What are your Thanksgiving traditions?
Big dinner and touch football in the backyard?
Volunteering at a homeless shelter?
A spirited round of grab-ass with grandma?
This is not multiple choice, by the way. And remember, always make extra gravy.

The only tradition we have is during the meal, we all have to go around the table and say something we're thankful for. My brother-in-law absolutely refuses, which is quite comical and makes my Mom upset.
Let the joy of the holidays begin. BTW, Happy Thanksgiving all. No discussing politics this year, either : (

Go to Granny's house for a big lunch with all the typical turkey day stuff. Then we leave there drive two hours to my aunt's house and do it all over again. And this year I get to work on Thanksgiving. Yippee!!!!

We've managed to eliminate a sister, a nephew, and a neice already from this year's table. I say we're flying right so far. My dream is be alone with the turkey and pie one of these days.

It USED to be a fabulous array of all sorts of roast beasts but my Mother discovered her fancy-shmancy country club cooks a turkey that day and no one has to do dishes. She can't seem to understand that the food sucks and there are no leftovers, so it isn't worth it.
So, the past 4 years, I've started a tradition of roasting my OWN turkey, with stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, etc. I invite over everyone I know EXCEPT family and we have a leftovers party before Thanksgiving.
I then go play extended family all dressed up and fancy at the 'club' and not feel dissappointed that the food sucks.

I couldn't imagine going out for Thanksgiving...I know many people do it, however.
I'm thankful for the sommelier, the coat check girl, the that fact that they have wines by the glass, and that the turkey was free range. Amen.

My tradition moved to Florida, so now it's me, my kid, and my Grandma feasting on a turkey dinner with two sides from Boston Market.
And of course watching the Vikings open up a can of whoop-ass on the Cowboys.
How many concussions will Troy Aikman have this year?

How long does it take to deep fry a turkey?
db44
Nov 21st, 2000, 11:43 AM
It's MSNBC. I'm most likely not to be seen, unless I'm bringing audio carts into the studio. Until I mess up enough that he decides to berate me. I filled in doin' NFL Now w/ Mike Francesa on MSNBC during October, but that's about it.
I loved this morning... He's at the Ranch in NM, and he was wearing his oxygen hose for a bit of the show.

I had deep fried Turkey at my ex in laws. It was really freaky watching them take a perfectly good low fat food (turkey) inject it full of fattening italian dressing and then deep fat frying it.
It tasted like you put your turkey too close to your salad and got some of the dressing juice on it. NOT WORTH THE EFFORT I say.

One hour in a bucket full of oil is easier than 4-5 hours in an oven with constant basting.
I have issues with basting anyway.
