First it was the Oscars, then the Emmys. Now, a Las Vegas oddsmaker is trying to
predict who will win MTV's video of the year honors.
Joe Lupo, race and sports book manager at the Stardust hotel-casino on the Las
Vegas Strip, has "Lady Marmalade" as the 3-2 favorite to win the honor at the MTV
Video Music Awards on Sept. 6 in New York.
"Lady Marmalade," a remake of the 1974 LaBelle hit by Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim,
Mya and Pink, appeared on the "Moulin Rouge" soundtrack. It edges out U2's
"Beautiful Day," which Lupo placed at 2-1.
Odds for other best video nominees:
4-1: Missy Elliott's "Get Ur Freak On."
5-1: Janet Jackson's "All For You."
10-1: Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice."
15-1: Eminem's "Stan."
Nelly's "Ride Wit Me" is the favorite for viewer's choice at 2-1; best male video, even
money; and best rap video, 5-2.
