Sigh. So I got a new phone, since in my Verizon contract, I can get a new phone for $100 off (plus I got another $70 rebate, so really I got a $200 phone for $30).

Anyhow... so I downloaded my ringtones. Very exciting. But I can't DO anything with them. They're all quite lovely (ranging from Hey Ya to Hangin Tough to Bye Bye Bye to Gangsta Lovin... etc etc) but I can't get them to work on the phone.

So I'm sitting here with a technician for the phone... and he's talking me through setting it up. But now I confused him so he's gotta look something up. Sigh.

So this is almost more trouble than it's worth. But the fun thing is, it's a camera phone. So once I figure out how that all works, it will be quite fun. But one thing at a time. Ringtones are all I can handle at this point. Then voice activated dialing is next.

Oh yeah, and adding my entire phone book into it. Because I can't access my OLD phone book, because my old cell is dead dead deadsky... so I have to have all my friends call me or email me with their numbers... quite irritating, lol.

But I'll get there, sooner or later. I hope. ;)

(*#)@&*(^(@# for crying out loud... he doesn't even have the same phone I have... so he's got to call me back... because he doesn't know how it works. Great.

Sigh. This is a killer phone, but I'm gonna shoot someone here soon.

When I got my camera phone I didn't know how to email pictures to my computer (or anyone's email for that matter), so I called T-Mobile and asked them who I would speak to about that. Oh my gosh... it took like, so long and so much holding... but we finally got it.

And about the phone book. I have that little SIM card thingie that you can just take out of your old phone, into your new.. and bam, all your numbers are transfered into the new phone. Kinda like a computer disk with saved info lol. You don't have that?

I might, but I'd have no idea where to find it or anything. LOL! It's easier to just leave it as is. I entered in most of the numbers. The stupid thing is I still can't use the ringtones I downloaded, so that's really annoying.

Awww poor Mel!!! I am jealous of your new phone though, i need a new one like there is no tommorow, i hate mine! And i am jealous of your 'Hey Ya' and 'Hangin Tough' ringtones!! It took me almost an hour to use my composer and get "Give it to you", and the end sounds weird! Whatever! If i drop my phone one more time it will probably die anyways! lol

I did figure out how to email myself pics... can your roomie tell me how to get the ring tones to assign? Because I have 20 of them on the phone and I can't USE any of them (which is making me REALLY mad).

To email:

Go to media gallery and then 'pix'

Choose one of the pictures, and click "ok" when you find the one you want to send (the "ok" button in the middle is underneath the "send" button on the screen).

It will say "send to" and you will click the button on the right under "edit" - it will bring up a page where you can type up to a certain number of email addresses or phone numbers (if you want to send to other camera phone users).

Anyway - so then click the button on the right "NUM" and it will give you 4 options - choose Abc because then you can type in an email address. Once you finish entering the full email address, click "ok" - you can put a subject / message if you want but you don't have to.

Then click "send" (the "ok" button) and you're done.

Let me know how that works for you guys.
