We will have to delay the DVD party for a week or two. Sorry about that, but oh well!

We will reschedule!!!

Sure I sign up to go to one of these things and they have to "reschedule" I can take a hint.

jbe - you've got Hummer and I talking about a roadtrip already! It's only about a 4 hour drive for us. We just need it to be on a Friday or Saturday night. Did I mention my birthday is November 19? I'd love to celebrate it with tramps! You don't want to disappoint a Wild Woman on her birthday do you?!

Hummer
Oct 10th, 2001, 01:15 PM
O.K.; Wisconsin, it's time to hold a Midwestern WWA chapter meeting in your great state! Rumor has it the DVD has been pushed to 11/13. Whatta ya say jbe -- party on the 16th? It's been too long since I've had a chance to party LIVE with some Live Tramps -- sit tight take hold...!!!

Hummer

Do you have any idea what you've started here jbe?

We have an ok from the owner of the bar for Saturday, Nov. 17th. So... that is the date we are going to shoot for... say sometime around 8 pm. By the way... this same bar has the best Sunday brunch around. I'll post the details within the next few days.

ALL OF THIS ASSUMES THERE IS AND ACTUAL DVD TO WATCH!!!

Otherwise... I suppose we could sit around and watch each other.

Don't sweat it jbe! I've got a bunch of Bruce videos! So even if the DVD isn't out we would have Bruce to watch. Just make sure the bar has a vcr too. I think this will be the first Midwest BAT!! Time to start beating the bushes and see who else can come. Incident, can you get ahold of Twig? Where's obsessed? Maybe Mare can roadtrip with us. And LJK, have you met growing young? She lives in Mpls too. Like Hummer said, do you have any idea what you started?! Thanks so much for doing this on a weekend! We'll also need hotel info.

Robinia, you're right --- Ice did move to the east (south?) don't remember exactly where but I know he's not in Wisconsin anymore.

This is tempting me too, but just thinking of that cold weather in November is putting stoppers on any plans. LOL

Hummer
Oct 11th, 2001, 05:37 PM
PJ!!! Don't tease us like that! Of course you have to come, O Lime Queen! What's a little weather to a Wild Woman? Besides, that's early in the season -- the weather shouldn't be a big deal yet... (famous last words!) Think of it this way -- since you don't usually need cold weather clothes, it's a perfect excuse to go shopping Saturday before the show starts. How about a little Midwestern/cold weather matchy-matchy?

Tempting, tempting...

I know the TV weather people and I have talked to them about November 17th. I suggested that sunny and 75 would be nice for that day. They said they would see what they could do.

Besides... we're having the party and watching the dvd... umm... INSIDE!!!

Driving through the Wisconsin night...

Sorry, I had to use that line. Sounds great! On a Saturday night, more people should be able to make it. Ice is down in NC last I heard. He gets around so it's a possabilty...

The weather has been great lately here but that could change. November is not bad, just not as nice as Sept, Oct...

robinia
Oct 12th, 2001, 06:49 AM
double-click! Does that mean you'll be there?!

Oh PJ, you have to come! If I can talk Lonestar Girl into coming to Mpls in November (and you were with her!) you can do it too! You could fly into Cedar Rapids and road trip with me and Hummer! Just think of it - a Wild Woman Road Trip! Sounds like a movie! Oh yeah, I guess it was done in Thelma and Louise! But I'm sure ours will have a better ending! I'm also trying to get doc to come, if that's an open weekend in his tour schedule. And BubbaSue lives in Mpls so we'll track her down. And obsessed (did I mention I'm in the 6th row!) and since 78 are in Michigan, they should be able to come. I'm telling ya, it's going to be the first Midwest BAT. And jbe knows important people so I'm sure what he says about the weather is true. And if not, I have a 4 wheel drive truck so we'll get there no matter what!

WWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Hummer and Robinia - oh you two are too tempting! I actually went to price airfare and well ....... its a little high right now and out of range for me, especially for a weekend trip. Tried flying into Cedar Rapids, Madison and Milwaukee - think I'd get there after the party was over! LOL - three transfers! I know you'll do the WWA proud. Hummer - keep Robinia off any and all roofs!

Oct 12th, 2001, 09:57 AM
Now Peej, don't give up just yet...

If you fly into Cedar Rapids, you can drive up with us. If you fly into Milwaukee, you can drive over with Incident (I'm sure he won't mind that I just volunteered him). AND...how about flying into Minneapolis? There's a group driving over from there. That might be a cheaper flight.
We want to see you! But, I understand about the budget thing -- I couldn't do this either, if I wasn't driving.

If it doesn't work, we will be sure to have a toast in your honor -- not to mention the rest of our CA Sisters! Oh, and I promise to keep Robinia off the roof, if you'll promise to not, umm.... "hide" the limes! LOL

O.K. Wild Women -- where are the rest of you? Out making plans for your trip to Wisconsin? I hope so...

robinia
Oct 12th, 2001, 10:17 AM
PJ - you can also try Moline, IL. It's only an hour from Hummer and I and, unlike Andrew, we will not complain about having to come get you!

How bout our Southern Sisters? Anyone else want to join us?! So far doc has been quiet, I think he's afraid! I think Louis and Blue need to come too! The Wild Women miss them!

Incident
Oct 12th, 2001, 10:48 AM
Whoa, hold on here a minute. It will be virtually impossible for me to get that weekend off. The best that I might be able to do is work early on Saturday and late on Sunday, in which case I would drag my happy butt out to Middleton for a party. Hope to see ya soon.

Sorry Incident! Forgot you work weekends! You know the Wild Women want you there but will understand if work gets in the way (hate when that happens!).

LJK
Oct 12th, 2001, 11:51 AM
Incident, isn't that what calling in sick is for? Unless you're saving those sick days for a tour, which I understand.

Hey PJ, what about flying into Chicago and renting a car? That might be cheaper, and from O'Hare to Madison is about 2 hours I think. Or you can fly to Minneapolis and ride with me, which might also be cheaper (but I'm thinking Chicago would have the best deal).

Louis the Goose
Oct 12th, 2001, 12:11 PM
how long a drive is it from Madison to Chicago anyway ???

HONK HONK HONK

Incident
Oct 12th, 2001, 12:27 PM
Louis,
It about 150 miles from O'Hare to Middleton taking in to account bad traffic around O'Hare it should take less than 2 1/2 hours.

Unless you take the Red Headed Woman route with a promise of a 90 min drive. Turning it into 'bout 3 hours instead.

robinia
Oct 12th, 2001, 02:14 PM
Louis! You need to fly into Moline or Cedar Rapids and then roadtrip with the President and I! I'll even let you ride in my pocket! Don't make the President summon you! And bring Kman, we might need to trade him for something!

We are pulling some strings and working on getting PJ here. Would Louis rather fly where it's convenient and cheap or would he rather roadtrip with several chapters of the Wild Women? HHHMMMMMMMMMM.............tough choice!

Hey all. Yes Double... I do "get around" as you put it. It's my job. I live in SC now, but I have been working here in Minneapolis since since April 3. I was planning on driving home for the winter on Nov 14th. Well plans are meant to be broken. Now I'll plan on heading home after the DVD party. Count me in! Write my name in pencil though, cause my job could make me leave earlier. Thanks LJK and Double for the heads up on the thread!

jbe
Oct 12th, 2001, 09:58 PM
Flying into Milwaukee and need a ride? We'll come and get you and then take you back on Sunday.

Need a ride from Chicago or Minneapolis? We'll find a way. There is always a way to get to Middleton.

The posters advertising the DVD are already up in the bar. A local radio station will get involved with promotion real soon... AND... we're getting some tee-shirts!!!

There is no reason not to be there (unless conditions of your parole prohibit you from leaving your state!).

Again, you can email me at lohad128@hotmail.com and we'll find your hotels and anything else you might need... including cheese!

Jon

p.s. We plan on MIBing people that night, so get there early!

I don't know what happened to my post, at one time there were 4 pages of posts on this thread, and I was shocked that anything with Wisconsin in the subject line would draw that much attention. The only people on this board I knew were from WI are Incident and double-click.

As an expatriate of the Badger state I am very pleased to see that you all are putting together what looks like a must-do event. Unfortunately, I have Thanksgiving travel plans in the opposite direction the following week and it would be difficut to make the trip.

Some of the missing posts mentioned a lot of things that brought back memories of growing up in Wisconsin, and I decided to add a few --- Badger and Packer football, cheese, nachos (with jalapenos), kringle, beer, cheese, Johnsonville Brats (grilled out - not the McDonald's sell-out!!!), bowling, cheese, wild women (imported and local), corner taverns, Real Chili, brandy, ice fishing, cheese -- all things that are part of any party in Wisconsin. However I never got into the cannibal sandwiches, so pass on those.

My two recommendations were to have Incident or dc to bring some Real Chili from Milwaukee and to have anyone travelling near Racine pick up the kringle from a local bakery. Everyone be careful of the local wild women - their men will be off deer-hunting. Imported WWA are preferred.

I would love to make this party but my relatives would track me down and make me visit them instead. If I brought the family I would feel guilt about not using the time for them to see our kids, especially since we are visiting my wife's family for Thanksgiving this year. This sounds like a great event and I will keep it in mind. You never know.

maybe a webcast?

Have a great time!

Mark

Every forum lost posts from 2am Tuesday until the new board opened. What is strange is that we also lost an entire page of cheesehead posts. Apparently there is some sort of problem with cheese transferring from one board to another that the techicians didn't anticipate.

Well I be one confused duck people keep mentioning places
called Cedar Rapids, Moline, Milwaukee, Chicago and Minneapolis (my home town!) but aren't some of these places technically
in canada because unlike Louis i'm not a canadian goose and therefore can't get into them.

Also isn't it odd that all the flights from here in NJ either go through St Louis where I first met the midwestern WWA or
Kansas City which is not in Kansas as Mr Incident now knows

Where is that Doc guy maybe I can fly to Denver and road trip with him from there?

It would be so good to share a shot of tequila with you again, please hop on a plane and meet us in Madison. Or, fly to Cedar Rapids, the President and I will be more than happy to make another trip to the airport to pick you up! Think of the family reunion we'll have! Doc, WWA, PJ, Louis, Blue and tequila! Ann! It's at a bar that's in a suburb of Madison (okay, somewhere there's a thread that gives the info, let me find it...)

The DVD party will be Saturday Nov. 17th starting at 8 pm.

The location will be at the Club Tavern in Middleton, WI. Middleton is a suburb of Madison. It's about an hour and 15 minutes from Milwaukee, 2 hours and 45 minutes from Chicago and 4 and a half hours from Minneapolis.

Local tramps are hosting the event and we are asking for food donations for a local pantry.

The Club Tavern will have all TVs, including the large screen on the wall set to play the DVD. The sound system is well... loud and clear. It will be as if we are at a show.

I can hunt down cheap but nice hotel rooms if need be.

**ALSO.... The Badgers are playing Michigan at Camp Randall that afternoon. Anyone want to go? We can have a Springsteen tailgate party complete with brats and all the fixings and then head off to the game.

You can email me at lohad128@hotmail.com if you have any questions about the party or the game.

Hope to see you there.

Anybody hear from growing young any more? I think she was from Mini-soda pop somewhere. There are a few others that I can't remember any more also that might be out there still. Hey if PJ can make it from the west coast...

I might just bring a friend with me also. He was an old Bruce fan from way back. It's funny when I asked him if he would like to go and he didn't even have to think about it! Then he proceeded to show me that he had most of Bruces old classic albums: BTR, Darkness, River, Nabraska & Live '75-'85. Beleve it or not I don't think he had Born in the USA. I say that because most every one had that album. He said his favorite was probably BTR. I said, yep, me too.

Say it's alright! (It's alright) to have a good time!!!!......

OK... Just an update...

We have notified local authorities that DOC will be on hand in Middleton and will be taking up a collection for bail money, just in case.

I have all the malls mapped out for Robin.

We will have plenty of cheese, however, too much at once is a bad thing... eventually.

We will have a guy walking around before the show with wristbands... DON"T APPROACH HIM!!! Just stay in your seat and he might come to you.

Finally... the party will be on a Saturday night, so please keep in mind that "playing" with the farm animals is a felony in the great State of Wisconsin!!

I will be sending hotel info on Monday to those who have contacted me.

The Badgers/Wolverine game should be pretty good, depending on which Wisconsin team shows up.

This promises to be a great time.

Again, my email is lohad128@hotmail.com if you have any questions.

The time for the Wisconsin/Michigan ghas not been set yet. We are looking at either 11:10 am, 1:05 pm or 2:30 pm. It all depends on TV.

In addition to getting the tickets, we will try and arrange transportation to and from the game and to and from your hotel and the Club tavern.

The ticket prices are around $27.00.

The tailgate party will be nothing but Bruce music, brats, cheese and beer.

Have emailed Ann to see when she is leaving MPLS and on what means of transportation she will be taking from the state where the football team beat the cheeseheads to the state which has a team that lost to the purple team ....

(btw if she flies does a duck count towards the one carry-on limit?)

airfares appear cheaper into minneapolis than those other airports you mentioned and going via MPLS would allow me

Speaking of ducks, don't they have wings? Can't you fly yourself to WI? Why do you need a plane? I'm sure the wind will blow you in that direction.

ok ok ok !
i wouldn't mind carpoolong with people.
i can organize it, if you want.
just send me your name and how many people you'll be bringing.
i'm gonna check into a "limo service".
we could all meet at my house. i am on the way to wisconsin and within a stone's throw of I94.

my car would make it no problem, but it's only a 2-seater.
my onlky fear is that there'll be a storm that day.

Many thanks to everyone for your help with airfares. Sorry, Ice, I didn't get your pm 'cause the board says my box is full. Go figure. The link now says the fare is $278.

So let me get this straight: It costs around $300 to fly into an airport that's four and a half hours away from the bar? I'll have to let PJ try and talk Bump into that one.

Sorry, but we'll be an itty bitty maybe until the last minute. Just too much work right now.

Party on, cheeseheads! :D

"Don't worry Blue, I don't think ducks count as farm animals!

Speaking of ducks, don't they have wings? Can't you fly yourself to WI? Why do you need a plane? I'm sure the wind will blow you in that direction."

I don't know if you should fly, Blue. When is duck hunting season over?

Ann, I have what is technically a 4-seat car, but if you ask PJ and Lonestar Girl, they will tell you it isn't a good ride in the backseat for more than, say, 3 minutes. On the plus side, it's a 4 wheel drive!

Nicki is riding with me, but it might be okay for one person to sit in the back if they aren't too tall.

Unfortunately the FAA still has single-engined planes and ducks grounded here in the great state of New Jersey so I cannot fly myself to Wisconsin so I need to rely on the commercial airlines
Also at that time of year (mid november) i'd need to worry about some in-flight deicing when i'd rather be worrying about in-flight tequillas!!!

Along with the two goats and Louis I still consider myself one of the original farm animals in Doc's menagerie before the arrival of
the st bernard, the tiger and the trojan horse!!!

Blue - it will be deer hunting season - not duck hunting. I can't help you with the FAA until I learn what in the h#/% deicing is?

I have just now realized you meant de-icing. No problem -- the FAA allows flights that originate or terminate in WI to use a variety of coloured liquids in the de-icing process. You are running out of excuses. Damn, I thought I was going to learn a new word today.

HOTEL INFO...

I talked to the Marriott this morning and there is no discount for blocks of rooms because they gave us the lower rate to begin with.

So... I still think it's the best deal. Great hotel for $89.00 a night.

Also... let me know if you need rides to and from the airport if you are flying in.

VP Robinia cruised over and we made an Executive Call on the presidential/Wild Woman phone to the Tour Director. And I am pleased to announce....

The official Tour Director -- Tour Director Extraordinaire, Tour Director to Wild Women Everywhere is on board for Madison!

That's right -- the illustrious Andrew D. Wicks is roadtripping w/ Hummer, Robinia, Doc and PJ to join the gang on the 17th!

WOO-HOO!!

See you there...

P.S. Did we mention who was in the sixth row? Yes -- Obsessed, we mean you -- will we see you there too?

BTW - jbe - that $89 dollar rate is offered thru Orbitz and Travelocity and usually one or the other has the lowest possible rates IMHO.

Can someone please keep the snow away. It"ll be cold enough without that white stuff!

PJ

Received a call around 8pm eastern from the presidential mansion in Iowa, spoke to the VP who asked me to look out the window and there out on the street was a car with INS markings on it - seems that the Pres knows someone in Iowa law enforcement who knows someone who knows someone who...
so obviously the message was clear come to Iowa or else!
[I'm hoping that the Pres can get my visa expedited by the canadian embassy so I can actually get into Iowa)

Anyway I took a look at the route from Iowa to the bridges of Madison County where we are going and I see several branches of OzarkLand on the way so we should have no trouble finding things to spend the Doc's money on!

Also found some quaint little tourist spots where we could stop
such as a Picturesque Luxembourger Village (Dubuque IA) a Swiss
Historical Village (near Madison WI) and two places named after our favourite waterfowl Villa Louis and blue Mounds so this will
be a roadtrip to remember

As the VP always likes to say "be Afraid, be very Afraid"

I'm impressed, really impressed that this thing is getting this big. Wait until the thing is over. What stories will come of this...

Andrew, since you are the tour director for the WWA, I can tell you a couple other worthy places to check out if you have time. Well let's see, if your looking for another swiss village go to Monroe, WI or another small town on the way called New Glarus. Blue Mound State Park is pretty nice. Or if you looking for something unique, visit "House On The Rock". It is amaizing. The biggest tourist town around there is Wisconsin Dells and Baraboo but they should be pretty quite by November. If you would rather stay at one of those hotels with indoor waterparks, the Dells is where to find it. There is a cool ferry boat that takes your car across the WI River near Baraboo. Ya, how can a ferry boat be cool? Well it is something different... If you want to tour some wilderness areas, you can go north about 1 hour and there is an Amish area. (no Amish jokes please). If you go west of Madison there is some of the biggest hills around that part of the state, pretty country.

As for Blue the waterfoul, the state is perfect for you! There is one of the biggest marshes in the state about 1 hour northeast of Madison called Horicon Marsh. Watch your step out there, it could get a little slippery ;) There is even a trail up there called "Wild Goose Trail". Wahooo! I'm tellin' ya man! It's a birds paradise! ;)

Lemme think about it. And think about it. I have checked airfare into Madison. Not as good as I had hoped for. Chicago would be cheaper but then there is the drive.

I still haven't seen a date for Nashville - those wild women just might show up in both places. I do not know from personal experience but I have heard that those tour directors and farm animals often get misdirected. Then there is that towing company that just might haul them from one party to the next. I think they have the required interstate transport permits.

I remember the faces and conversations, I even have pictures, but I can't remember names. Must be my short term memory loss due to too many concerts. Anyway, I hope some of you will be at the DVD party.

There was a couple others at Legends in Milwaukee to but can't remember names. I just remember when I saw Piwi walk in with her banner I knew it was her.

To the WWA: It's funny to me that you call it WWA because we call our 2 cats WWFF : World Wide Feline Federation. We could sell front row seats to watch those 2 sometimes... "And we'll sell you the whole seat but you won't need it because you'll only use the edge!..."

Hey! Has anyone thought to call Bruce? Maybe we can get him there! Bruce, if you're reading this, please come to Middleton, WI for a party in your honor!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Robinia -- Falstaff??? I haven't seen that in ages, if it still exists. Twenty years ago you could have picked up a keg from the brewery as you drove down I-94, alas the brewery is dead and gone. I believe the beer of choice in Wisconsin these days would be Leinenkugel's (or Leiny for short). If you want Bruce to show you'll need to consult your companion the doc --- he has been known to hang with Bruce recently. I think Bruce decided against playing MSG last weekend so he could watch the Yankee game with doc. I guess if you can pull that off I could find a way to get there. :D

Just happened across this poem about Tim the diehard Packer fan. I wonder if he will show up for the party?-- he is from Sheboygan. Here is the link -- I heard it on Bob & Tom this morning. Please don't hold that against me.

Yo, it's Bo.

"sheep of faith?" Shearly ewe kid, Ramrod Dolly!

I know, I know, it's herd to be a sheep in the city,
but quit pulling the wool over our eyes and flock like a lamb
(though it's herd when you're part lamb, part monkey with chicken lips and sheep dip hips,
especially as ewe are the redheaded sheep of the family).

That was some shear it in the night at the lake, but don't blame me,
it was ForEwe...sheep's the one.

So please, take a leap of fleece and meet me out in the sheep,
cuz I ain't got ewe....and dam, oh-oh-ooooh I'm on sire.

Well, that's all that shepards will allow.
If I should flock behind,
meet me in the lamb of hope and counting-sheep-in-your-dreams.

GWN - my motto is "....party...will travel". Just back from New Orleans from a wedding and partying with RedHeadedWoman and Doc (who also bought a new hat. I'll just say that it complements his gold lame jacket - quite the fashion statement).

Of course we have to have matchy matchy... but flannel shirts? Also don't think the hats with the flaps over the ears is a good idea either. Oh, what the hay......... if we can wear orange shirts and purple shirts I guess we can get flannel as well! Oh... and those cheesehead hats! Oy vay!

PJ - time for another (and better) list! Just received this message from the President who was assigned the task of obtaining a list of UK beers we can get here in Iowa. I am posting it here in hopes of enticing a few others to join in the madness and mayhem that will be occuring in Iowa in two weeks!

And now ... a message from the President:

Well, I managed to elude the Undercover FBI lurking in the bushes and esacpe down the street to Dirty John's Grocery. A search results summary follows:

Fine Refreshments from the UK:
From England:
Samuel Smith
Old Brewery Pale Ale
Nut Brown Ale
Winter Welcome Ale
Oatmeal Stout
Tadcaster -- "The Taddy Porter"
India Ale
Fuller's
London Porter
India Pale Ale
Young's
Oatmeal Stout
Double Chocolate Stout
Theakston
Old Peculier (Yes, I know that's spelled wrong -- that's what it said on the silly bottle
Boddington's Pub Ale
Abbot Ale
From Scotland:
McEwan's Pale Ale
Belhaven
Scottish Ale
St. Andrew's Ale
From Ireland:
Guinness (of course)
Wexford Irsih Creme Ale
Murphy's Irish Stout
Caffrey's Cream Ale
Beamis Irish Stout

Now for the Doc... Rolling Rock at almost half price! For Robinia and PJ -- Glacier Bay Vodka and lemonade -- already mixed! Buy it by the fifth! They also had that Paulaner beer that I feel in love with in Atlanta!

They had no blue liquid in stock but thought they could get it. I assured them we had a supplier....

Whatta ya say, boys and girls? Are we ready to road trip?

Flory Days
Nov 2nd, 2001, 02:46 PM
Hummer/Robinia - I am still working on trying to get there, weighing several factors to see if it will be possible.

While your list of refreshment supplies from Dirty John's is impressive, and fifty percent off Rolling Rock is very tempting, I did not see either Leinenkugel's or Rhinelander make the list. :D This could be a deciding factor......no Wisconsin beers?

robinia
Nov 2nd, 2001, 03:11 PM
For you Flory Days, we will go to great lengths to find your beverage of choice! The President only listed the UK beers, I'm sure Dirty John's has a whole room full of Wisconsin's finest! You just come and we will make sure we have what you want to drink! We still have a few extra rooms left in the Executive Suites, again just waiting for you!

Anyone think they'll mistake Hummer and me for Laverne and Shirley when we go to WI? A brunette and a redhead wearing beer cologne?!

Please join us Flory Days, you know you want to!

Hmmh the Midwestern WWA as laverne and shirley does seem kind of appropriate which means the Doc and I are Lenny and Squiggy (yes Laverne and Shirley was one of the first american shows to appear on the three - count them 3 tv channels I had in Wales) but where does that leave PJ??

Now if we're going to start discussing cheese you honestly cannot beat Caerphilly!!

BTW the president did a wonderful job scoping out the beers now just go out and buy them, leave them out of the fridge and by the 16th they should be at room temperature but what is room temperature in Iowa -10F?

Ice - whew! You're off the hook now! Nothing's worse than a ticked off redheaded Wild Woman - just ask Doc!

Ann - I hope this heat wave lasts! Can we hook up your video camera to Ice's laptop? Then we really could have a webcast from the bar!

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flory Days - where are you?! You know you want to come! Just think how good it will feel when you say yes!

Ann - so its 70 in Minnie today, you and I know that midwest weather changes faster than a heartbeat! :D Besides, we going to Middleton! which will be cold, just as long as that white stuff doesn't fly. Anything below 55 is cold to me.

This is turning out to be one hellava party.......free dvd, free beer geez..what more could a wild woman ask for....well maybe if a certain musician we all love showed up. Too bad we won't be able to partake of the free brats but we'll be negotiating our way via the Denver airport :D:D

Robin - is West Branch ready for us? Maybe I should ask is Middleton ready for this group? They're gonna think they got invaded.

Take care,see ya's soon.

Just enter West Branch (is there an east branch?) IA into wwww.weather.com and watch the temperature fall from a
balmy 69 today to a high of 53 on Wed Nov 14th - poor yourself a stiff drink before reading what the low will be!

I'm not sure Middleton needs to worry after all Doc has to clear security at both Chicago and Denver airport - so one of those is bound to either confiscate his coat, his hat, all the expensive shoes he has bought to curry favour with robinia and the farm animals in his carry-on luggage - before he even gets to West Branch and then the canadian border guards in Diresville (?)
(or wherever the h**L that silly baseball field is!) are bound
to stop us when the Doc insists on letting the goats and sheep graze on the infield....

p.s Steelwheels yes Bass will be fine, room temperature in Imperial (20oz) pint glasses as god intended!!

I don't know why Andrew, but all this talk of Imperial Pints makes me think of Star Wars and the Imperial Forces?! I don't think I even want to know why that's connected!

Shoes? Did someone say shoes? If doc brings me shoes he will most definitely be my favorite! Unless of course someone brings Bruce! Who was going to call him?

Ann - you're right, this weather is great! I hope it lasts for our visitors! I'm not even looking at the weather forecast because they're never right!

Flory Days - did you book that flight yet?!

hey french guy

Bass is beer and has been since the 18th century long before they laid cheese on the frozen tundra of lambeau field ...

robinia

the only shoes Doc has bought are of course clown shoes for that french guy - I remain confident of retaining favourite status even if I have to fly you and the president back down here to visit
Agave !!!

Andrew - you have excellent taste in beer, not that you needed to hear that from me. However you can be arrested in Wisconsin for using lower case letters when referring to the state shrine - it must be Lambeau Field.

WWA - I am getting lost in this thread with repeated questions about my flight plan or lack thereof. I'm not sure which post to reply to. I had the airfare budgeted but now I have to buy a DVD player.....:D ......still have a few hurdles. I keep telling you, if you want Bruce to show....doc is your man. Its either doc or Terry Magovern. btw, I think the yellow coat was standard for squiggy so doc's timing is right.

jbe - I think the Badgers must beat Michigan to be bowl eligible this year, right?

robinia
Nov 7th, 2001, 07:01 AM
Flory Days - you don't need to buy no stinking dvd player now - the whole point of the party is to watch the dvd with fellow Tramps! So ditch the dvd player and book that plane ticket! Just let us know what time to pick you up at the Cedar Rapids airport. I'd suggest you get there early like Andrew and PJ. Not sure we'll be in any condition to go back for doc later that night! (just teasing doc!, it was a ploy to get you to catch an earlier flight!)

jbe

Yes the badgers do need to win the rest of the games in order to be bowl eligable. Now... if we can only get the same clock operator that Michigan State had...

Too funny Cobalt! I'm just happy it was "Wisconsin" and not "Iowa"! Thanks for sharing!

Toooooo funny Rob - as a former Chicagoan (?sp - that's how long its been) I can really relate to those points since we all considered Wisconsin full of "farmers" cuz that's how they drove! :D:D Sorry Incident.

Using the Robinia method of counting ........8 MORE DAYS

WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Flory Days
Nov 8th, 2001, 01:34 PM
That was great cobalt. As you and PJ are former Chicagoans you may also relate to how Wisconsin natives resent those Illinois bas*ar*s for crowding the state parks in the "construction" season.

robinia - I'm sure cobalt can find something for Iowa too. Just give him time. No flight plan yet, are you sure Cedar Falls has an airport?

Hummer
Nov 8th, 2001, 01:53 PM
Flory Day,s does this mean what I think it means? Do you get to road trip with us? Woo-hoo!! Actually, the airport is in Cedar Rapids, not Cedar Falls. (You're right, Cedar Falls doesn't have an airport.) Let us know your arrangements, and you too can join the traveling caravan winding its way through Iowa to the great state of WI.

Can't wait!

President Hummer

How big is the presidential motorcade - I mean if Flory Days comes
then won't we have to get robinia to dance on the roof of the limo all the way there or maybe we can lock Doc in the trunk along
with some tequilla....

p.s make sure he brings presents too (:==:)

Actually Flory Days, I think the Waterloo airport is actually in Cedar Falls! But it would be much better if you would fly into Cedar Rapids, particularly early afternoon! Then you could join our traveling circus (ok if I use that term Cobalt?)!

Andrew, not to worry, both the president and I have vehicles big enough to stow doc with the luggage(which is where he'll be if he doesn't bring presents!)! And there's nothing that says we cant' take two vehicles and do the walkie talkie thing Ice suggested. So the more the merrier!

Who else is coming? Did anyone call Bruce yet?!

OK, you asked for it...

YOU KNOW YOU ARE AN IOWAN WHEN......

...you listen to "Paul Harvey" every day at noon.

...you can eat an ear of corn in 20 seconds with no utensil

...you know the difference between a skunk and a feed lot.

...you are related to more than half the town.

...there's a tornado warning and the whole town is outside watching for it.

...during a storm, you check the cattle before you check your family.

...you don't buy all your vegetables at the grocery store.

...yesterday it was 54 degees outside, today it's snowing!

...You know cow pies aren't made of beef :-)

...you go to the State fair for your family vacation.

...going to the river is like going to the ocean.

..using the elevator involves a corn truck.

...your prayers cover rain, cattle and pigs.

...you'll miss your anniversary for the first day of deer hunting.

...You can tell the difference beween a horse and a cow from a distance.

...your car breaks down outside of town and news of it reaches town before you do.

...you can tell it's a farmer working late in his field and not a UFO.

...your nearest neighbor is in the next area code.

..You can name everyone you graduated with.

You get a whiff of manure and think of home.
