*Cancellations and postponements seem to be all the rage
these days. Janet Jackson is the latest celeb to call off a date. The singer's "All For You World Tour 2001" was supposed to start last night in Vancouver, but due to the fact that one of her stage sets did not arrive in time for rehearsals, she had to cancel the opening date. That Vancouver date has been rescheduled for Monday, July 9, and the tour will now kick-off on Saturday in Portland, OR. Though Janet and ensemble could have done the show, she said it did not feel right giving the Vancouver fans an incomplete performance.
Speaking of Janet's Portland date, tomorrow night. VH1 will broadcast live ... three of Miss Jackson's songs. "Janet Jackson: Opening Night Live'' will begin at 10:00 p.m. with Janet's "Greatest Television Moments,'' plus live reports by VH1's Rebecca Rankin from Portland, Oregon. When Janet hits the stage, VH1 viewers will have front row seats for the live performance of three songs.
