hmmmmmmmm, that's a difficult question......
i guess it was one of nicolas lapentti's matches, but i can't remember when it was, maybe 2 years ago.......
when guga kuerten played at the french open.... was it 1997??sorry, i'm too bad in remembering dates.....

I think it was Guga who won the french:) I think the best match I have seen Andy play was at the 2003 Austrailian open when he played ElAnoui(sp) and he won 21-19 in the fifth set. Did you see that?
As for my favourite match I would say the final of the french open in 2001 when Jenifer Capriati played against Kim Clijsters and Jenifer won 12-10 in the third set.

The best match I've seen is the Roddick El Aynaoui match from last year's Australian Open. Simply amazing.

Did you all watch Andy's match against El Aynaoui live?
muffins
Feb 4th, 2004, 03:52 PM
Yes, I saw it all live. I was studying for my A Levels at the time but I had the day off and got up especially to see it at 8.30am. I'm so glad I had the day off and that it was on in the morning in Britain. My dad wanted me to call him to tell him the result so I rang him about 2.15pm and he wanted to know why I hadn't called and I was like "It's only just finished." I think he nearly died of shock lol! I have the match on tape now too. :)

omg the best match i saw recently was Jennifer Caprati vs. Justine Henin Hardenne. It was such a huge fight. Both of them really wanted it and both were taking incredible risks. I can't believe how many of the shots got in. I was like "how did they do it?"

Another good match was the 2001 Wimbledon final between Ivanisevic and Rafter. I was supporting Pat but was glad for Goran. That was a great final.

omg if you were referring to the us open one, they were AMAZING. I didn't think Justine was going to win but well, she surprised me again... just like the match she had with Serena at the Belgium Open a few years ago. PRICELESS.

The wimbledon final 2001 was great and I am glad Goran won. He was so sad after he lost the final in 1998 and I dont think anyone thought he would ever win. It kinda seemed like it was fate dont ya think:D?

I wasen't at the Pat Goran match no, wish I was though:( Some matches I was at are Hantuchova v Williams, Capriati v S Williams
Clijsters v Sugiama, Sampras v Federer, Hewitt v Shalken lots of doubles matches I cant remember them all right now but those were all great matches.
As for the dates of wimbledon I think it's 23 June- 4 July:D are you planning on going?
muffins
Feb 13th, 2004, 03:55 PM
I think Wimbledon starts June 21st and ends July 4th. I went to Wimbleon last year and saw the ladies final and the men's doubles final, I had a great time. I'd been on Court 1 at Wimbledon before but that was for Davis Cup, not Wimbledon.

capriati vs serena williams sounds nice!!
haven't been to any matches.......:-((
well during the week i won't be able to go to any matches
:( and i'm not quite sure if it's worth it just going at the weekend!
i guess the prices are high, aren't they??
KimC
Feb 15th, 2004, 01:26 AM
well if you were to get tickets for a show court they would be expensive and on the middle weekend the queue is ridiculously(sp) long, for a show court ticket you'd be looking at queuing for one maby two nights. But grounds pass tickets are not that expensive about £14 and that gives you access to courts 3-18 and also standing room on court two.

thanx for telling me!
these ground pass tix seem to be really good! 14 pounds are not too much!
listen, i just send you a pm!

Me and my dad are part of an LTA membership thing so we get the magazine Ace every month, get told of tournaments in the UK and get put into a ballot for Wimbledon tickets so we didn't queue to get our tickets. I can't remember how expenisve they were but it was pretty expensive, it was the ladies' final.
glamour-gal
Feb 15th, 2004, 12:23 PM
that sounds really good!
of course the finals or even the semi finals are kinda expensive!
are you going this year as well??
muffins
Feb 17th, 2004, 04:00 PM
I don't know yet. I'd love to but I think we used up all our luck last year as it was only our second year of trying it and we got ladies final tickets hehe! The draw for tickets is made on March 1st.

I remember a few encounters between those two, Venus winning mainly.
I won't be going to Wimbledon this yeear, we weren't picked from the ballot. Oh well, I think we used up most of our good fortune last year lol!
KimC
Mar 7th, 2004, 03:53 AM
I didn't get anything in the ballot this year. I've never got tickets and I'm a member of the lta. Oh well I'll still be going and queuing for a long time like every year but it's fun so I'm not to fed up.

I wish I could do that but I need someone(like a member of my family or a close friend) to camp with lol. Not much of my family likes tennis(only my parents and nan who's 90!)and nor do many of my friends. Both my parents work too so it'd take a lot of forward planning.
