I watched the Cardiff West Ham game. Cardiff were two up courtesy of the magnificent Robert Earnshaw(13 goals in 10 games)but then Defoe will grab all the headlines because he scored a hat-trick. Cardiff just can't hold onto a lead. The Hammers got back into it with a penalty that wasn't, but I don't blame the referee because from his angle it must have looked like a penalty. It was a genuine mistake. Back to Earnie, you just can't help but love him! Here are the other results:

Bristol City 1-0 Watford
Cardiff 2-3 West Ham
Crystal Palace 2-1 Doncaster
Hartlepool 1-2 West Brom
Leicester 1-0 Crewe
Notts County 2-1 Ipswich
Portsmouth 5-2 Northampton
Rotherham 1-0 Colchester
Shorpe 2-3 Burnley
Sheff Utd 0-2 QPR
Stoke 0-2 Gillingham
Sunderland 2-4 Huddersfield
Tranmere 0-0 Nottm Forest
Wolves 2-0 Darlington
Wycombe 0-5 Aston Villa

As I keep going on about them and you probably all wonder who the hell they are, here are Robert's and Danny's pictures.

I saw the goals in that game. I thought the keeper should of kept out Defoe's 3rd

I saw You're On Sky Sports after and someone wrote in saying that Earnie is talented, Celtic should buy him! LOL.

Maybe. He's not City's first choice keeper though. What did you think of Earnie's second?

I didnt see the first half as I was at work. But on the 2nd half performance it was a well deserved win for my boys! Bring on Millwall. I knew Jem would find his form again soon enough.

I say you just edged it but it was the reverse in the first half. Cardiff were the better team playing all the football until you got a penalty.

It was a good finish. He's scored a lot of goals already in Division 1. I wonder if he can cut it in the premiership?

Tonights results:

Bolton Wanderers 3 - 1 Walsall
Everton 3 - 0 Stockport County
Middlesbrough 1 - 0 Brighton & Hove Albion
After Extra Time
Coventry City 0 - 3 Tottenham Hotspur
Leeds United 2 - 2 Swindon Town
Leeds win 4-3 on penalties
Oxford United 1 - 3 Reading

Paul Robinson (Leeds keeper) scored a header in added on time to take the game into extra time!

People said that last season before they went up. Can he score in the first division. In the words of Lennie Lawrence, "loos like it!" Earnie is just loved here! He always has a smile on his face. When he played for Wales a few weeks ago he got the loudest cheer over Giggs, Hartson and Speed!

I thought they changed the name from Carling also...

It was called the Worthington Cup but their sponsorship finished and Carling are the new sponsors so it's called that. Is that what you were asking? Interesting, Blackburn v Liverpool. That'll be a hard fixture. The 2002 winners v the 2003 winners.

The draw for the Carling Cup quarter finals was made a while ago but I forgot to post it. Here are the fixtures:
Bolton v Southampton
Aston Villa v Chelsea
West Brom v Arsenal
Tottenham v Middlesbrough

Ties to be played week commencing 15 December.

I can't wait! My dad would like Arsenal in the final because he could try and get a ticket like he did twice when Arsenal reached the FA Cup final in 2001 and 2002. I saw the draw being made and they had Andy Johnson(West Brom player)listening to the draw and when they drew out Arsenal his face was a picture! He took a big gulp and curled him bottom lip anxiously lol. However, Wenger doesn't put out his strongest side in the Carling Cup so West Brom have a chance if Wenger follows his trend. However, Arsenal didn't have their strongest side out against Wolverhampton and still whooped them 5-1!

Aston Villa beat Chelsea 2-1. What a great first goal from Angel! They play Bolton away in the semis and Arsenal play Middlebrough as they beat Tottenham on penalties tonight.

Ah Arsenal gonna win it all with their 'second' squad. Chelsea lost again, well wake up call for them, I think they should stop trying to buy more players and concentrate and improve on what they got! £50-60 for Henry and RVN each? OMG! :o

My dad doesn't think Arsenal will win their semi-final. He thinks Middlesbrough will be stronger over two legs than Arsenal's second string side. We'll find out soon.

Maybe Arsenal will field more of their first team players, since they came that far I'm sure they want to win it all, especially for their youngsters.

muffins
Dec 20th, 2003, 02:48 PM
It depends on what team Arsenal field, although they do have some talented youngsters, particularly this one 16 year old; I'll find out his name. Arsenal have the Premiership, the FA Cup and the Champion's League to deal with so I think the League Cup is bottom of their priorities.

Yup, never thought of it. But didn't they won once recently by filelding first team players or was it another team, lol.

In a game with a lot of goals Bolton Wanderers beat Aston Villa 5-2 in their first leg. There were some great goals, espeically Jay Jay's free kick. Utter class! I have to watch the frican Cup of Nations to see this kind of magic lol!

Bolton narrowly won on aggregate 5-4. Villa scored twice in the second leg to make it a very interesting last few minutes but Bolton just about held on and are on their way to Cardiff! Congratulations to them!

My dad hopes Bolton win it and I don't think he's just got sour grapes cos Boro beat Arsenal. My dad thinks that taking into consideration the players they have Boro are the most negative side in the league. I must admit, I hope Bolton win. Long way to come for the fans but I'm sure they'll have a good time.

Well, it's the final this weekend. I don't have any reason to support either team but at this moment in time I'm going to Boro because they've never one a trophy and I've just seen the little girl who will lead out the team on TV and she's just got over cancer and has helped raise lots of money.

I had a good day! And I'm sure Middlsebrough fans had a good day too as they won 2-1 and now have a trophy in their cabinet after 128 years! Congratulations to Steve McClaren and his team. The atmosphere was great in town and a good time was being had by all I think. :)
