E! Online dishes out some Idol gossip about Remember that wild night out where Corey tossed back a few too many? Word is that producers asked him to do that to cultivate a bad-boy image, and Corey, obviously--and unfortunately--agreed.

I also heard that they edited the video of the next morning, to make it look like Corey was late and kept everyone on the bus waiting(remember the footage of Patrick Lake frantically looking for Corey in the lobby?) I read an article written by the mother of a female contestant who made it to those second round auditions. So the girl knew Corey and was there on the bus that day. After she was cut, she watched the show when it aired on tv and realized what the producers were trying to do to Corey. The girl's mother said that her daughter was furious when she saw how manipulated the footage was. Apparently, she was screaming at the tv saying, "Corey is ALREADY on the bus with Patrick!!" It was some other contestants that were late and held the bus back. This all makes me think that the producers definitely knew about Corey's arrest, and therefore set out to make him look like the bad boy/party animal. Then coincidentally, a few weeks later, they "conveniently" find out about some bogus criminal charges and are "forced" to disqualify him. Ratings ploy at its finest, in my opinion!
