View Full Version : What should we talk about???

kentuckychic
Oct 19th, 2000, 07:20 AM
We've known all along that there were several 'lurkers' out there reading along. I had no idea though that there were so many. Check out the phone con post. 17 replies and 100 and something hits. Apparently many people find us to be VERY entertaining.....so let's come up with something extremely entertaining to provide these people with a day full of laughs. Any ideas?????

PB&Kev

I wonder how many of those hits belong to Short Chris? ;)

I have to buy new brown shoes. That should be HUGELY entertaining for days on end.

By the way, I don't trust the view count. It seems rigged.

So Iggy, enlighten us, why are you buying new brown shoes?

PB&Kev
Oct 19th, 2000, 07:52 AM
I heard you were ragging on my accent again yesterday Iggy. :p

And you wonder why I won't talk on the phone.

PB, we missed you. :(

How many of you hung up on the count of three, and how many of you stayed on to hear us all leave?

Short Chris
Oct 19th, 2000, 08:00 AM
No more than 20 of those posts were mine, PB. ;)

I hung up early ISOJ, did you go on "3" or after "3"?

iggy
Oct 19th, 2000, 08:04 AM
I hung up at 5...5 o'clock that is. How much longer did it last?

kentuckychic
Oct 19th, 2000, 08:07 AM
I almost took the number home with me so I could call back in. I decided not to and I guess it's a good thing I didn't because no one would have been there when I called back in.

Iggy, answer the shoe question.

insearchofjustin
Oct 19th, 2000, 08:09 AM
I hung up ON 3. :) What about you, Chris?

Short Chris
Oct 19th, 2000, 08:13 AM
I hung up before it got to "3" and then went and pretended I had been diligently working for the last 1/2 hour.

I need new brown shoes because we get to wear jeans again this Friday...and because I don't believe in delayed gratification.

insearchofjustin
Oct 19th, 2000, 08:22 AM
How many of you find yourself buying the same pair of shoes... one in brown and one in black?

That happens to me SO often. You find a pair that you really like, but you just need one brown and one black.

Ig, wore black boots with the brown snakeskin, and nobody could tell the difference.

The day I find a pair of REALLY dark brown boots, will be the day I can die happy.

insearchofjustin
Oct 19th, 2000, 08:23 AM
I mean one black pair and one brown pair.

No salt and pepper shoes here.

iggy
Oct 19th, 2000, 08:26 AM
I don't buy the same shoes in different colors. I don't have a thing for shoes. It just seems that I wear them out so early...so I always have to get new ones.

I'm going to have to give up my part in the touring company of Riverdance.

pen&kev
Oct 19th, 2000, 08:26 AM
You know whats even harder? You buy a pair and then they become your favorites. Later on you decide to buy another pair because the old one's are looking old. What are the odds you can find the exact same shoe?

insearchofjustin
Oct 19th, 2000, 08:29 AM
That's why you should always buy two of everything... shoes, jeans, coats, earrings, watches.

Do any of you guys have BAKERS shoes in your city? I've always thought of this place as having hoochie-cheap shoes, and on my search for brown boots last week, I found a pair of dark red boots at BAKERS and they weren't cheap.

But due to the reputation that's etched itself in my memory, I passed on the boots.

One of the Directors here just told another director that he looks like Gonzo from the Muppets.

True, but uncalled for.

kentuckychic
Oct 19th, 2000, 09:47 AM
Ouch, that hurt Penny. Now I'm here to tell you that I DO NOT in any way shape or form have that bad of an accent. Those are eastern Kentuckians and they have accents beyond belief!!!!!

I have actually seen Coalminer's Daughter. I sat and watched it with an old lady neighbor during a blizzard.

kentuckychic
Oct 19th, 2000, 10:35 AM
Forgiven....you knew I couldn't stay mad at you too long.

We've had one blizzard. Of course most people around here consider 2 inches of snow a blizzard, but this was between 20 and 25 inches worth of snow.

Don't worry KY, they abused me the first time I joined a conference call due to my midwestern accent. Notice I didn't join in yesterday. OK, it was only because I didn't read the posts until 10pm, but still. ISOJ, I didn't have an accent, did I?

kentuckychic
Oct 19th, 2000, 11:05 AM
No Ellen, I don't have an accent. What I was saying is, there is no comparison between the non-existent accent that you all say that I have and the accent that eastern Kentuckians have. :D

Up in Northern Kentucky there is a town called Florence and they have a mall. There is a huge water tower that is right next to the interstate and is at the side of the mall. Somehow the tower was originally painted to say "Florence Mall". Apparently someone through a hissy fit and insisted that the town water tower should not advertise the mall. So.....they changed it to "Florence Yall". How stupid and hillbilly is that????

I think I've shared this story once before....

iggy
Oct 19th, 2000, 11:54 AM
If I were you, I'd wouldn't share it again. Doesn't make KY look good.

That's because I'm really a figment of all your twisted imaginations. Not real at all.

I was so cool with phone cons until Iggy. He's given me a major complex.

I've been giving the picture thing a lot of thought lately. It'll have to go through e-mail though. Not the boards.

I'm so walking a thin line right now anyway. Two psychos in my life are quite enough.
