If you have the patience to read the gobs of writing on this site, it is um...interesting.
The Agnostic Church (http://www.agnostic.org/)
Basically, the creator of this website wants to make Agnosticism an organized religion for political purposes. At least that's what I've gathered from his ramblings so far.
I'm Agnostic, but I find this man to be a bit extreme.

I would agree that he seems a bit extreme but I guess I'd expect there to be several people that take their "religion" to the extreme. I'm not sure, and maybe someone could explain it to me, what making it an organized religion would do politically. And I guess my thought was that if you were an athiest or even agnostic you would somewhat be against organized religion, not necessarly for others but for yourself...that's just what I've gotten from people I've talked to that belive along those lines.

From my understanding, most agnostics and athiests are against organized religion -- myself included.

That's interesting because this man seems to be for the exact opposite. I guess I don't see a point in organizing for the sake of having no belief...does that make sense? I mean, if you're interested in gardening then you may want to join a gardening club or maybe your thing is sports, crafts, cooking, whatever it may be but what exactly would you be joining a group for as an athiest?

I kind of see why he wants to do it. Organizing an athiest/agnostic church would give people with our views more of a hold in the government. Since we're not organized, it is much harder for our views to be heard and accepted against large organized religions in a political sense..

But wouldn't it be smarter just to make it an organization instead of a church? I do understand the point of getting your views heard but to me a church is a place of worship for some form of religion and with the views of an athiest/agnostic a church seems to be an odd way to go. Maybe you could fill me in a bit more on what agnostic means to you, that help me to understand how a church would work.

I don't know, I disagree with his notion to create an agnostic church. He's an extremist of sorts, not a true representation of Agnosticism as a whole.
