MTV Europe: Britney Vs Xtina Weekend
Though she claims to be "not yet a woman," Britney's musical style has certainly matured since her 1999 debut, and as her recent image change has shown she's taking on a whole new style. Gone are the timid, shy smiles and pretty dresses and in their place are the sexy, sassy images which are an even farther step along from the newly provocative Brtiney we were introduced to in her last album.
With her new release just round the corner Britney is firing up for a return to the top of the charts, and is set to show us who the girl next door has, as she embarks on a more mature album. But will she have an easy ride back to the top when faced with the full on sass of rival X-Tina?
Miss Down'n'Dirty's "Stripped" album laid bare the new direction her adult career was taking, as she broke free from the mass media mask of pop princess, and introduced us all to the dirt beneath the perfect packaging.
So "Come On Over" to MTV as we put the two girls up against one another and dedicate a whole weekend to the not so wholesome girls next door. Will Britney remain "Overprotected" or will she storm the charts and prove to truly "Love Rock n' Roll"? Will Christina show that she is a real "Fighter" and battle
Britney for the illustrious raunchy popstress title, shouting you "Can't Hold Us Down"? That's for you to decide.
