When Mariah would release a cd and the entire world would be excited? Like with Music Box, Daydream, Butterfly, or even Rainbow. She would release number one after number one from those albums and everyone loved her and wanted to be like her. I was just wondering when she would be releaseing her next cd or if there was any news on who she's working with or possible tracklisting or a tentive release date or anything. It sounds stupid and unrealistic now, but I really want the whole Mariah Phenominon (Sp?) to start up again and have one of her best cds ever. After all, shes only what? 32, 33 years old? She couldn't have peaked yet.

I think she's peaked.

But yes, I remember......going to number 1 for her was not a problem at all.... :( now it seems to be!

all she needs to do is put her clothes back on and SING her songs like she used to. No more RnB & guest rappers.
If she did that, i'm sure she would get 80% of the fans back.

i loved those days!!
i think most of it is because she does most of her songs with rappers and they're way more on the hip hop side than her old stuff. if she released another album like her early albums then i think she would win back so many people

lucky you.

BTW....i heard she was singing ''Without you'' on one of her recent concerts....is that true?
This is my favorite song of all her songs, and my favorite song ever...i didn't know she could still sing it......it's so difficult.

Unfortunately I do believe Mariah has peaked. Hey, she will always be *Mariah Carey*, you know, she will still sell quite a lot of CD's and be in mags and all that... But no, the 90's Mariah craze won't come back.

And I don't think it matters if she starts wearing turtlenecks shirts and long gowns and sing songs similar to Without You again... That is not the 'big thing' anymore. In the 90's Whitney, Mariah and Celine were like queens or something! Now everything is different! You can't deny that the music business has changed A LOT.

I'm just glad I enjoy most of her new stuff as much as her old, so I as a fan can appreciate her music. If the critics and the rest of the world don't like... Doesn't matter to me.

yeah...none of them....Toni, Whitney, Mariah, Celine....are as successful as they once were because big ballads aren't the thing anymore. Even if she did the same music she wouldn't be selling 10 million albums. Musically she really hasn't changed that much. She's always always ALWAYS been r&b, she's just doing the popular things and incorporating hip hop. But she's been doing it for almost a decade...you'd think people would be used to it by now....

Anyway, yeah she's probably peaked but I mean seriously who else can say that they totally ruled a decade, a whole 10 year period? If she never has another #1 in her life her contribution to music is set. If you listen to Beyonce or Christina or mostly any r&b artist you'll hear Mariah's influence.

The only thing I would suggest is to cover up her breasts. She needs to get those implants removed or make them smaller cause they are crazy....

Mariah has changed with the musical trends... If she continued to wear those gowns and turtle necks, her career would have been over in '96...

You all critisize her for working with the rappers, but she started a musical revolution when she began mixing hip hop with pop. Do you realize how many fans she GAINED doing that alone?

She may never be as 'big' as she once was, but the woman is still always going to be able to sell records.

^ I agree with you on some points, but I think that if she had stayed with gowns and at least half covered herself (ie. in the Butterfly era), she would still have tons of fans.

I think the main thing is, her music just went downhill. Glitter was a mess, Charmbracelet wasn't THE comeback I thought it would be. Clothes are just a distraction on top of everything.
