking about.

Products that promise cures are not heaven falling out of the sky. How can a product that dries out your skin so badly that you can barely move your lips to speak work for a guy who sings for a living? Liver damage? Do you have a clue how difficult it is to use these products religiously, where if you skip a morning or a night you set yourself back 6 weeks?

Please keep in mind that many people can't help but hesitate to use some of these products because all too often years down the road the corporation that sold the product says, "Oh, sorry, we goofed, and that's why you now have ______ to suffer with, which is far worse than the original condition we were trying to cure."

Leave Nick alone. He is by far one of the best looking men in the world. Thank God he has a couple of imperfections here and there. That's why we love him so much, because he's a little closer to earth.

By the way, those of you both male and female who have very oily skin that contributes to acne and blemishes, there is a very big payoff waiting for you when you hit your late thirties and into your early forties. You will look between 5 and 10 years younger than you really are. I know what I'm talking about. If we're all still here when I hit 50, I'll report back.

It doesn't seem that bad. And I'm sure there are better ointments out there than the ones we ordinary people use. Look at Majic Johnson. Whatever medication he's using must not be what everyone else uses.

Nick probably eats the wrong foods, making his skin so oily in the first place. Eating unhealthy food is known to cause oily skin and breakouts so if he cleans up the inside, the outside will be better. Besides, he's only 21. The others probably don't have this problem because they're older... and a bit more healthier.

We all seem to have different opinions of Nick on this board but the one thing that is the same is that we all care about him.

I no longer see any printed material anywhere that suggests a connection between oily skin and diet. It could be argued that a healthy diet with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits and less fried foods leads to a healthier body which may include the result of healthier skin, but I think that the most current research still finds no definite connection where acne is concerned. I wish I could offer some web links to support this, but right now I don't have the time to go looking for them. The DrDrew.com (Loveline) site at one time had very good links on this topic, but I haven't checked back since the site changed ownership. My guess is it's probably still all there.

Clearly medical experts need to keep working on not only cures but on educating the general public about this condition.

*Yes, this arguement IS getting old, but I'm gonna respond again anyway! I'm on a friggin' crusade now*

I've been going to dermatologists for YEARS! Not ONE of them has sourced diet as a main cause of acne (in fact, in recent years, that theory is regarded as an old wives tale).High stress levels, yes. Allergies to certain foods, yes. Inadequate amounts of sleep, yes. Changing hormone levels (be it male or female), yes.

And another thing, trust me when I say that products such as Retin-A or Acane ARE pure hell. Don't even say they aren't! They dry up your skin so bad that your face and lips peel non-stop, and you have to avoid the sun at all costs (unless you want your face to get worse and the newly exposed layer of skin to burn). Plus, if you sweat while taking either of these products, your face friggin' BURNS and itches like hell (benzoyl-peroxide, which is over the counter, will do the same thing unless you use it in VERY small incriments)! Trust me...it ain't fun!! There were times when I felt the treatments for acne were far worse than having the actual acne. I'm also thinking that Nick doesn't wanna walk around with his face beet-red and scaly for any amount of time, either. Also, you have to take these products for a MINIMUM of six to eight weeks for them to even start showing any signs of improvement! And for Accutane, you have to get your blood drawn every month to make sure your liver isn't getting eaten alive. So yeah, these products ARE hella strong. And all that over the counter acne crap? Sure, it works if you have MILD cases of acne, but for some people, they just do not work. No matter what the folks on the pretty commercials say!

And don't even get me started on oral antibotics! Like my dermatologist says: "they have about a 50/50 success rate"!

You know, I know this seems like I'm taking this way too seriously. I mean, yeah, this thread was supposed to be taken lightly (hello...I know that), and I WAS taking it all lightly until someone started doubting just how serious acne really is mentally. It IS a sore subject for some of us in here. I just won't apologize for getting upset frazzled about it. Just like some people are sensitive about their weight...well, some of us are sensitive about acne. Everybody's got their insecurities. Acne is one of mine. *what's interesting is that my acne isn't NEAR as bas as it used to be, but even if I get just a few pimples, I freak out and think it's all gonna come back again* If you have a great complextion, by all means, cherish it and don't take it for granted!

And by the way, I'm a vegetarian who drinks PLENTY of water everyday. I have been that way for a LONG time now. So there goes the "bad diet causes acne theory"...

Just gotta add one more 'cause that's the kinda guy I am. ;)

1. The idea that diet affects your skin where acne is concerned went out with avocado appliances in your kitchen.

2. When someone knows someone else's shoe size, favorite color, height, siblings, girlfriends, birthday, names of pets, etc., and the other person knows none of this about them, they can either be classified as a "fan" or a "stalker", both of which still fall into the category of "stranger". I prefer to think of us as the former. :)

3. I am 38 years old, and while my face has cleared to some extent, I still have break outs depending mainly upon what time of the month it is. Someone mentioned how much we will appreciate having had oily skin once we are older and discover we are less prone to wrinkle. Maybe. Depends on how bad the acne was. Sometimes it leaves your skin looking a whole lot worse than wrinkles ever would. On the other hand, I've been carded on three different occasions in the last couple of years. Unfortunately, I attribute that more to the zits than no wrinkles. :(

4. Accutane is a drug that carries with it a huge responsiblity, and it has some major side effects. Females who take the drug must sign a release stating they will not become pregnant while taking the drug, and for several months afterwards, because it DOES cause birth defects. It causes the dryness and liver damage others have mentioned. Most recently it has been cited as a possible cause of some suicides, and is no longer recommended if you are prone to any kind of depression. You also may not use alcohol while on the drug. Nick might have a slight problem keeping up with that one.

5. I think what causes some of us who have suffered from acne to defend Nick so adamantly in this case is that too many times we've been made to feel that we are dirty and gross, and that is not the case at all. I take a shower everyday just like everyone else, and wear fresh clothes, and use whatever I can to dry my skin out. But there will still be people out there who think I'm gross, and that I'm causing my bad skin because I can't stop myself from eating fries and pizza or something. That's funny because I eat exactly the same foods everyday that my husband with perfect skin eats. And while growing up, my brother ate much worse foods than I did, and had exactly one zit that I can recall. It was such an oddity, I think we even named it. And let me tell you, he was devastated by that one zit. After living with this for 25 years now, I guess I get a little defensive about the whole thing.

I understand the acne thing too. I'm 34 and go to the dermatologist for my acne. It can be under control but one night of being too tired to wash my face can mess me up.

It does make me feel more confident when my face is clear-anyone would.

When we saw Nick in Greensboro, I saw that he had some breakouts on his face, and heck, I like that he is just like the rest of us. The makeup covered it at first, but after some sweating,you could see it(wow, just like me sometimes). No big deal. Wish we all could be blessed with perfect skin, but it doesn't work that way(hell I wish we could all be blessed with perfect bodies too-but we know that isn't true either).

I guess Nicks face will be like Howies days-some are good, and some are bad!!!
