Capitol has set a Feb. 24 release date for a bonanza of George Harrison reissues originally issued on his Dark Horse imprint. The albums "Thirty Three & 1/3," "George Harrison," "Somewhere in England," "Gone Troppo," "Cloud Nine" and "Live in Japan" have been out-of-print for years. Each has been digitally remastered and bolstered with bonus tracks, new liner notes and rare photographs. A deluxe boxed set, "The Dark Horse Years, 1976-1992," with an exclusive DVD, will also be available.

The 1992 Billboard Century Award winner had been planning to reissue these albums, as well as his 1973 set "Living in the Material World" and the 1971 live album "The Concert for Bangla Desh" for some time before his death in December 2001. Earlier that year, Capitol released an expanded reissue of his 1970 solo debut "All Things Must Pass."

Me too. I'm especially looking forward to owning the Live In Japan album. There's an amazing version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" on there that I've been wanting to get my paws on for years now, unfortunately the album has been out of print for some time.

Welcome back, Shawn! How are you doing? Last I remember, you were still in rehab.

Hey db44! Not rehab as in drug rehab. Recovering from getting ran over by a van and driven through a building! (Just wanted to clarify that for everyone else)

Nah, I haven't gone anywhere, still been lurking around the boards, but not posting very often. Last time we chatted was when I saw Brian Wilson at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, December 2002. That was about a year after my accident, so it's been awhile. Good to see we still have a small community going here at the Beatles board. Can't wait for the new George stuff. Although I can't make up my mind whether to get the box set or buy the individual CD's. Wonder if there's any difference in content.

Dave- whatever happened to Lucyinsky? She still around?

Is you new avatar a picture of a new dog and the one from before?

The box set has a DVD that won't be sold separately and a 24 page booklet. I'm a sucker for special packaging..

Me too! Hope it's better than the bonus DVD for All Things Must Pass, which had been shown on TV anyway. Not that it wasn't interesting, just not that special.

That said I'm very excited about these remasters, I've been anticipating them. Wonder when Living In The Material World will be out though.

I haven't seen Lucy around here in a while, but I think she still keeps somewhat active in the Bruce forum.

We've had a Brian convo going on in one of these threads here, I think one that Bekah started. I'm hoping after he does Smile in Europe, he brings the tour State-side.

The dog whose face you can make out is my pup, the other one towering over her is my parents' dog, the one from the "drunk puppy" picture as I call it.

If the boxed set is the only way to get the DVD, that might do it for me.

You got a DVD with your ATMP? I know they put one out with the Brainwashed (Special Edition) CD, but I didn't know they did that with ATMP.

I don't know if they ever pulled "LITMW" from the shelves, it's still easy to find in stores where I live, try Amazon.

Ooops! I of course meant Brainwashed. And about LITMW I was hoping it would be remastered too.

That's what I thought you meant, but I had to be sure. I didn't know whether or not they released a DVD with ATMP over on your side of the pond. If that was the case, I would have to buy it.

It is strange that they didn't remaster LITMW, the estate will probably re-release it at some point though.

Here's some more info (http://abbeyrd.best.vwh.net/news/georgereissues.html) about the box set.
