New singleton BEN AFFLECK is rekindling his close friendship with BRITNEY SPEARS, following his split from fiancee JENNIFER LOPEZ last Tuesday (19JAN04). The PAYCHECK actor, 31, and 22-year-old Britney - who is also single following her annulled marriage earlier this month (JAN04) - have become close following an alleged fling a couple of years ago, and the pop princess was invited to Ben and Jen's cancelled wedding in September (03). An insider tells British newspaper THE DAILY STAR, "Ben and Britney were rumoured to have had a fling while she was still dating Justin Timberlake, but before he hooked up with Jennifer. "Neither will confirm the fling, but they've been friends for some time and Ben even invited Britney to his wedding that never happened. "They spend hours on the phone. They start off talking about their problems, and then wind up laughing, joking and flirting. "Ben has a crush on Britney. Those of us who know him predict that they'll wind up a serious item, and soon."

if ben broke up with jennefer just 3/4 days ago...i really doubt he wants a new girrlfriend now...and than...i saw pics og jennefer and ben together,and rumors abouit the split was still going around...so i dunno....
but this story is definitely fake!
