View Full Version : Why is Janet Jackson such a hypocrite?

She released 2 albums which both spectacularly flopped. The only reason she was given a second chance by record industry execs was because of her last name and her more talented brother. She then goes on to have a semi-successful career (successful in the USA; moderately so overseas - a "local star," if anything) and then goes on to whinge about having "problems" because of her last name and only drops it when she's established. HYPOCRITE.

She criticises Madonna for being overtly sexual and never acknowledges her influence on Janet's work (which many times has been cut-and-paste from Madonna's more inspired work) and then goes on to have genital piercings and moan on records about having orgasms and asks Oprah on national TV to speak about her vagine instead of her brother. HYPOCRITE.

Ah, Suedehead from Dotmusic. What a "surprise" IT is posting on a Janet forum, when it's well known you can't stand her.

You're a big *yawn* and I'd advise you to get some kind of hobby because if traveling from Janet forum to Janet forum with this garbage is apart of your everyday life, I feel quite sorry for you.

Have a nice day, and don't lose sleep over Miss Jackson, because she sure ain't losin' sleep over you, sweetheart.

:)

Whilst some may find it "flattering" that you, er, obviously stalk me and know me from previous forums, I happen to find it a little creepy.

Oh, and where did I say that I don't like Janet? I happen to like a fair portion of her music, and I've got quite a few albums by her, so I have no idea where you got that from! I just happen to criticise some things about her - like any normally functioning music fan would - as opposed to a delusional fanatic, who'd just indulge in blind idol worship.

Now - can someone here tell me what they think about Ms. Jackson's HYPOCRISY?! Delusionals with freaky Christina Aguilera avatars don't count, I'm afraid!

I don't think that Janet is a hypocrite by dropping her last name for her album releases. She does love her family, but she has to have her own identity too as an artist. I don't think she likes how Madonna promotes her music so she doesn't do what she (Madonna) does. She just does her music a lot differently from the other female singers' competition.

Funny that she only chose to have her own identity after she was already an established star, thanks in big parts to having that family name and being associated with her more talented sibling Michael. I think it was utterly hypocritical of her to only come out and whine about her family's issues after she was already an established pop star - publicity stunt from an ungrateful spoilt pop child, if you ask me.

Really? How so? She posed nude in the bedsheets on the promo pictures and album artwork for All for You -! She's hardly PJ Harvey. And she's ripped off Madonna in many facets of her career - from video directors, to concerts, to album concepts and finally to her brazen sexuality, so I think it's utterly hypocrtical of Janet to put on her criticising face and not acknowledge the enormous influence Madonna has had on her career!

Why don't you use common sense, kid?

If I post on various JANET forums and "Suedehead" pops up ever so often posting garbage on those forums, of course I'd know who you are.

First off, after she had dropped her last name for the janet. album, she did a duet with Michael in the song Scream. If what you are saying is true, she would have tried to distance her career from her brother's as much as possible. In addition, she would not have been at his arraignment yesterday.

Second, there is no way one could deny the influence Madonna has had in pop music. From Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, to, of course, Janet Jackson. However, just because Madonna influences someone, it doesn't mean they are flat out copying her. Lying naked in bed sheets has been done by countless others - Faith Hill, Usher, Christina Aguilera- Just to name a few. Is everyone copying Madonna? With that said, anyone could understand that it is fine for Janet to speak out about certain things Madonna does to gain attention for herself. Even though Janet does not agree with everything "Madge" does, does not make her a HYPOCRITE.

SINCE MTV HAS BEEN AROUND FOR 20 YRS. IT WILL NOW SEEM EVERYBODY "COPIES" EVERYBODY. YOU PROBABLY COULD FIND SOME IMAGE IN A POP VIDEO NOW IN A RAP OR EVEN COUNTRY MUSIC VIDEO! SO I USUALLY DON'T PAY TOO MUCH ATTENTION TO THAT ASPECT OF VIDEOS-I'LL JUST LOOK AT THE MUSIC. AS FOR MADONNA-SHE HAS TAKEN MANY IMAGES OF ACTRESSES & USED THEIR LOOK AS HER OWN. SOME WERE FLAT OUT OBVIOUS LIKE MARILYN MONROE-BUT OTHER TIMES IT WAS A COMPLETE RIP OFF. LIKE HER POINTY BRA FAZE DURING BLONDE AMBITION-THAT LOOK WAS FROM BETTIE PAGE. MADONNA HAS MADE SOME GOOD CATCHY TUNES BUT SHE IS HIGHLY OVERRATED-I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH SHE SOLD. ALSO, HER PUBLIC PERSONALITY ISN'T MUCH TO LOOK UP TO-SHE LEECHES ONTO "POPULAR PEOPLE" THEN DISGUARDS THEM AS IF THEY WERE NON-HUMAN. SHE IS DESPICABLE -AT TIMES.

Someone, posted that Janet copies Madonna and is a hypocrite. I was just pointing out that Madonna has also copied and is at times very hypocritical. Of course, since I don't know them personally I just going by what I see them doing or saying in public.
