The thought of watching the movie does make me nervous. Not because of anything other than watching so much violence for two hours.
The reaction of people that have already viewed this movie was interesting to me. I will be one of those in tears too, I'm sure. I am very into historically based movies and it looks like it will be very closely tied to the words of the Gospel. Not just his interpretation.

It's only half over Chad, you can still check it out!
I agree, he is very knowledgable about this and it's nice to hear him answer for some of the negative comments that have been said about the movie.

I want to go see the movie by myself because I have a feeling I will be crying and I dont want anyone to see me crying.

I think that I'll be one of the ones in tears, possibly sobbing because I tend to be very emotional during movies and just the thought of what this is really about breaks my heart.

I just love that he is being so honest about his life and how the words of God helped him get through some of the rough spots. I can totally relate in that aspect. I am so thankful every day for the blessings that God has bestowed upon me.
And watching this movie will really put into perspective what a sacrifice it was..........

I like that he doesn't dish about his father, he can say that he doesn't always agree with him but he still loves him and that's that. Good for him for not giving in on that.

I would love to see him do something with the three days between Jesus's death and the resurrection.

I liked his comment when asked who was responsible for Jesus' death.
We all are.
That was deep.

I think it's an amazing testimony that he is the one holding the nail, not someone else, showing that we all are the ones that killed Christ.
It would really be interesting to know what that ABC crew learned about each other during that segment.

I too would like to see something on the three days prior to and including the resurrection.
BTW, the TV movie, "Judas" looks interesting. Monday, March 8th. I'll be watching.

Yeah, when he said he was the one holding the nail, I got chills. Just brought it home for me.
I have a totally new respect for Mel.

I will be watching that one too, I hadn't heard anything about it until those comercials or the Primetime that they are doing on St. Paul. It will be interesting to see what other shows come as a result of this.

I was trying to watch with one eye and drive with the other (The Hater's tiny tv in the car). Jeez, I so identify with most of what he said about the state of his spirituality. Man, he resonated so with me and my state of belief. Faith first and everything else lines up behind that. I admire him for going where his faith leads him. A lot of people do not have the courage of their convictions.
I'm not Catholic but his state of being.........been there, felt that.

I think this will be a movie that I will only be able to watch once.
I will more than likely buy it so that I have it in my collection of movies that if God willing, I ever have children, I can share with them.
I was just talking with my roommate about when we thought would be a good age to first see something this historically graphic. I think if I were in high school now, I could watch it, but I'm not certain I would fully get it. Does that make sense? I guess just with my life experiences since I've been in my twenties, it means more to me than it would have then. I was raised with a belief in God and that Jesus came to wash away the sins of the world. But it has definately taken me this long to get more in tune with my spirituality and what it all means to me and what impact it has on my life and how I live it.

I think he gave good answers to all the negative comments made about this movie. Way to go Mel!
Cany wait to see it.

I think a lot depends on where you're at in your relationship with Christ. I was in pretty deep by the time I started high school so I think I would have been very interested in seeing the movie then.

Holy crap, Geeze, are you in a hurry to meet Jesus in person or what? Turn off the TV and keep your eyes on the road!

I'm very eager to see this movie; not just because I'm Christian, but from a historical view as well.
I missed his interview last night and am dissapointed.

I loved the interview.... but I was disturbed by a comment my roommate made(she's Jewish).
I was watching the show in the living room... and she must've been watching it in her bedroom, because she came out, got a glass of water, and on her way back into her room said (knowing FULL well of my beliefs and how I would obviously support this movie) "Mel Gibson is a self-righteous BASTARD!". Then shut her bedroom door.
Was that comment neccessary? Absolutely not. I have always respected the fact that she is Jewish, even though her beliefs differ from mine. I've always been cautious in the things I say, because I know it would be a sensitive issue. But she comes out and says that to me? Christians don't see anything wrong with this movie, because we see it for what it is: a story of love. No matter what belief you have, that is exactly what it is, a story of love. A man giving his life for you and I.
But no, people have to dwell on the bad. I love the comment that Mel made about the Germans. We do not hate the Germans of today for what their ancestors did to millions of Jews in the past. Why would we hate Jews for something their ancestors did over 2,000 years ago?
That comment was not only an insult to Mel and his movie, but a round-about insult to me and my beliefs.
The only anti-semitism I'm seeing so far is coming from the Jewish side.

I'm interested in what part of the interview gave her that opinion...

OK, I just had a Jessica Simpson moment there. I just kinda read that and thought you meant the city of St. Paul in Minnesota. Oy...
Anyways, that was a great interview. I have even more respect for him now. My question is if he can make a movie of the death of Jesus, why not make one of his last 40 days with his disciples and the ascension into heaven? Just a thought...

I couldn't even say anything to her after that... I didn't want my emotions to get the better of me (which at that moment, they would have).
It just floored me that she would say that. What did she gain by saying that to me? It doesn't shock me that she thinks that way... but the fact that she felt she needed to say it to her Christian friend just goes beyond my reasoning.
I thought of things to say to her, but that would make me just as bad. Her religion is sacred to her, just as my religion is sacred to myself. If she wishes to use that against me, that's her choice. But I will not do the same.

Sorry, it's the story. I have never thought any differently about Jewish people because of it, I'm not sure why I would now..
