I was fooling around in my control panel, under appearance and themes, and all I was doing was checking some stuff out. I clicked on a different theme, and afterwards my pages are wider, much wider. For example, when I go onto the net, the x in the upper right hand corner is so far to the right its out of sight, its like that on my computer too, not just the net browser. My page is now wider than it was, its not normal. I want it back to normal, but I dont know how! Its driving me crazy. Surely its something simple that I am overlooking. Someone, anyone... help!

were you playing with any buttons on your monitor? cause it sounds like you just need to 'squeeze' it in a bit. It should look like a square (maybe rounded) with arrows in it pointing <->
Try that

yeah... I'm not so sure that control panel will maybe change the SIZE of the windows and such.. just the LOOK of them (like larger font, etc..). I think they usually keep the sizes about the same..

Leave it to me to do something strange!

I never touched my monitor.

Oh well, Im gonna try some things and see what happens, surely I cant mess it up any more!

were you messing w/ the screen resolution??.. that would make it "look" like everything is much larger if you changed it to say like 640x480 or something..

Well, the funny thing is, I did check my screen resolution and its set at its lowest resolution. I thought that was strange, considering the color is set at its maximum. I toggled the screen resolution thingy, but I never applied it and I clicked off it, however, the screen slowly turned gray, thats what happens with this computer when you change a major setting or prepare to shut it off, and then the screen flashed off for a second and came back on. Thats when it was changed.

I still have not tried anything, yet.

I noticed also that the screen on the computer really is wider, not just the windows. My icons to the far left are slightly off the side of the screen.

I just hope my game screen for RCT2 is not effected. I dont have time to play that game right now anyway.

guessing you have XP for it to turn grey like that? did you click the "ok" button when you was on the resolution panel? cos if you click on "ok" or "apply" if youve changed a setting, they will both make sure the new setting happens. try putting the resolution to 800x600 (or larger if u have a big screen)

Sounds like a resolution issue to me, dude. Try applying the various resolution options and see if one of them doesn't bring it back to normal.

I tried the different resolution options, none of them worked.

I havent had time to set and figure it out, if I ever do.

Its just annoying. On my desktop for example, I can see the my computer icon just fine, but the m is cut off and all I can see is y computer. The screen is wider, but not by much, Im sure that whatever did that also makes the windows too wide as well.

I know something happened for it to do this and I know its something I did, but I cant figure out what. I was on the display options, but I dont want to mess with anything and make it worse.

It fixed itself! I just got back on the computer and noticed that the icons to the left were the way they are supposed to be. Then I opened some windows and they are not too wide or distorted. I didnt even do anything. This computer is good.
