Lat night at church my pastor gave us some interesting thoughts on this. Resolutions are good and promote us to reach a goal we want. But the most important thing is our relationship with our Lord. He told us to delight in Jesus.
I had to really sit back and think what all that entailed. If you do you'll see that it's our total being. Delight has always been a beautiful and bubbly word for me. To thnk we have something in this world that we can feel that way about, being in His presence, even in our worst and most sorrowful times.
Maybe you'd like to read our scripture for last night. It was very enlightening scripture.
Psalms 37:1-11
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Now if that's not a wonderful and miraculous promise what is? To think if we only delight in our Lord He will give us whatever we desire. That's enough to strive for all the closeness to Jesus we can get. I really like that thought to bring in the New Year. We also had a great meal with fellowship of all our church family and I was very fortunate to have my immediate family there and the rest there in thought.
I hope all of you had a wonderul New Year, and today and each day through the year brings more blessings than you've ever had before because of your belief and faithfulness to our Lord and Savior. :)
