Large Version of the album cover so you can really check it out. Ignore the funny looking stuff on it... It happened during the resize... http://toni-online.com/whitneycover.jpg

Nice picture
Nice songs
Will I buy it? No

All I can think of when I see her is how she's screwed up her life and wonder what she sees in her husband.

I agree that she looks absolutely gorgeous in that picture, and like Jenn, I'd be very happy if she actually looks that good now.

Other than One Wish and the last track, Who Would Imagine a King, neither of which I've ever heard of, the tracks on the album are classics that I think Whitney would record classically.

I think I might buy this one!

like everyone else has said... the songs are classics and i bet she did them justice....

if i don't buy it, im sure my mom will.... we are suckers for holiday albums!

She does look absolutely gorgeous! No matter what has happened to her in her personal life, her voice has always been there. I have always loved "Who Would Imagine a King" from The Preacher's Wife. I will buy it. Thanks for posting it TJ!

Well she looks gorgeous. When I saw Bobbi, I thought "Oh God, not that man she calls a husband!" But I was wrong! :) I'm happy to see something about her daughter.

Although I like Whitney, I don't have any of her albums, but the fact that she is coming with a Christmas album makes me want to go out and buy it because as mentioned before she would record them classically. Just make it sound real in tune with the season. But I'll hold out and wait til TJ says something. ;)

Nawh... Talk freely... I'm not going to say anything to sway the conversation. The reason behind this was that at the Whitney site we (the hardcore, sleep outside all week just to catch a peek of her wig, fans) had a huge disagreement about a major point of the album. When we saw everything that I posted above we picked it up right away. I wanted to see if the general non Whitney-fanatics would notice what we noticed. But so far nobody has. So that's a good thing. This is also helping me compile my research of people's feelings about the Christmas album. Thanks ya'll... If anyone has any more comments then by all means please feel free to roll through and drop a comment. Thanks!

I was really really curious about what was "wrong" with it, and I think I found out what the disagreement was after some research.

I'm not sure though.

If it is what I think it is, non-obsessed fans like myself won't notice.

LOL, sorry to be so secretive, but I didn't know if TJ still wanted to keep it non-judgemental.

Alright high five to Katlin for being so inquisitive... What do you think it is? Go 'head and divulge your information... I’m kinda curious to see if you got it right.

LOL. Stuff like that bugs the crap out of me. I need to know, even if I don't really care that much.

From what I read at some random Whitney board, are people complaining because that is an old picture from some magazine shoot?

I'm gonna feel really dumb if I'm wrong, lol.

lol... Don't feel dumb... you're right. It's not an old shoot, but the cover is an extra shot from an issue of Essence she did a month or so ago. So it's not old as in years ago, but it's old in the since we have already seen it. We wanted a new picture b/c we didn't like the recycled picture. It makes the record company look lazy, and slack in the promotion of this album... Other than that, we have no problem with it... I love the tracklisting...

But outside of the hardcore Whitney fan circle no one else seemed to catch that. Either here, or a other boards people bought the info too for 'research.' So maybe it's not that bad... I just wanted some new pictures of my girl...

Yay for me!

I never would have known in a million years had I not been loserish enough to "research".

Like "mississippilessly"???????

And what on earth does that mean, anyway?

HipHopChristian
Oct 15th, 2003, 03:30 PM
lol, wouldn't it be funny if I was like... "okay, how cheap are these record execs.. they used the same shoot from Essence!"... lol?

and me, a regular person... would know that.

Katlin
Oct 15th, 2003, 03:32 PM
LMAO.

From Friends last week. Ross went to get a fake tanner sprayed on and they told him to count to 5 and then turn around and he goes "One Mississippi....Two Missississippi..." and they sprayed him and he goes "You didn't give me enough time! You didn't say to count Mississippilessly!"

LMAO. Oh boy. Now you've started me up again. Laughing hysterically.

Did I really say that on here?

I don't remember...

HipHopChristian

LMAO! I didn't see Friends last week, so I think I would of notice if you said it on the board... I don't remember u saying it lol

pinky
Oct 15th, 2003, 07:30 PM
Ah, but Katlin, you DID say it! In the Interview thread, you asked, "Did you use the word 'mississippilessly' in a sentence today?"

(The answer was, of course, no)

Katlin

O crap! I didn't even notice. Now that you've mentioned it, the picture does look familiar. Am I late? :) I guess since they added words to it, I didn't notice. :nc: You're right it could be the record label, but I highly doubt that. Even if they don't promote records properly you'll always have new photos. At least that's what I think. Perhaps Ms. Houston couldn't make it that day or didn't want to have new photos taken?

BTW, I'll still wait for your report to buy her Christmas Album. I need some variation. I have *NSYNC, Christina (which I've listened to once) and um....*NSYNC. :p
