O/T: Guy Help!!

I was wondering if any of you could help me out here. I just started college a week ago and I already have a crush on this guy that's in 3 of my classes, lol. I started talking to him last week and he's this really nice, down-to-earth guy. (Not the type of guys I'm used to since my high school was filled with a bunch of conceited jerks, lol.) However, the only problem is, he seems kinda shy. I can be too, but somehow, I managed to just start a conversation with him one day in class, lol.But anyway...we've talked a few times and we even sit next to each other in all the classes we're in together. My problem is, since it's only the second week of school, I don't know if I should ask him if he would like to do something after school or over the weekend...either a study date thing or go to the movies or just something simple like that. A couple people have told me that I should just go for it, but I don't know...I've had bad experiences in that past with that kind of thing and I'm not sure if I should just jump right into things like that. I was hoping you guys could help me out here! I would apperciate any suggestions! Thank you so much!

college is a lil easier in the dating dept. we're all adults. um, start small. go to starbucks, have coffee. do homework. talk. a lot. see where this might go. then work up to seeing a movie. movie = "date" most of the time. having coffee is just that. i guess. lol

Yeah, it already turns out this guy has a girlfriend. I am so disappointed about that, but I just gotta accept it! Thanks for your help anyway though! I apperciate it!
