from the birthday thread, I have discovered a page with some really great smilies on it . . . and, more importantly, I have figured out for the first time in almost two years of posting here how to post an image. Hooray! :D So anyway, here's a funny smilie that I thought the '80s crowd would get a kick out of . . . . Feel free to post your randomness in this thread as well. Time to be weird!

I do love Mr. T.
But I'm stealing Dali for my avatar--it just seems fitting in the humid DC heat of July. I melt on the sidewalk like that, the wilting flower that I am.

DC is one big rice paddy today. Swampy and humid. One would think I'd feel more at home...wouldn't one?

You know, it never occurred to me that I could use one of these suckers as an avatar! LOL!
I really am just a simple creature. :p

Lance is a space cadet!
I will never get tired of saying that. :)
iggy
Jul 22nd, 2002, 09:56 AM
Out of simple underexposure, I don't know if Lance still ranks as my favority. I know nothing about them anymore. They're like a Christmas tree. Admired intensely for a finite amount of time...then chucked out to the curb for trash collection. They take recycling and boy band members on Tuesdays.

Having never seen the show, I wouldn't know a him from a ha about the characters or the show, but here's the info:
(7/9/02, 6 p.m. ET) - *NSYNC singer Joey Fatone will make his Broadway debut in the musical Rent this summer, according to the show's producers. Fatone will star as filmmaker and video artist Mark Cohen in the New York company of the Tony Award-winning musical. Fatone began rehearsals for the show on Monday (July 8), and he will make his debut on August 5.
Fatone's prior acting credits include roles in he films My Big Fat Greek Wedding, On The Line, and Longshot. Fatone began his career as a singer-actor as a teenager with a role as a singing and dancing werewolf in the Beetlejuice Graveyard Review Show at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
Rent is currently playing at the Nederlander Theatre in New York City. Fatone will portray Mark through December 22. Tickets for Rent are available at the Nederlander box office and via ticketmaster.com.

That's the role Doogie did in LA for a while. Should be interesting, if not a strong, performance. Too bad he's not playing the flamboyant drag queen dressed like a Santa on smack.

I had to laugh at iggy's Rizzo comment. That, and Circus of the Stars are revolving doors for the "whatdowedowiththemnow".
Actually, I think Joey's voice was much more made for Broadway than anything else.
Now, not having heard iggy, I can't say as to who is better. ;)
I also have not seen the show, so don't know what the character is about. Reviews should be interesting.

Nikki's next stalkfest starts Friday at Charity for the Children. Rent soon to follow as soon as I can make plans to get up to NYC.

I've seen Rent and have the CD from the original cast. Love that show!! According to Rent's website, they're excited that Joey is joining them. And is anxiously awaiting for all the N'Syncers to watch the show.
BTW, when I pronounce Fatone, it's "phat one".

But of course Justin's voice to me is the equvialent to running your fingernails down a chalk board..

I'll give you a topic: The part of Mark in Rent is that of a starving artist. Joey Fatone is neither starving nor an artist. Discuss.
I've seen Rent twice also. I could take or leave it. It may have been poignant when it came out, but not so much revolutionary these days.

I grew up with a guy that was in Rent and Miss Saigon. Have no clue what parts he played. I'm pretty sure he was one of the main characters in Miss Saigon but I wouldn't actually place money on that knowledge. I think he has a website I guess I could check that out.

I wonder how much money I could make by selling the person that runs that site copies of pictures I have of him when he was just a wee thing? Or better yet, copies of videos of him in church plays/musicals. I'd bet she would really get a kick out of the story of him running up to my window real late at night and scaring the pee water out of me and then my daddy almost killing him. :D

His name sounds familiar. I think I might have seen him in Miss Saigon when it came to Florida several years ago. He's cute!
