Even at 58 years of age, platinum-haired rock legend Rod Stewart can still sell himself like a high-class hooker. But his best efforts couldn't unseat an "American Idol" runner-up.
Clay Aiken's Measure of a Man will hold tight to #1 on the Billboard albums chart for the second week in a row with 225,000 copies sold, according to SoundScan figures released Wednesday (October 29). The singer's two-week run puts a little added pressure on Ruben Studdard, the "Idol" who bested Aiken on the TV show. Studdard's debut album, Soulful, has now been pushed back from November 11 to December 9.

It would have been something if there was a Clay-Ruben showdown on the charts. Clay at No. 1 one week, then Ruben becoming No. 1 the next week, and so on. But their record labels don't want that to take place. To me, those two singers are the hottest names in music right now along with Beyonce. People know them from TV and away from it on the music front. Clay is just red hot with his sales, even outselling the Eagles and Rod Stewart!

One report says that Ruben Studdard's album is coming out Dec. 9th. Then another magazine says November 25th. What is the real date? Can't the record company make up its mind when they want to put Studdard's album out? It's going to be a big seller regardless of what day it's going to be released.
