Snakes arent that bad. I attended a church once and the preacher was criticizing snakes and almost everyone was agreeing, except me.
Here in WV we have 22 types ( 20 species and 2 subspecies) of snakes. Only two are poisonous, the northern copperhead and the timber rattlesnake. Although most snake bites in West Virginia are caused by copperheads, no fatalities from copperheads have been recorded in a very long time, decades.
Snakes are essential creatures in nature.
Oh, sorry, dont mind me, Im a nature enthusiast. :)

I was out shopping for frogs yesterday, & they had a baby water snake, with a water bowl full of tadpoles just like the ones i was buying... I don't hate snakes though, used to see a lot of them in the outback.

I seen a baby water snake, though Im quite sure it was different from the one you had saw Brad, last summer while I was hiking. So graceful in the water.
I used to have newts as pets, the fire bellied ones. :)

I have a large turtle, 17 fish, & about a dozen tadpoles in a pond, & a tank with tropical fish & 2 baby turtles.

Cool! I love turtles, but I dont think I could ever have one as a pet, unless I get a special tank just for one.
I have a large tiger oscar in one tank and some tropical fish in the other.

You can get these "floating turtle islands" for a tropical tank, & if you buy baby turtles & raise them with fish, they never aquire a taste for eating them.
The babies need heated water for a few years, then they can be released into the pond when they're bigger.
Recently I bought a large turtle & put it in the pond, & he immediately started feasting on fish, needless to say he went back to the shop ASAP.
