Bruce is burnin' up Atlanta! I just got off the phone with a buddy of mine who knows Brendan O'Brien amung a few others down in Atlanta........I'm not able to tell you everything I heard but what I can say is that Bruce & Band have completed five(!!!) songs for the new album already!....this doesn't mean they have been mixed yet...Bruce is reported to be very happy with the sessions so far...so we shall see.....But it seems that things are moving along smoothly and it is projected that the album could be released as early as May!(Of coarse with Bruce, you never know!) There is speculation that a tour would kick off sometime next summer around June or July. I am assuming it would kick off around NY/NJ but that is a guess....A tour of Australia & Japan is possible from what I was told.....So keep your fingers crossed!!!!

Ok... now I just have to come into a large sum of money to cover the costs of touring around the country with the band this summer. Any rich men out there looking for a young twenty-something to enjoy Bruce concerts with??? ;)
This is great news! If an album is actually released in May it'll be the best birthday present I've gotten in years!

Wow, Bruce is really cooking up something good for my birthday in May.
Boy, I had better find a job soon, so I can use my savings for the tour and not to pay my mortgage.

You need to establish priorities. You can always have a house some other time.

Hey, there's an idea. On the next tour, fans will put up the band in their homes. I have a small apartment, so I guess I'll just take Steve.

I made my post about these sessions in another thread (CONFIRMED NEWS) before reading this....
WOW this is great news.
However, I've gotta play devil's advocate here for a minute and point out the following:
1) Bruce & the band went into the studio sometime last year and laid down a handful of tracks. Were those rehersals for these sessions or are those the "finished" tracks being referred to here that are just being mixed or redubbed/re-edited?
2) Given Bruce's history of having a disproportionate number of songs recorded for an album that actually make an album, how many of these tracks can we assume Bruce will feel are good enough to make the album? Given Bruce's history, I would guess that only one or two of the five songs that JerseyNights' source reports being finished will actually make the cut for the album, that means they have a lot more recording to do.
I hope I'm wrong with my comments above and that we get a kick-ass new album by May, but Bruce's history suggests otherwise.
If there's a tour, I need to know dates soon so I can use my vacation time following the tour like I did in '99-'00.

This all sounds great.I hope its true.
In response to EStreetJukes number 2 statement. When Bruce released Tracks, and after reading his short explanation on the material, I almost feel he may be a little less critical now. What I am trying to say is maybe he wont have many "throw backs" on this go around.I could be wrong.
Either way, I am glad to hear of the news.As far as the release, and the tour, I will wait til Shore Fire Media makes the announcement.
how do I "quote" something from someone elses thread?Never mind, just saw it at the bottom. It has been a while for me posting.

Toots: what a thought...... the back bar area has such a romantic quality to it, smelly from spilt alcohol, cigs, sticky sticky floor.......don't think attempting reproducing at the back bar is in the cards!!
But Ace does have an idea to turn our den into his music room which will have his bruce painting, clarence painting, posters from the Pony, signed set lists, AP photos. and in his dreams" Bar stools from the Pony" and an old neon light or two from AP. He really really wanted to get the sign from the FLamingo Hotel and hang it downstairs!

Muddy dear...Why do you think Douger married me in the first place?
Joanne....Just exactly what is the back bar floor sticky from anyway? When you get that basement project finished let me know, I'd love to come see it. Doc says I can stay in his garage anytime I want to. He'll even move the lawnmower.

I'm sorry, I'm turned on. And breathing heavy. That sounds out of this world .
Thanks!
That really did it for me. We are re-doing two rooms in our house and I'm not sure Bruce will be a focal point in any room. You go kids!! Give me pointers!!
