Two planes crashed into the World Trade Center (New York). First, one plane went into one of the towers then the news cameras caught the 2nd plane crash into the tower.

This can not be an accident. I just don't see how.

I think they said roughly 15,000 people work in the towers. The first one crashed at approx. 8:50 am EST, the next 18 minutes after. I work on an AFB, military installations are going to lock down. I remember when I was stationed in Georgia and we were executing bombing attacks a couple of years ago; the traffic to get onto the base was unbelievable. They checked every car, everyone for DoD (Dept of Defense) decals on their cars and their military ID cards.

The US is not seen as a super power, when we didn't get Saddam it simply opened everyone elses eyes. I get so sick of people not supporting the military and criticizing its' actions.

Prayers! People we are in crisis! Everyone, take a moment of silence and pray! WE don't know what is going to happen next, we need to be prepared. Pray for the families of the many victims in the planes and building, this is only going to get better before it gets better! We are going to, in the end of the day, have lost a great many precious lives. Pray for the people who might not have past yet, and pray for those who have already been taken to have a safe trip to heaven.

This is the first time i have ever realize that I valuable my life and the air i breathe. I realize how many people had died and I feel bad for what happen. How cruel can a person be doing this to innocent people? How many little boys and girls have to realize that they dont have a mom or dad to come to? This attack that the terrorist did on this day. September 11, 2001 will never be forgotten. This thought is in my head right now and will never be forgotten. For all the people who risk there lives, they dont deserve this. Whoever is responsible for this terrorist attack.. Why did you do this?

Whoever is responsible should be dealt with and I have no pity or mercy on there soul.

This is unreal.. We were let out of class today.. There was a plane crash here in the Pittsburgh area in Somerset Co. So pretty much anything in this city is being shut down. The larger buildings in the downtown Pittsburgh area are being shut down, many local Colleges are being shut down, and I think high school and grade schools are being let out as well..

They even shut down roadways downtown, the tunnels have been shut down, bridges have been shut down.. The traffic just on the road home from class today was unbelivable.. I have never seen such traffic in the school area.. I can only imagine what it must be like in NYC, DC, And downtown here.. I prayers go out to everyone right now..

World reacts:

THERE HAVE been the most terrible, shocking events taking place in the United States of America within the last couple of hours,” Blair told union leaders in Brighton, southern England. “We can only imagine the terror and carnage there and the many, many innocent people who have lost their lives.”
Blair, who had been due to deliver a key policy speech, cut short his visit and said he wanted to return immediately to London to monitor the unfolding events.
He sent his deepest condolences to Bush and the people of America.
“This mass terrorism is the new evil in our world today. It is perpetrated by fanatics who are utterly indifferent to the sanctity of life,” he said.

Russia’s Putin described the attack as a terrible tragedy, according to Kremlin spokesman Alexei Gromov.
France’s President Jacques Chirac, in a live televised address, condemned the attacks as
“monstrous” and expressed his solidarity with the American people.
“France has just learned of these monstrous attacks — there is no other word for it — that have hit America,” Chirac said from Rennes, in the western region of Brittany.
In Berlin, Foreign Ministry officials huddled in a crisis meeting, and Parliament’s vice speaker vice speaker Anke Fuchs told lawmakers a “terrible catastrophe” had happened.
Virtually all German TV channels switched to live coverage. “This is pure mass murder,” one commentator said.

Germany’s Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder convened an unprecedented meeting of his security council and air traffic authorities said all European flights to the United States had been suspended.
The council meets rarely and is the government’s main body in times of crisis. Besides Schroeder, it includes the foreign, defense and interior ministers and several others.

MIDEAST REACTS
Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and his top aides followed the events at his seaside office in Gaza City, gathered around a TV set.
“We completely condemn this serious operation. ... We were completely shocked. It’s unbelievable, unbelievable, unbelievable.”
An anonymous caller told Abu Dhabi television earlier on Tuesday that a radical Palestinian group was responsible for the attacks, but the group later denied any involvement.
Israeli Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer told Israel’s Army Radio it was “simply a tragedy.”
“I sympathize with the American people,” he said. “It’s simply a terrible thing.”
In Brussels, Chris Patten, European Commissioner for External Affairs, said:
“We are all watching events with absolute horror. Our prayers and deepest sympathies go out to our friends in the United States.”

I couldn't believe it :( I'm not even anywhere close to New York (i'm swiss), but i've been to NY a few years ago and i've always dreamed of living there someday.
I've been watching CNN for about 5 hours now and i'm still so shocked :(

I am very sad, and kinda afraid. Here in Puerto Rico they evacuated all federal buildings and some government buldings. Roosvelt Roads (the biggest U.S. Navy base) here received missile attack threats, but nothing really happened, thanks the maker. I got off from college today.

I am sooooo sad, and worried. I have 2 friends in University of Manhattan. I talked to their mom earlier today and she told me they were all right. I'm still trying to call them but phone lines are occupied up there in NY. It's understandable, and at least I know they are all right. My friend Raisa was in the subway when the first airplane crashed and they stopped the subway and took everybody out and explained the passangers the situation. The mother of my 2 friends told me they are horrified, but they are back in campus in the residency and at least they are all right. But I sooo wanna talk to them and make sure they are all right by myself. I wanna confort them and make them feel good. I also have a few relatives in Manhattan and we haven't heard anything from them... Today is a horrible day for the planet.

I was in english and Kendra (one of the aides) got a phone call and then she announced to the class about it. at that time, only 1 tower had collapsed and the Pentagon was hit. I thought the pentagon was more serious than the WTC, but then I saw the news, saw the 2nd plane crash and the collapse of both towers. We had a special homeroom today to discuss it and the teachers had a falcuty meeting today

to make matters worse the school my dad teaches in had a code red alert today because there was a suspected bomb threat. however, nothing happened, thankfully, and they figured it was just someone who wanted to make situations worse today.

::sigh::

I got a text message on my cell phone this morning, and then when I got to work, it was a state of chaos because our headquarters is in the World Financial Center across the street from the World Trade Center, so they completely evacuated our headquarters and subsequently sent us home at noon after we couldn't efficiently conduct business today...

I skipped school today to go to NJ before I even knew about any of this! But then when we were ready to go, we saw the news reports and all the bridges and everything were closed! No one could get in or out of the city! It was scary especially because I was watching it live. We all started to call family and friends but we couldn't get a hold of anyone because all the cell phones were cut off and all the phone lines were busy. I'm concerned about my cousin because she lives REALLY close to there. You can see the towers and that whole area from her balcany so I hope that she is alright! I also have alot of family and friends in that area and I hope everything is alright with them also. I have been trying to call my dad all day and I STILL can't get a hold of him:(

Hey all, I just got home from school. I've never heard our school so quiet before, we all watched it on TV first period then school officials decided we were getting to freaked out hearing all this stuff and putting scary thoughts in our heads. We were all freaked out about terrorists because our town just happens to sit in between two major nuclear sites. I think you can take it from there :(

This is so so so horrible :( It's so scary. I can't believe it happened. I hope that they catch whoever did this and kill them!!!!!! I'm usually against the death penalty, but this is too much  I hope they die. I really dont' want to go to war. This is so horrible, so many innocent people died from those damn terrorists :( :( Why did they do that?? But I know that we can overcome this.
My uncles live in Manhattan, and we couldn't get ahold of them but we figured they were alright since they're never downtown so early. But then one of my uncles called and said that my other uncle was downtown!!!!!!!! He is okay, but he couldn't get home cuz the subways are down. My cousin is supposed to fly from SFO to New York on Friday, but I'm scared for her to go!!!
I was supposed to go to San Francisco today for two doctors appointments, but we didn't because my dad thought it would be better if we stayed out of the city. During fourth period today we heard airplanes flying outside, and we were SO freaked out cuz we thought that it had to be a hijacked plane crashing in SF since all of the planes were grounded!!!! It turned out to be military planes from the nearby air base, but it was really scary. Good Morning America was at my school since they couldn't return to NY today and three of my friends might be on!!!!
