No you're right. If you were Jane, you'd be figuring out how to make some money off of us. Although she kind of already has, since it was the little people who post on this little message board who financed her little cars and little houses. I don't see why this place would need a mod. There's something called freedom of speech. People should be allowed to post whatever they want. If you don't like it then don't click on it but I do not believe it is right for other people to interfere with other's freedom of speech or whatever.
I truly believe there should never be any mods on any message board anywhere. We're all grown people who can take care of ourselves. We can handle ANYTHING we read here. So why should we have a mod that just b/c they don't agree with something close it? Or whatever? Don't like it, don't click. Well said! I think the mods are mainly here to keep the boards in order and make sure that nothing gets out of hand. Because, sad as it is to say, there are people in this world who have trouble accepting the opinions of others.

People are gonna make assumptions whether there's moderators here or not. All having moderators here does is prevent them from making them here. But people are still gonna talk. I know I do. When I know I can't say something on LD I say in in my secret, private online journal, to my friends,etc.
So really what are you accomplishing? And really who cares if people make assumptions? It's gonna happen. It happens everyday even to normal, nonfamous people. People gossip. It's just human nature. Just let people be and if you feel a thread is getting out of hand just exit out and don't click on it again. It's not that hard.

Just like every board on LD the moderators aren't here all the time so please be a little patient. I'm sure that there are people here that would love to be "in charge" that is until people don't like one thing you do and rag on you for it, trust me all it takes is one "mistake". Most days I am here the majority of the time but there are a few hours some days when I need to take care of personal issues...no one can be here 24/7 and until now there really hasn't been a need for a moderator here. If you'll all notice there hasn't been a thread like this in a few days so until threads like this become a major issue then we're all good.

As a general rule please do not reply to a thread you think needs to be closed, it only bumps it back to the top and eggs the trouble makers on. This thread wouldn't have been a problem if people could have reported it and bumped other threads over it until I could get to it. Thanks to those who took the few seconds to click the report link to let me know about this as soon as I got on, I really appreciate that!
