Here's the track listing:
1. I'll Be Home For Christmas - Justin Guarini
2. Christmas Song (Chesnuts Roasting On An Open Fire), The - Kimberly Locke
3. Silent Night - Tamyra Gray
4. First Noel, The - Clay Aiken
5. Silver Bells - Clay Aiken/Kimberly Locke
6. Winter Wonderland - Christina Christian
7. This Christmas - Ruben Studdard
8. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Ruben Studdard/Tamyra Gray
9. White Christmas - Justin Guarini/Kelly Clarkson
Released on October 14.....
Here's my take on the cd.....I'm sorry, but I think it's horrible the way they on Nikki McKibbin....she WAS third place, after all, voted in by AMERICA, and she's not on there, but Tamyra is? Give me a break! I KNOW that they're just trying to screw Nikki, because the producers didn't like the fact that she beat Tamyra! She had to FIGHT to get out of her record contract with RCA, because they told her that she was going to sing country, and she said she wasn't selling out like that! Can you believe it? The others got to choose their genre though, but not Nikki!
And no Caldwell either? COME ON! I KNOW if they had approached Kimberly Caldwell about singing on a Christmas cd, she'd do it in a heartbeat!

No offence but why would they ask Caldwell? She wasn't even one of the more popular ones..
And all of the idols on this are signed to 19E (not sure about Kim though).

I don't know....maybe because Christina came in 6th last year and she's still on it.....and she wasn't a popular one!

ok notice that they have the top 3 from American Idol season 2... but for season 1, oh what's this? they skip Nikki McKibbin and include Tamyra Grey. Maybe people didn't think she sang that good, but the fact is, I've never seen anyone sing with so much passion, and emotion than Nikki, and she hasn't been included in anything, I haven't seen her on American Idol 2, or American Juniors as a guest performer... she's never included in anything, and that's just not right. And for RCA to tell her what genre she must sing, but let all the other Idols who signed on their lablel choose what they want? They are treating her like Sh*t and it's pissing me off, because she's a really special person, and doesn't deserve to be insulted and ignored like this, and it hurts me because I really admire her.
About Kim Caldwell... well Christina Christian was on the CD, why not Kimberly Caldwell? If anything Kimberly Caldwell is more popular than her! I'm not as mad about that, but the Nikki thing is just hiddious.

Caldwell doesn't strike me as having a very Christmas-y sounding voice.
But Clay and Kim L sounds awesome!

also, I think this was mentioned before...but I think the artists on there have a contract with 19E....so that could be another reason as to why.

That's kinda cool how they grouped people from both seasons to make a Christmas CD. I think the song that Ruben and Tamyra duet on will be really awesome! That's my all-time fave Christmas songs!

Unfortunetely, the songs that were selected for Nikki on American Idol were not good songs to showcase Nikki's voice, but more-so songs that reflected her image. I'm assuming you haven't heard Nikki's demos, in which she sings songs that do showcase her voice, and it's beautiful. If you are basing her voice on American Idol, then I'm not surprised, but you should hear some of her demos.
And America voted... it's no f***ing fluke. Geeze are you related to AJ in some way?

That might explain everything. If she's being what they consider difficult, why deal with her if they have other people that are more cooperative?

The other idols who got signed on the label got to choose what genre they wanted to sing, Nikki was told what she had to sing... up until that point Nikki was just as cooperative as the other idols, not DIFFICULT... Personally if they did that to me I'd tell them to ***** off and I'd fight to get out as well, my respect for RCA has disappeared after this. Nikki was not being difficult, they just treat her like sh*t, because of the Tamyra thing. And there are other singers on RCA that sing rock. It's just a case of them trying to make more freakin $$$$ and they don't give a sh*t about what Nikki wants. So if she's being difficult, in helping them make the most $$$$, then so be it, but like Paula said, Nikki would never sell out like that, she's gonna sing what her heart is into, and anyone who tries to make her do differently is greedy and heartless. I just hope Nikki will find a label that will respect her style and choose of Genre. It just hurts me so much, because Nikki has such a beautiful heart, and the way they abuse her is absoultely disgusting, she does not deserve to be treated that way at all, and it makes me sick.

Yay! These tracks sound awesome... I can't wait to hear the Tamyra/Ruben duet... that's gonna be AWESOME!
Nikki/Kimberly C don't have Christmas song voices anyway... unless they could sing "Rockin Around the Christmas Tree" together... lol! No reason to get all upset... I don't see what the big deal is personally. Most of America didn't like Nikki and can't understand why she finished ahead of Tamyra. 19 E made the right decision by putting Tamyra on it instead of Nikki IMO.

At this point I'm not really fussing about Nikki not being on the Christmas album, I'm mad about RCA telling Nikki what genre she must sing when she was on their label (she is no longer anymore, thank god)

"America" also voted Carmen into 6th place.

Agreed Shauna. "America" also voted Rueben as their American Idol. The bottom line is, it's not "America" who decides who is going to actually get a record deal or be on compilation CD's. That's up to the record companies and marketing genius' out there. Record companies obviously aren't interested in Nikki or Kim or Carmen or whoever else. I would be willing to bet, had people only been allowed to vote once a per night, the results of BOTH seasons would be very very different.

I totally agree with that. So how do you think Nikki, Kim C and Carmen got to where they did by America? Are you saying that there was some really dedicated fan who did like 1,000 votes per night? Maybe that's possible, but that makes you wonder... how come Tamyra didn't have a dedicated fan who would vote 1,000 times for her, because if they did then Tamyra might have finished ahead of Nikki, because of the sheer amount of people who liked Tamyra better. Maybe she wasn't as lucky? Maybe no one was inspired enough to put themselves out and vote 1,000 times for Tamyra, but Nikki did? Why wouldn't Tamyra inspire someone to do that, and Nikki would? My opinion is because Nikki was doing this for her son, and that touched someone (or maybe more people) and made them feel like voting. It would be nice to hear your theory on how she beat her. But please no saying that it was fixed or anything like that because it wasn't. I really would like to hear people's opinions!

I loved Kim's version of Killing Me Softly.
If Tamyra fans wanted her to place ahead of Nikki, then why didn't they vote enough for her. It's their own fault. Nikki placed ahead of her b/c people VOTED for her. *sigh*

I don't think it was fixed at all. This is what I think happened...Nikki, Kim C, Carmen even Julia and Josh were underdogs. People KNEW that Tamyra, Kim L, Justin, Kelly, Clay, Ruben would make it whether or not they were the American Idol. I think people voted for Nikki because of the sympathy factor (eg. her son) and they knew that if they didn't vote many times a night, she wouldn't make it very far. Tamyra, Kim L et. all had larger fan bases who only needed to vote once or twice a night and they knew that they would stay in the game. I did that for Carmen on this last season...I thought she was a really good singer but really had no chance of making it further on the show. I voted my ass off for her to help her stay in as long as possible and I'm sure others did the same. How else would she have stayed in as long as she did with most of the people watching did not like her nor voted for her? The reason why Tamyra went first was because people thought she had it in the bag and let off the voting, the same happened this last season when Ruben was in the bottom 3 at one point. After they saw that...they thought oh sh1t we better step it up and that's how he won over Clay.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

Yeah I won't be getting that CD.
1. There's only 9 tracks, hardly worth the money or the effort to download it.
2. The singers they chose are not all quality.
3. Kim Caldwell was not chosen because she wasn't particularly popular. Christina Christian was favored by Simon, thus getting her spot on the album. And as far as McKibbin...I thought she had completely cut ties with Idol?

Little about Josh? Well I guess if you consider never missing an episode or much less SECOND of American Idol from the first AND second season (and picking Kelly AND Ruben out from the moment I saw them as the winners)... and you consider that knowing "little?" lol. I know what I was shown along with America. :)
I love Ruben... you don't think he sing... Simon, Paula, Randy, and the majority of America thought he sang DAMN good. :D That's why he won.
I don't think that Josh can sing very well...he hurt my ears. My opinion... you obviously have a different one. No reason to get all defensive about it. Different opinions are what make the world go round.
I don't think you have "bad taste." It's just YOUR opinion about what type of singing you like.

Yeah and he made it to the top 4, which is amazing. Though the voting was obviously rigged, as that night he did worlds better than Kim. Anyway, my point was, do a little research before you make stupid comments like "he hurts my ears." How childish is that? You don't even know what you're talking about and you sound extremely unintelligent.
By the way, where IS Ruben? His popularity pretty much ended on the final night of American Idol, didn't it? lol

Umm yeah I believe he is working on his CD just like Kelly did for the months following HER win. A little jealousy there? Geez.
He DID hurt my ears... and my mom's... and my brothers. lol. He was OK some nights but some nights were just awful... he was out of tune... his voice was cracking and squeaking... I OBVIOUSLY do know what I'm talking about because I commented about it and then the judges said the exact same thing.
The votings rigged... hmmm I can't help but think you would think DIFFERENTLY if Josh had won. That's why THAT comment is hypocritical and unintelligent as well.
I have better things to do than sit here debating about whether Josh can sing or not. If he could sing so dang well, don't you think he would have a record deal by now? Seems like Trenyce, Ruben, Clay, Kim, etc. are all signed at this point.

The judges are expressing an opinion, and look at who they are. The creator of the Spice Girls, a washed up pop star, and a guy that wouldn't know proper English vocabulary if it smacked him in the face. You said the exact same thing they did? lol I wouldn't be too proud of that if I were you.
If Josh had gotten through that night, it would have been right because the voting was in favor of him, not Kim. It's obvious. I believe the true top 3 was Ruben, Josh, and Clay and so do many other people.
And like I said before, you know nothing about what's going on with Josh.

Hey, Josh Fan, you're obviously an idiot if you think Josh would have been in the top three. Ruben, Kimberly, and Clay sang circles around Josh EVERY SINGLE WEEK. The only reason why he got to stay so long was because he is in the service and people were being all "I LOVE AMERICA!!" at the time. Actually, he should have been the second one to be dismissed from the show (Carmen first, of course!)

Your argument is baseless. You're sitting there trying to tell a Josh FAN why she voted for Josh? Did you personally meet every single person who called in just ONE vote for Josh and ask them WHY they gave him that vote? That's what I thought.
Being the owner of the biggest Josh fansite on the web, I've come across so many Josh fans that it is literally dizzying. The general consensus is this...
Many of his fans love country music, and if they did not already like it before seeing him on American Idol, they BECAME country fans. His appeal as an excellent vocalist with a great stage presence, as a good father, husband and Marine brought in fans of all ages. I've talked to 12 year old boys, mothers in their 40s who hope their kids will look up to him, young wives of military men, teenage girls, and the older crowd who all adore Josh for various reasons.
As the show was coming to a finish, it was apparent that many American Idol viewers had shifted their voting. Instead of remaining loyal to one contestant, they dispersed their votes according to who they felt did best each night. The week Josh left the show, he out-performed and out-sang Kim Locke, whose stage presence and vocal delivery was surprisingly weak that night. Josh fans were unbelievably shocked at the result, and immediately began to share stories of suspicious things going on when they called to vote the night before.
Once more, I must reiterate that your argument is completely baseless. You are generalizing to the point that it is just foolish and completely invalid. You have no idea why people voted for Josh. Millions and millions of votes went out to these contestants, and Josh got as far as he did fair and square. Though many of us believe that he had earned his spot in the top 3 that night, and that Kim should've taken a plane home that week.

Actually, he should have been the second one to be dismissed from the show (Carmen first, of course!)
Agreed. Josh should have gone after Carmen... he was the second weakest link.
Cindy-You actually think Josh can sing better than Kim? Wow.

I think Kim is talented but Josh is my favorite in all aspects and that won't change.

LOOK at Ruben? How could you miss him?!
By the way, I met Ruben and Josh, as well as attended two of the American Idol shows sitting VIP with Ann Gracin and some of his other family members. It was the week Ruben was in the bottom two, and Trenyce was kicked off.

How was Ruben when you met him, Cindy? He was TOTALLY rude to us and anyone who wasn't in his group of friends....and we were backstage as guests of the IDOLS....so I can just imagine how he was with fans (not to mention he ditched a record signing in Detroit that day)!

I spotted him, walked up to him, and politely asked for an autograph. He wasn't particularly rude, but acted very disinterested. He did stop his conversation with someone else to let me get a picture with him, but overall I much preferred meeting Josh. I talked to him for 15 minutes about my website and other things, he gave me two hugs (when he walked up to me and right before he left), he was extremely easy to talk to and was very humble, and overall a normal guy. It was really cool.
I sat behind Rickey in the audience - he is by far the friendliest, most outgoing celebrity I've EVER met. His personality is overwhelming (in a good way)! What a wonderful guy. He definitely deserves to be in the industry somehow.

I wasn't there or anything and I know nothing about the situation, but everyone has bad days.
There are stories like that from EVERY celebrity.
Maybe he was just having an off day.

There's a difference between being "totally rude" (as Howie_Ds_Lady put it) and just having a bad day. Regardless, if you want to be popular with fans you have to be friendly, grateful, and willing to go the extra mile to be nice to a fan and give them some of your time if you are able to.
I've met a few celebrities since I was about 13, and I've found that most of them are very decent with how they treat fans, if not extremely nice. I would have to have a pretty bad experience to call out a celebrity like that and call them "totally rude." I can't speak for Howie_Ds_Lady, but that's just how I see it.

VERY doubtful...not when I talk to LOTS of people who have gome to various shows and have met him.....they all say the same thing as me....I bet you'd have the same experience if you met him! it's really sad, because I WANTED to meet him too! I never even really liked his personality on the show. He was just kinda...there. No personality. Kinda like Trenyce. But at least she smiled.

You're 100% correct, Cindy! That's why I found it so appalling that Ruben was acting like he did....to FANS who would buy his albums! Clay, on the other hand, was a charming gentleman, and Rickey was just a general, over-all nice guy! My two faves, though, would have to have been Kimberly Caldwell (of course) and Charlie Grigsby....they spend so much time talking to the fans about anything and everything!
For those of you who don't know about my experience with Ruben....here it is.....I bought a glossy of all of them to sign for when I went backstage....I saw the PERFECT opportunity to approach Ruben, so I did....I asked him to sign my glossy photo, and he grabbed it out of my hand, and signed it, not even looking at me as he practically threw it at me....My Mom asked him for one of those Ruben hugs she's heard so much about, and he rolled his eyes, and just gave her an armpit....and THEN when my Mom asked him if he could pose for a picture with my Aunt and myself, he looked at my Aunt and I, and said, LET'S GO! He didn't even smile for the pic....how incredibly, rude..and sad too! :(

UGH! Yeah, what an American Idol he is! Either America got it wrong, or American Idol is pulling some stunts with the voting. As much as I *loved* American Idol 2, it was a huge joke when it comes to how the voting turned out. I think they rigged it on particular nights.
Anyhow, I'm VERY sorry to hear you had that kind of experience with him. I'm wondering how many people he's treated that way. He didn't smile in my picture with him either!
I wish I could've met Charles, he seemed like a genuinely cool guy. I couldn't believe when he was voted off and Corey was kept.

Well, they couldn't get everybody for the album. Some of those former contestants (namely last year's group) might have decided not to be in the entertainment business. Only two singers have released albums and two more will be coming out with theirs soon. And Tamyra Gray is still making her album at this moment. I think that the restrictions of American Idol prevented them from doing projects they wanted to do, such as their own tours. I look forward to this Christmas album and if the singers improved on their singing and vocal ranges too. Sometimes the show's limited song list didn't match well with the singers' vocals.

Not true....Nikki was suposed to do an album, but was TOLD AFTER she signed what genre she was going to do....she said she wasn't selling out just to get a record deal, so she fought to get out of her recording contract....now it's like the show doesn't want to acknowledge that she was even a part of it, because of this!

Ruben was one of the nicest guys on the show. At least he was respectful and didn't harrass the judges like our honorable Marine did.
Why did Clay and Rickey and Charles and Kimberly say that Ruben was their best friend on the show if he's such a horrible guy? Yet you heard no one say that Josh was their best friend. Kelly and Justin have both RAVED about Ruben... saying how cool and sweet he is and how they wanted him to win from the beginning.
Ruben always addresses his elders with "yes m'am" and "no m'am" like a true southern gentlemen.
People believe what they want to believe. You desperately want to believe that Ruben is a bad guy Cindy, so you'll make yourself believe it.
There is a huge difference from being a little shy and reserved and sweet, and being a jerk.
He's my American Idol and I'm so happy that the right guy won. It's amazing how jealousy can eat people alive... LET IT GO people. American Idol was over months ago. Let's move on.
BTW, can't wait for Ruben's album and the Christmas CD.

The judges never gave Ruben a reason to defend himself. They treated him like a ****ing god when he's FAR from it. For monetary and promotional reasons, they OBVIOUSLY favored Ruben over anyone else. Therefore, he was never put in the position where he was insulted in front of a national audience.
Being a Marine doesn't take away your 1st Amendment rights. Because he's a Marine, he can't speak his mind? I think he handled Simon very nicely. But if you think those in the armed forces are somehow supposed to forget about their freedom of speech, then you are sadly mistaken and my dad (a retired Marine) would have a lot to say to you.
I don't believe I ever said Ruben was a bad guy. So where you got that from, I haven't the faintest idea. I simply read and responded to what Howie_Ds_Lady said and shared my own encounter with Ruben.
And sweetie, you're nothing but a hypocrite. You sit there and harpoon me for even remotely insinuating that the big tub of lard has a bad attitude to boot, then turn around and insult Josh because you know I like him?
Josh has reported several times that he and Clay are friends, and all the Gracins became close friends with Rickey. Maybe YOU never heard about these things, but I certainly did. So don't say something like that unless you know what you're talking about.
I'm not understanding what exactly you think I'm jealous of. Ruben is a poor performer, a bland vocalist, and is just gross to watch. That's my opinion. You might not like it, but don't you dare sit here and tell me I'm "jealous." There's nothing to be jealous of when it comes to Ruben.
