Alright, first timers on the call: who surprised you the most with how they sounded or acted?
Regulars: which first timer shocked you?

Noobz surprised me... as I said, I'm more in love with him now than ever.

Just to freak him out, I'll say I love him too.
No quotes from Smokey and the Bandit however. Maybe next time.
Conference call in 10 minutes!

I think he's gone for the day, so we won't know if the feeling is reciprocal until tomorrow morning.
Did the Confederacy rule?

By the way, ISOJ, they extended it ANOTHER 15 minutes after you left.
The Confederacy ruled with accents.

I bet they'd extend it to infinity if Garnet never hung up.

I don't know if SunShineGirl was a first timer or not, but she's a definite winner for being in the hall way talkin'!

:D
This was only my second call so I was still trying to tell who was who. Iggy, you sound just like my friend Brian who lives in the Caymans. You giggle just like him too.

Oct 26th, 2000, 02:54 PM
I don't remember giggling.
Garnet, Newbs called you out as having an accent. Defense?
The echo hallway was a definite winner aspect of the call...not to mention the fire drill.

I don't think I have an accent, do you? When I was at FSU, everybody called me a hick. I'm from Florida I would say. Well, you're from Lakeland which is close to Mulberry/Plant City so you're a hick they would say. Jerkoffs...
Has anyone ever heard how a person born/raised in Tallahassee talks? My God, I started hanging out with this girl in college and she had a MAJOR accent. I thought she was from Kentucky or someplace like that. She told me she was born in Tallahassee.

I didn't hear one on the first call. When you signed on this time, there was a slight one. Not as strong as Newbs.
I'm still loving the interaction between Newbs, PB, and KY. I could almost smell the possum on the grill.

Mmmmmm...grilled possum. It's nearing dinnertime and I'm hungry.

Will you be fixin' some grits to go with that granny? Just sounds like a Beverly Hillbillys episode is about to break out.

Right after I hung up someone fell down those stairs. Just thought you all should know. Oh and I think the fire drill was actually a fire drill. There was a fire truck outside when I left.
Damn engineers setting fires again.
Um, shocking? I dunno. Iggy's voice was higher than I expected.

To whom should I give my phone number to so I can partake of the festivities next time?

Iggy has a high voice? Sure he didn't just breathe in some helium for effect?

My assessment of "The Call":
iggy sounded "nicer" than he does on his posts. ;)
I love the Minnesota accent, ISOJ. So sophisticated.
I thought PB's accent was more southern than KY's.
There were some people announced as "attending" that didn't say squat. Lurkers all.
I felt very awkward, personally, as I feel inferior at the chit-chat game. However, it was a thrill to actually hear everyone. I was also very tired from getting no sleep, so maybe next time I'll be more comfortable and rested and open up.
Thanks for the invite! :)

I guess I didn't mean he has a high voice. It was just higher than I expected.
It's strange the impressions you get just from being online.

I didn't notice an accent ISOJ!
Hmm...I wonder why! ;)

Sunshine, I've spoken with iggy. Just how low did you expect his voice to be? Are we talking "Old Man River" low?
sunshinegirl
Oct 27th, 2000, 09:08 AM
I don't know what I was expecting...I really don't. I guess I did expect a bass voice, but I can't for the life of me tell you why.
I also expected Nikki to sound differently.
Yeah we are ISOJ! We are going to take DC by storm ;)

The scary thing is, I used to be 10 times worse than I am now. I've worked very hard to not be ridiculed by Kentuckians over the Jawja accent.
Also, I was a disc jockey for some time. They are not supposed to have a dialect of any kind. I guess I'll never rid myself of the entire thing.

You have a nice, rich voice, PB...I'm not surprised you were a DJ.
And what I was supposed to sound like, Amy?
