God I don't see why everyone is being so negative in this thread. If you ask ANYONE who actually knows something about the music industry, they will tell you that this is great news for Jess. Sure her last album debuted a bit higher, but that was with one of the biggest pop hits at radio supporting it. Plus Jessica is a pop artist, and they tend not to do well at all these days. And instead of trying RnB she is still a pop artist but she is still selling well. And whoever said that Nick made her career, that is ridiculous, obviously some people here are hostile (probably because they are Britney, Christina or Mandy fans) and feel the need to bring their negativity to this board for no reason. Get a life.

I know you Jessica fans don't want to hear it, but the reason she is in the top 10 right now is becuase she got married, which gave her a lot of publicity. If she didn't get married, the majority of the people wouldn't care about her.

If you are claiming that she got publicity for being married, that is different to her 'being famous because of Nick'. Everyone knows she is the more famous of the couple. And yes maybe getting married did get her media attention, but celebrities get press everyday for the people they are/aren't dating. I mean think of all the celebrity couples that have been publicised for the past 5 years, for instance. Hundreds. But you can't negate the record sales or box-office turnover of every single singer or movie star simply because they are getting publicity. THAT is ridiculous!

Up until the past few weeks when Newlyweds came along, I don't think her marriage and Nick had anything to do with her success. Sure it is helping our now with the show and all, but before that, we hardly ever saw Jessica in the spotlight, with or without Nick.

I think she would be just as successful being a single woman.

Look, if it wasn't for 98 DEGREES, as whom you call, "not a huge boy band", which by the way, I have sources to dismiss that statement, she wouldn't be where she is today. She got a big break by opening for this so called "dismal" boy band and that's how she became famous my friends. So once again, if it wasn't for Nick, she wouldn't be as successful as she is today or rather...once was. If you people can't see that, then I'm sorry. I'm insulting ANYONE as much as a certain someone on here has said I am, I'm just telling facts.

Personally, just my opinion... you may be telling it like it is in such a way that it sounds like your a jessica hater or something. Like, for example... you say she wouldn't be successful if it wasn't for Nick. Exactly. Everyone has to open for someone. Every teen star has got publicity at some point for who they are/aren't dating. Jessica is no different to anyone else.

Say Jess never opened for 98 degree's . Her life would of taken a different turn all together. She MIGHT even be more famous than she is now. Without having the MAN bagage. She was invited to a Teen People party or seomthing of that nature, and that is where she met Nick. Then she went on tour..

must we all bicker all the time? All i know is that I love Jessica and Nick and Newlyweds is the most adorable tv show. Nick is a great husband and so, so kind to Jessica eve though she's got spoiled issues. He balances her out. He completes her.
