View Full Version : So, do you have Fish & Chip shops in America?

Forgive me, but I LOVE American's. I just wondered cos in England we have em all over the place and Balti's and Curry's are more in than Chinese which seem's to big real big in America.

Why do they call Gooey Duck, gooey duck when it's clam?

Where I live it's the Balti capital. I don't like them types of food though, I LOVE potatoes !!!

There's nothing like the taste of chip shop chips and the smell is gorgeous !!! I have a chip shop at the end of my road and another one at the other end and also two pubs at either end as well.

I don't have them very often as they are very fattening, but it's a treat when I do have em. If I ever come to America I shall seek out a chip shop. I want to visit New York one day. New York is the home of Saturday Night Live (1975-1980) and Kate & Allie.

Yes and no. Cos French Fries over here in Britain are long thin chips and the proper British chips vary in length but are thicker than the French ones. Chips from the Chippie over here are gorgeous, wrapped in paper and smothered in salt and vinegar. The smell is special. I don't eat fish (or meat), but sometimes a bit of the batter get's in with the chip's and even that taste's nice. They are exteremely fattening though.

There are fish and chip places in the US but they're not all over the place. Fish and chips from England is to die for... and it can't compare to the fish and chips in the US. But as a matter of fact, I have 2 different fish and chip places about 5 to 8 minutes from my house in both directions.

Yeah I don't know of any in Michigan but in some resturants you can order fish and chips. And I think the Chips are French Fries there too, but I may be wrong.
