Things we'd forgotten about that remind us of when we were kids
Sea Wees were mermaids with long Barbie hair. They came with a Sea Wee child, that was smaller and had painted-on short hair. They had names like Stormy, Sandy, and Coral. I think there were 4. The lagoon was a large seashell that came with a floating seahorse and some other stuff. They were made by Kenner.

Voltron: Defender of the Universe--They were popular during 1985-87. They were recognized by and colors and the fact that they formed one large robot.
Black lion = the head and torso,--(the hot one)
Red lion = 1 of the arms,
Yellow lion = 1 of the legs,

G-Force
http://www.yesterdayland.com/images/popopedia/shows/saturday/sa1698.gif
In Battle of the Planets, the team was led by Mark, the thoughtful yet daring commander. He was assisted by the headstrong and impetuous Jason, whose exuberance for battle needed to be muted now and then. Princess was G-Force’s only woman, quick with a quip and holding more than a team-member’s interest in Mark, though their defense assignments kept them too busy to pursue a full-time relationship. Keyop, the fourth member of the squad, was created in a lab expressly for G-Force. A malfunction in his production gave him a strange manner of speaking, which only made him more loveable.
G-Force was rounded out (pun fully intended) by Tiny, the overweight pilot of “The Phoenix,” the squadron's ship. The Phoenix was a technical marvel, capable of transmuting from a conventional spaceship to an amorphous, fiery bird when necessary to escape danger. G-Force’s headquarters was named Center Neptune and was manned by 7-Zark-7, a robot who provided the team with their assignments, keeping them abreast of enemy movements. This character did not appear in the original Japanese incarnation of the show. He was kept company by his loyal robot dog 1-Rover-1, and a never-seen secretary, Susan, whose sultry voice would make 7-Z-7’s antennae vibrate with excitement whenever he heard her talk. Dr. Anderson was the security officer who advised the team about operational procedures.
The leading enemy antagonist was Zoltar, who constantly plotted take-over invasions of Earth using robot troops, tanks, planes, and hideous mechanical creatures. The ruler of the dying planet Spectra, Zoltar hoped to conquer earth and plunder its natural resources. The baddie received commands from a higher and more powerful evil galactic being known as “The Spirit,” whom Zoltar referred to as “Oh Luminous One.” This can be attributed to the fact that “The Spirit” was never represented by anything more than two eyes on a monitor.

and being the engineer that I am (;)) got it to work again :o... still works :) lol... you could do like a dozen diffent things on it... tic-tac-to (w/ 2 players OR against the machine), sort of a simon repeat kinda thing, just TONS of stuff :o

I would have used the Merlin as a phone too.
I had this ballerina doll, which hardly ever would work and when you'd pivot her by the crown in her head, you'd always whack your legs with her outstretched leg. I may still have the bruises.
My sister, had Swingy. Swingy had a go-go dress and you played the 45 on your record player and she kind of did the twist. I coveted that doll. Alas, I was in the other room making sounds like pivot ... whack ... ouch, etc. ;)

Was it the My Friends that had the slogan "Let's Be Friends!" in that annoying high-pitched voice?
If so, my friend Adrian in 8th grade (Shout out to you, Adrian, if you're watching!) wrote a rap on our long bus rides home about it. Like to hear it? Here it goes... Warning: it's not exactly PC.
(sung) Let's be friends, we'll do things together
We'll have a gay ol' time
Let's be friends, we'll do things together
(rap) My name is Bridget
I'm a little white doll
And the only time I hurt myself is when I fall
And when I fall, my arms might fall off
Just like in the shuttle with Christa MacCullough
Let's be friends and do things together
Yes, my name is Bridget, or my name is Heather.
And if it isn't, need to fill me in
So I can get on the phone and call my friends
(sung again) Let's be friends, we'll do things together...

speaking of "remembering things"...
*clears throat and talks REALLY fast in about 15 seconds flat*
Big Mac, McDLT, a quarter-pounder w/ some cheese, filet-o-fish, a hamburger, cheeseburger, or happy-meal... McNugget, tasty golden french fries regular or large in size, a salad 'chef' or 'garden' or a chicken salad/oriental, big big-breakfast, egg McMuffin, hot hot-cakes with sausage, maybe biscuit with bacon egg and cheese or sausage, a danish, maybe hashbrown, for dessert, hot apple pies, sundaes - THREE varieties, soft-serve cones, three kinds of shakes, chocolate chip cookies, and to drink a coca-cola, diet coke, or orange drink, sprite a coffee, decaf too, low-fat milk and orange juice... I love McDonald's good times and great tastes, and I get this all at ONE place... the good times, great tastes of McDonalds :o!

The Bugaloos
http://www.yesterdayland.com/images/popopedia/shows/saturday/sa1020.jpg
H.R. Pufnstuf Witchypoo scared the crap out of me.
http://www.yesterdayland.com/images/popopedia/shows/saturday/sa1095.jpg
H.R. Pufnstuf began when young English boy Jimmy, out playing his flute Freddie, was beckoned out to sea in a colorful boat bound for Living Island. As it drifted toward the island, the boat turned out to be a trap set by the evil Witchiepoo, who wanted to add Freddie to her collection of magical belongings.
Jimmy narrowly escaped his fate by jumping overboard, only to wash up on the beach of an enchanted isle, unconscious. The boy was promptly rescued by the local mayor, H.R. Pufnstuf, a giant orange and green cowboy/dragon. Jimmy and Freddie the Flute found themselves stranded on Living Island, where everything was alive with its own personality: books, candles, and mushrooms all talked, some houses had hay fever, and money was measured in buttons.
“Alarm, alarm, Witchiepoo is coming, Witchiepoo is coming!”
Each week, the evil Witchiepoo, along with her henchmen—vulture Orson, hapless orange spider Seymour, and the aptly named Stupid Bat—would hatch a plan to steal Freddie from Jimmy and keep them both trapped on Living Island.

Do you remember ISIS and Shazam?
NikDC
Jan 16th, 2002, 12:54 PM
I don't, but perhaps this will jog the memory of those older than I.
It also tells me where Shazam comes from--useful knowledge! Though, there is no Greek God named Solomon-- he was a king of Israel. Atlas was a Titan (brother to Prometheus), Achilles was a warrior, and Mercury was the Roman name of the Messenger to the Gods...the Greek name was Hermes
http://www.yesterdayland.com/images/popopedia/shows/saturday/sa1202.jpg
One season after his solo debut in Shazam!, Captain Marvel was teamed up with another live-action superhero, the lovely Isis, for this popular live-action show.
The Shazam! segments followed teenager Billy Batson and his superhero alter ego, Captain Marvel, comic book and movie serial stars since the late 1930's. The title was actually an acronym for the Greek gods Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury, all of whom endowed Billy with his super powers of flight, speed, and strength, and with whom Billy would discuss various dilemmas.
Each week, Billy and his elderly friend and advisor, the aptly-named Mentor, drove around in a van, taking the law into their own hands and making the world a better place.
When trouble was nigh, a light flashed on the dashboard of the vehicle, and the gods would appear to Billy to discuss the situation. When Billy exclaimed “Shazam!,” he was instantly transformed into the crimefighting superhero Captain Marvel, complete with cape, red tights, and a yellow bolt of lightning across his chest.
After righting whatever was wrong, Captain Marvel returned to his normal teenage form, at which point he and Mentor would discuss the moral and/or ethical lesson they had learned.
The Isis segments featured high school teacher Andrea Thomas, who discovered an ancient Egyptian amulet while on an archaeological expedition. Through the amulet, Andrea was given super strength, super speed, the power of flight, and a form of telekinesis. Like Billy Batson before her, Andrea literally transformed into a new superhero, the inimitable Isis. Also like her male counterpart, the heroine received her powers from an ancient legendary source, the Egyptian goddess Isis, by intoning the magic words, "Oh mighty Isis!"
Andrea used these newfound powers to right wrongs and defend the helpless and downtrodden. Joining her on the show were pet crow Tut, fellow teacher Rick Mason, and students Renee Carroll and Cindy Lee. Somehow, the other humans never managed to figure out her secret identity.
After two seasons together, the heroes parted ways. Isis continued to fight evil under the new title The Secrets of Isis from 1977-78. Both heroes later returned to Saturday morning in animated form, Isis as part of Tarzan and the Super 7 and Captain Marvel as half of The Kid Super Power Hour With Shazam.

Why can't I find the Barbie Dream Cottage? I know it's out there... I had the damn thing. Did they call it a cottage?

I always hated my Cher doll b/c her feet were so big.
On the other hand, it was easy to dress Ken (and my Luke Skywalker and Han Solo dolls, who all dated the Barbies) in drag using Cher's big-ass shoes.

Few more today since I'm bored on my lunch hour.
http://www.yesterdayland.com/images/popopedia/shows/saturday/sa1646.gif I had a big crush on Alisdair. Who knew Alanis would go on to do bigger and better things?

yep, Transformers...I still have like a whole friggin drawer full of those things back home...
I think I still have back there one of those GoBot like their vehicle thingy... it's like a car, that folded out to be like a walker robot thingy, opened up and stuff, so you could have the GoBots all on different levels of the "command center" or whatever... had a button you pushed that made the "eyes" light up and gave off like an alert sound effect thing lol

found out the hard way that Slip & Slide isn't all quite that effective unless you actually have a slope to the backyard :o... unless I did it in the FRONT yard, but then I don't think it would've been very nice to slide straight out into the middle of traffic ;) LOL!
