How rich are Jess & Nick??

I'm just curious. I never was a 98 degrees fan or a Jessica Simpson follower so I'm not sure exactly how BIG they are in terms of stardom. I do know that 98 degrees was never an NSync or Jessica was never a Britney (in relation to how much money they made or popularity) but they have been out of the spotlight for quite a while but seem to have a pretty lucrative life going on. Exactly how much money do they have???

Now I am just guessing but that's what makes this fun.

I would guess that between the two of them musically they probably had about 2 million each - giving them 4 million total.

Then they have signed for two seasons of Newlyweds. I don't know how much they signed for, but lets guess a million for both seasons total.

So that's 5 million.

Then they have royalties coming in from their music being played on the radio. At least jessica does, I have never heard any Nick or 98 Degrees songs on the radio. I would guess probably 100,000 a year from royalties. (radio, merchandise...)

then they do little odds and ends, concerts, radio appearances, and whatnot.

But then they have a million dollar mansion (morgage), bills, new cars, louis vuitton (other brand name things).

lol, i tried to calculate that out a few weeks ago also, here's what I came up with:

Jessica's 3 albums has sold (so far) a total of about 3,000,000 copies, so mulitply that by $12.00 (on average) per cd, and take about 15% of that (the record label and executives get most of the money made off cds...I'm totally guessing on what percentage Jessica actually gets) and we get: $5,400,000 from cds.

For Nick, I'm guessing it will be about the same since 98 Degrees has sold much more albums than Jessica, but he has to split it 4 ways.

So, I would guess a little more than 10 million between teh 2 of them.

SpriteRite, I would think 5 million is too small cuz that area they live in is one of the most expensive in So.Cal, there are no new homes under a million there. ;)

rich yeah, and jessica's abusing it!!! Thank God she's got Nick who seems pretty practical with the spending. I love em though. I wish I could spend craploads on underwear. If I bought $700 of anything, I'd be in debt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just a wild guess, i'd say between $10 & 12 million together. alone i bet she's worth more than him. simply because her debut did fairly well w/ sales & airplay. her 2nd & 3rd albums' first singles did alright. so i'd say she's worth $6-7 m. because of 98 Degrees 2nd album he's probably worth $4-5 m.

yeah i think Jesica has more $$$. i dunno if this relates like @ all but like if ya the newlyweds episode when they were makin their vids jessica had a MUCH BIGGER budget she could go with.

also yeah sweet kisses did really well. and since jessica is only one person...she doesn't hafta worry about splitting and stuff. but yeah newlyweds is bringing them in a lot of $$$ now. sumone said that it's only now that jessica is really starting to see the $$$. cuz yeah she was no britney or nuttin.

Would'nt that be nice!! The truth is, artists generally don't see any money off album sales unless/until they have sold multi millions. It's usually almost ALL owed to the record label by the time the album is actually released for various reasons (reimbursement for advances, studio time, etc.). Any artist will tell you that an average deal is 30 cents per album. 80 cents is awesome and only the biggest stars get those kinds of deals. Most of their money comes from touring and concerts. That's why so many artists are starting their own labels now. They realize where the real money is and who's getting rich off of them.

jessica's first album was certified 3 X platinum in the states alone..
maening that 3 million copies were bought from the record company..

her second album was certified gold in the staes..
don't know about worldwide sales

Her first album was certified 2x platinum. But I doubt she makes more than $1 from every album sold. The Dixie Chicks had to sue to even make $2 and they get songwriting credits too.
