Britney Spears refused to do red carpet interviews at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles and took off from the ceremony as soon as her opening performance was over. "She jumped in a car and was out of there," an eyewitness revealed. Star adds that on the previous night, Spears partied at the Spider Club, the VIP lounge at Hollywood hot spot Avalon, looking like she felt the effects of a grueling schedule. "She looked messy," a fellow partier remarked.

She rushed the red carpet because she opened the show and had to get dressed and her hair put on and everything else.

She did...she talked to Lance...also she was the opening act...


and took off from the ceremony as soon as her opening performance was over. "She jumped in a car and was out of there,

obviously since she was not up for any awards...and she had to be in LA the next day to receive her star and be on Leno...

The AMA's were in LA. So she was already in town. But dang why would the girl want to sit through a long ass award show when I'm sure she was exhausted. She had to get up for the star thing on Monday and had to do Leno and then had to fly to New York for the release date.
I'm glad she got to get away for the holiday though, even though the cameras still found her.
