The Trouble With Love Is. At first, I was very much against it being released, but I'm not too much against it anymore. I don't feel that pop radio will accept it too much, but I think other formats will. It is the best written song on her album IMO, and the good thing is that she co-wrote it. It is the type of song that appeals more to the 40+ crowd than possibly any song of hers, so it may help her when it comes to the Grammys. And it is on a soundtrack which may be popular(the movie has Hugh Grant in it). I think she already made the video for it. Jim Verraros appears in it. And it has a party scene in it. I can just see people calling it Before Your Love part 3. It has already been stated that You Thought Wrong will be her fifth single(I am including AMLT). That song is much more for pop fans than TTWLI is. It looks like they're giving up on Low. It has peaked at number 58. Those hot AC stations aren't playing it much for some reason. I'm not too disappointed with 58. At least it reached the top 100, which is more than many pop songs can say. I just wish they release my favorite song of hers, Beautiful Disaster, soon, but I don't think they will.

It's good to see the Kelly fans come on this thread and not her haters. Kelly has talked about Just Missed The Train, so it probably will be released if she releases anything after You Thought Wrong. I know there are a lot of people who don't like TTWLI, but it's a soulful ballad, and I think ballads do better around the holiday season, don't they? It's hard to predict how well it will do.

I remember that it was her mom's favorite song, so maybe that had something to do with the choice for the single: appealing to an older audience. I just can't wait until YTW is released!! ;)

Kelly Clarkson's "Low" only went to No. 58? I thought it would continue the pattern that "Miss Independent" (which went to No.7) did. That song is good; it sounds like something the band Matchbox Twenty would do. Maybe the wrong season and climate to release it--it sounds more of a winter song. I like "The Trouble With Love Is" as the next single. It sounds very 1982 a song to me, the way pop songs sounded that year. I think that they chose "Trouble" to show more of Kelly's voice this time, a more mature (gulp!) ballad (see people like to use that M word a lot, but I'd like for them to just tear it up on their songs!) , what listeners didn't get to witness over the background music on "American Idol." There are still people out there that have never even heard of Kelly and they want to tackle that unheard audience. But I am pleased that her "Thankful" album is on its third single, the album sold on its own strength and that she has been more visible this year as a singer. She's sounding better with each TV performance she sings on.

At least it seems that YTW is a popular song. I hope that does very well on radio. It's much more popish than most of her songs, so it could do very well on radio. And it's a collaberation. But TTWLI does help showing off Kelly's diversity, and could appeal to people who haven't heard her much yet. First there was a ballad(AMLT), then pop(MI), then somewhat of a country-rock song(Low), then TTWLI(soulful ballad), and then another popish song(YTW). I am hoping JMTT is then after that, but I don't know about that. I do love that song. I think the thing about Low is that it has somewhat of a country feel to it, so that does turn off a lot of pop fans.

This is what I heard from director over at the Express. A friend of Kelly's has stated that she can hit the high notes that Mariah has hit but hasn't yet shown it to people. I would so love to hear it if she can hit a note that high. And I apologize to Mikehunt for bumping my own thread but, if you've noticed, this is my first thread about Kelly all month thus far. Ever since you said I was obsessed with her, I have been trying to keep it much more quiet about her. And I have.
