OT: Taking Back Sunday

Ok so I had this idea in the shower today... no really I was washing my hair when I thought of this.

There's alot of random bands we all talk about that other may not know.

So we should all pick one each week to highlight them!!!

I decided to pick this amazing awesome oustanding band called Taking Back Sunday.

Yes I know they had some beef and they lost thier best member in May ::sheds tear:: but they are seriously one of the best bands out right now in my opinion.

They're single right now is called "You're so last summer" and it's my favorite song off the album. But the whole cd is crazy crazy good.

"Cute without the E (Cut from the team)" is the greatest video in the world. If you like the movie Fight Club you'll love the video.

If your a Brand New fan "There's no I in Team" will sound familiar.

So yeah give em a whack and tell me what ya think :)

I've only heard a couple songs. I heard You're So Last Summer on the radio the other day and I definitely liked it. :)

Did you hear why the other 2 departed?

:rolleyes: i lost some respect for them, but none the less TBS is ok, there music is good.

I just can't stand them as people.

That's not what i read/heard.. if so i still dont like them as people, so it doesn't really matter.

Eh, I'm just not feeling their music. Of course this was months ago when I heard them, so my taste in music has changed. Cause back then, the only rock I listened to was GC and SP, and now I listen to everything pop-punk pretty much. Although I realize they aren't pop-punk, but I also listen to some "emo"

John and Shaun left because they didn't want the same thing from the band that Adam Ed and mark wanted. Adam has been repeated quoted calling himself an "attention *****" and holds no "hard feelings" to the guys who left. They've always been best friends and still are.

EDIT: I got that from AP if anyone is wondering cause there was mad rumors going around why they broke up (rumors that are really funny actually lol).

John and Shaun have formed another band with Johns sister and the guitarist from Breaking Pangaea called Straylight Run
( www.straylightrun.com ) and they're really good as well.

You can't stand them as people?!!? You don't even know them....

You didn't even know the story of the breakup so you judged them before you even heard the reasons.

No they do not like each other.

Ironically they're 2 of my favorite bands.

Brand New made the shirt "Because the mics for singing not swinging" (cause Adam swings the mic like a mofo and usually drops it)

Taking Back Sunday fans got pissed so TBS made a shirt that says "Proudly Swinging Since 1999"

I could really care less if they hate each other but it is sort of funny.
To tell ya the truth I don't think Taking Back Sundays going to get much credit when they come out with their second CD. They lost John...

Just got back from seeing Taking Back Sunday at Roseland... holy hell what a great show. Saves the Day was eh... lol but I'll post a better review later :)

I've liked TBS for about a year now, actually. Awesome awesome band, I tell ya. Their whole CD is awesome, wish I could see them live.

Okay so I am officially in love with You're So Last Summer. Everytime I hear it on my local rock station, I crank it right up. I need this cd. I actually had it in my hands on Friday but I went with The Essential Clash cds and the SP dvd instead. I got all the way to the check-out before setting it back down. Dammit. I want way too many cds. I must have this one though.

my friend got me hooked on TBS and I went to my first TBS concert last month and ... heh... I met Adam ... he is so ****** nice he was thanking me and my friend constantly for coming and I got a pic with him and some of him when I met him I can honestly say he is one of the nicest guys I have ever met!
