The death of Who bassist John Entwistle got me to thinking. Which artist/band do you wish you could have seen in concert before they or someone in the band died?
I would have loved to see Queen when Freddie Mercury was around. That would have been an awesome show.
Or maybe INXS...

garnet....I would also have LOVED to see Queen....one of my friends did see them a couple of times before Freddy died.I have tickets to see The Who in August and I guess the show will go on....with only half the band left...I'm sure its going to change the whole mood of the show, but I'm glad I'll get to see the surviving members.Due to the ages of most of the band members(and their unhealthey lifestyles) of the groups that I like, I'm always saying you never know if it will be your last chance to see them ALL together.I think I would also have liked to see Lynnard Skynnard before the plane crash too.....

Queen would have been interesting. I recently heard the concert where George Michael sang the lead for Queen (along with some duets). Better than I expected.
I would have loved to see Patsy Cline.

I had tickets to Venom, Anthrax andI forget who else when I was in High School. The concert was canceled because someone died in a plane crash. Again, I was in high school so I don't recall who died. I still haven't seen Venom and I'd like to.
I did get to see Anthrax though. :-)

I would have liked to have seen Janis Joplin for some reason.
Or Bob Dylan. Oh, he's not dead? ;)
I saw INXS with Michael Hutchence and they are now touring with Simple Minds. No way will it be as good in my opinion.

GREAT question, garnet. I think I'd have liked to see a Beatles tour a la the Eagles Hell Freezes Over tour if John had still been with us. I bet the Mamas and the Papas would have been big in the amphitheater arena too and I'd have gone. TLC maybe.

Did I ever se TLC? not sure
Mamas and Papas would be good. I have some live stuff from them and the harmonies are still out of this world.

I can't remember if I ever saw TLC either. Huh.
I did see Milli Vanilli before the lighter one killed himself. I saw them twice. Go figure. Won tickets on the radio both times.
I also saw Puffy and Mace before Mace died. Wait. Mace didn't die. Who knew?

There are so many that come to mind. However, I too would have loved to have seen the Beatles or Queen in concert. I also would have loved to have seen Led Zeppelin.
As far as more recent artists, I am sorry that I never got to see Jeff Buckley in concert.
vester, that's funny about Bob Dylan. Actually, I have seen him three times in concert and he has always been great.

I would have loved to go to Vegas in the good old Rat Pack days. I am fascinated by Sammy, Dean, Frank, Peter & Joey. I've seen bits of their shows on video and it looked like a real good time. Ring a ding ding...

Anything's a real good time when you have been drinking since 9:00 AM.
The fact that they could stand up at all is the genius of their artistry.

They remind me of the mafia/mob (whatever you want to call it). I've always been intrigued by all things mafia. I think it would be kinda cool to be in the mafia.

Not so much a stretch where Francis Albert is concerned.
I like mob lingo and suits. The brutal executions and illegal intimidation holds less appeal to me. But nobody can wear pinstripes like a gangland thug (the original ones, not the west coast version).
I wonder if there is a website that gives you mob names. That would provide seconds of enjoyment.

Oh yeah, I remember that now.
I'm Frankenberry. Strange since I've always considered myself more Count Chocula...or BooBerry at the very least.

I knew Count Chocula. You, sir, are no Count Chocula.

As The Grown Up, I am going to judgmentally disapprove of your Lone Drinking . . . and I am mortified by KY's so openly drawing attention to her buttocks. :o For shame.

Ya'll are going to think I'm nuts for telling you this, but my friend and I went to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art to see a showing of pictures taken back in the 30s, 40s and 50s of people murdered my the mafia....it was my friend's wish to see it, I just tagged along in case she fainted.
Those were the worst pictures my eyes have ever seen, and they were in black and white......things done to bodies you couldn't even dream of.
As far as Mob nicknames go:
When I put my real name in: The Delicous
When I put my s/n in: The self-toucher
When I put my s/n and last name in: Pants

Not know what "delicous" was, I typed in Cali's real name and didn't get anything like that. How random this name generator is.

Yesterday I was trying to find a site that would give us Mafia names and needless to say I got distracted along the way. On some random site there was a link to pictures of mob killings. I decided that I better wait to view those after finishing my lunch. So while I'm trying to sneak a peak at Frank Sinatra's FBI file my computer completely locks up and I had to shut down everything. Since I'm so braindead I have no clue where I found the link to the pictures. :(

I'll probably get zinged for this but I'm also gonna say Elvis. I just saw a documentary about his 1970 concert in Vegas. They showed him in rehearsals and then some of the concert. It was very entertaining to say the least.
While surfing for Elvis info on the web this week-end, I found this website where this person has a theory about Elvis and Ann Margret having a hand in the JFK assasination plot. Way interesting
