Runaway Britney In Hospital Drama
TROUBLED pop princess Britney Spears is at the centre of a health riddle after coming out of hiding to visit a California hospital.
Britney was photographed for the first time since her sham 55-hour marriage to Jason Alexander when she turned up at the Centinela hospital in Los Angeles on Thursday morning.
She arrived at 9am for a mystery hour-long appointment along with her grim-faced mother Lynne.
And the next day Britney was booked in at the Parkside Medical Center in Santa Monica at 8.30am—when once again she was accompanied by Lynne.
A Parkside source said: "Britney's appearance here was the talk of the centre. She looked very downcast and subdued."
After the appointment she visited an optician in nearby Beverly Hills and managed a little retail therapy browsing designer sunglasses.
The shamefaced star has been keeping a low profile since the annulment of her 5am marriage to Jason—a friend from her home town of Kentwood, Louisiana—at The Little White Chapel in Las Vegas on January 3.
But the News of the World this week tracked down the 22-year-old star to a rented £8,000-a-month beachside villa, in Redondo Beach, south of Los Angeles.
She has been staying there since Tuesday with worried Lynne, who is said by friends to be "reading Britney the riot act".
