Okay,
so I was in a Backstreet Fan chat room on aol, and then suddenly this girl comes in and I'm singing Hold On right? just cuz I was bored it was only like 3 people in there, then we start to chat n stuff get along fine, then when she asked me if I was a fan of GC since the begining.. I said No, I became a fan prob when 2nd album came out, (I wasn't sure EXTACT but that's close)lol, but yeah, then she goes that I had no right to be front row to my first GC concert esp cuz "I'm not a true fan" Only fans from the begining should be there? I'm like "WTF" so yeah, then she goes and disses me again because I happen to like the BSB, and many other bands she doesn't like or even heard of, (I listed like half of my favorites)

I seriously don't get people like this at all, Then when she saw my website she dissed me bout that, cuz I met 4 out of 5 in one year, she said once agian "True fans should only meet them" I'm like well I guess I'm a true fan cuz w/ my luck n all, I got to meet 4 out of 5, lmao!

Pfft. How long someone has been a fan does not determine how big of a fan they are. I didn't become a fan of until December 2002, which was after TYATH was released, but I can tell you that I am one of the biggest GC fans.

I can tell you right now, that there are people who have been a "fan" of GC before TYATH, but they aren't even that big of fans. So how long you have been a fan does NOT matter. I am a huge supporter of GC. I go and buy their albums, I go to their shows, I go to shows and meet them.

Well, I've heard bout GC, Before I became a fan, but I wasn't into them cuz I was in to "BSB, my crazy stage" If you wanna call it that but then I got so sick of a lot of bsb fans that I decided to go out and hear tons of other music n bands, That's when I discovered Good Charlotte, NFG, Mest, Brand New, SC, Etc... And truth is a lot of these band I listen to my brother and his gf listens to, but yeah..... All I can say is, I'm a fan and damn proud of it, I support them a lot.. I go buy albums, Go to shows when I can afford it (Yeah one show so far) *sniffle* lmao just playing, but yeah I will def be going to more that's for sure!

So basically by that logic, the only fans the band is allowed to have are the ones that were there from the VERY beginning .. which would mean a VERY SMALL fan base, which yes, would be a lot of fun for the fans and all the intimate shows they would get to see, but the band also wouldn't be anywhre near where they are if they didn't have a few more fans join them along the way .. Some people have a VERY INTERESTING way of seeing the world .. and yet it makes perfect sense to them ..

well me being a fan from the beginning.. it doesn't matter to me... becuz i think its cool when people become fans from listenin to them off the radio... and i am bein honest! i love it when people become fans of any band im into! i love sharin info on bands i like and knowin or hopin people would be interested in them... the "fans" i can't stand are the ones who are into the band for the looks... and they became a fan becuz of how joel looks! those fans i'll go after... but if people listen to them off the radio and become fans that way... rock on!!

Not all fans just turn on the radio and BOOM they are fans -- I personally liked the sound of their music and then went LOOKING for more about them, more music - and listened to the lyrics .. which is what made me fall for them -- I know a ton of people who HATE them because of what they heard on the radio -- taht doesn't make a fan .. you have to go searching for more to become a fan .. you can like a song on the radio but that isn't what makes you a fan of someone ... it is when you start to uncover all the other things about them that make them great ...

AND please don't come on here and preach to us about needing to be honest with ourselves .. I don't see anyone on here hiding behind GC -- there are a lot of VERY HONEST people on this board who don't hold much back .. if you don't mean to be rude, you should have learned from Simon Cowell that prefacing anythingwith "i don't mean to be rude" generally means you are about to follow it by rude statement... **RUNS FROM THE TRUE FAN YARDSTICK*** (can someone try to sweet talk this thing for me)...

I heard them on the radio and was interested in what I heard, a few weeks later I went out and bought TYATH, and then my sister burned the self titled CD for me, and then a few months later I went and bought for self titled CD and saw them for the first time in concert and met them, too. So don't give me this bull**** about older fans are truer fans. I support that band JUST AS MUCH as an older fan would, if not more.

there are ways of typing what comes to mind and not being a b**** about it - and that way you can preserve your NONFakeness that you are about .. which is a great thing, and just because we don't spend our days on here critizing everything the band does that we DON'T necessarily agree with doesn't mean we are FAKE - it means that we are people who are fans who can look past little things and focus on the good things and the happy things -- because really, that makes the world a happier place. I find that people who spend so much time focusing and trying to find things to critize in others need to take a good hard look in the mirror and dig deep down inside of them to find out why they, themselves are so bitter ... Not critizing is not being fake ... it is overlooking the little things of those we love ..

as for the age thing .. who care? Is her age really important? How old are you? You either need to grow up or go out and have some fun .... act a little less your age ...

I find that people who spend so much time focusing and trying to find things to critize in others need to take a good hard look in the mirror and dig deep down inside of them to find out why they, themselves are so bitter ... Not critizing is not being fake ... it is overlooking the little things of those we love ..

as for the age thing .. who care? Is her age really important? How old are you? You either need to grow up or go out and have some fun .... act a little less your age ...

I understand what your saying... but thats just not the type of person I am... I focus on the good but you do need to see the bad to reconize the good. UMm I know why I am the way am I.. I don't really need to do any searching.. but thanks. I didn't mean not crizising is being fake.. I ment that if you don't agree with something or someone to tell them and not hold back, just be honest..

I was a fan from the beginning also and it doesn't bother me when new fans come along on the 2nd album... how I look at it is, fans are fans no matter when you become one! If you like the music, you buy the albums, go to their concerts etc... You are considered a fan! I also happen to like it when people get interested in a band or artist or pop group Im into!
