I thought since Aaron and Angel were twins, perhaps they wanted them to have matching initials, i.e. ACC. Aaron was Aaron Charles, so Angel would have to be Angel C____ and maybe they didn't have a lady C name, so Charisma sounded good! I mean, Angel Charlotte would have sounded kinda weird!

Nick got 'Gene' after his Dad and Grandfather. Aaron got 'Charles' after his grandfather. Leslie got 'Barbara' after her grandmother. BJ got 'Bobbie' after her father and 'Jean' after her grandmother.

I'm sure there's a reason why Angel didn't get a name from the family. Maybe she got one of her names from a more distant relative...

Hey all!:

I like this topic.:D Anywho, the Carter kids' full names are as followed:

Nickolas Gene Carter
Bobbie Jean Carter
Leslie Barbara Carter
Angel Charisma Carter
Aaron Charles Carter

Nicky was named after Saint Nick (because he was born a little after Christmas) and Gene is after his Dad's middle name.

Bobbie is after her Dad's name 'Bob', but her parents had added 'bie' to 'Bob' to make it 'Bobbie' and Jean is Jane's Mom's middle name.

I have no idea where Leslie had gotten her name, but her middle name is after Bob's Mom's first name.

Now, the twins were named after Bob's parents: and I'm thinking that Angel was named for these reasons.... Bob's mother is an [u]xxx[/] Angel[u]xxx[/] with a lot of [u]xxx[/]Charisma[u]xxx[/] and, of course, Aaron Charles is Bob's father's full name.

Good post! I think that is WEIRD about Saint Nick though. A little after Christmas? He was born a month later.

Nickolas Gene Carter
According to Nick himself his mother called him "Nickolas", with a 'k', after a character on her favorite show at the time he was born. I think Jane also wrote that in TH&SoNC.

"Gene" is because the first born son in each generation on his father's side has it as their middle name.

Bobbie Jean Carter
"Bobbie" is after her father, Robert, whose nickname is "Bob". They just jused the female version since it was a girl.

"Jean" is after after Jane's mother, Helen Neal.

Leslie Barbara Carter
I have no idea where they got "Leslie" from, lol, but "Barbara" is her Grandmother's name.

Angel Charisma Carter
I don't know why they called her that, but it's a really beautiful name :biggrin:
I think having the same initials for the Twins was one reason though, as someone else said.

Aaron Charles Carter
I don't know where they got "Aaron", but "Charles" is his grandfather's middle name.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but; The four (4) first letters in Angel and Aaron's middle names are exactly the same, lol.

We have a simular thing in my family on my mother's side, only it's the first born girl and not the first born boy ;)

Well, actually, now that I think of it.....is Bob's father an only child or does he have any siblings? If he's the oldest in his family, then wouldn't he have the middle name 'Gene', but if he's NOT the oldest, then the 'Gene' middle name doesn't apply to him. OK, now I'm totally confused. :funny: Man, do I wish I could just ask Nicky, these questions, myself. :( It would be a heck of a lot easier, no offense to anyone.:)

Bob's an only child.
His full name is Robert Gene Carter, that I'm absolutly sure of, lol.

Ok I understand what you were saying now. Do you know that Bob's father's middle name isn't Gene? I dont know what it is, just that his first name is Charles.

I'm just wondering if Bob's father, Chuck is an only child or if he's the oldest/youngest in his family, then if he's the oldest....why didn't he have the middle name 'Gene'? If he's an only child/youngest, then the name 'Gene' doesn't apply to him. Sorry, I just love to repeat myself.:funny:

So I'm not sure where the Aaron comes in? His name is Charles. Unless she wrote something different in Aarons book which I dont have.
