OT: Football Rant....Why Do Fans Have to be So Cocky!

My school plays a league football game this week. This game will determine who wins the conference championship. It is a battle between the two teams who are tied for first place in the conference. You must understand, we are in a league where 5 of the 6 schools are bigger Division I schools. We are the only Division III school. At this message board I post at, people from the opposing school are incinuating that since we are a lower division school that this will be a cake walk for the "better" Division I team. I pointed out that we beat the #1 team in the state in Division II last year, and that we came thisclose to beating the #1 ranked team in our region during playoffs last year. I pointed this out to the people posting the negative comments, and they more or less told me to wake up and realize that we had no chance.

I know this thread seems kind of pointless, but I'm sick and tired of our school not getting any respect in sports because we are small. The athletes work just as hard, if not harder, than those at bigger schools.

No, this Friday is our second to last game. I'm going home for the last game next week.:D. Then, hopefully playoffs the week after that.
