So excited!!!
They'res a ton of pics from their first show since Labor Day weekend.
Woohoo it was House of Blues this past weekend and they played with NOFX for the Rock Against Bush tour (which makes me so happy).
Anyyyyyways I'm sure we all know the album comes out May 18 and the first single is called "All downhill from Here". The videos been shot but I'm not sure when it's going to be premiered. Sometime in late April I'm thinking.
So yeah... go to www.newfoundglory.com and check that **** out!

Excited here too!
This guy at work today had a NFG shirt on, a really old one you can't get anymore, and I begged him to give it to me, but he wasn't going for it! It even had that vintage look to it, so I was in love...I'll have to keep bothering him! :D

This guy who used to go here used to wear a NFG shirt everytime I wore mine. Coincidence.. I think not. He was hot.
My shirt was better anways.
I only have one NFG shirt but it's the All Star Klein shirt... yeah it's awesome. I think I may wear it tomorrow.

yeah i did hear that. ahah they were also prepared for it.
I hate when people do that it really sucks. I wanna be like "just in case you didn't know those bands are actually friends!! Yes! Two different bands can be friends believe it or not." Lord that frustrates me to no end.
Fat Mike came out though and was like "F**K you to all those who booed. If you didn't wanna see them you shouldn't have come"... great. Wish I was there.

Chad Gilbert, guitarist for pop-punk band New Found Glory, is convinced his group can't lose with its new single "All Downhill From Here," which goes to radio April 6. If the track tanks with the public, the prophecy will be fulfilled, and even if it's the biggest single in the band's career, Gilbert claims the prediction of the title will still come true.
"It's a great irony for me because when you blow up gigantic and enormous, there's only one way to go, and that's down," he said, laughing.
Bred on punk long before it became trendy, the members of New Found Glory ascribe to an old-school ethos. Sure, they're happy being all over the radio, but that's not the primary goal. Even after the public has moved onto the next young, fresh-faced, tattooed rockers in the punk-rock assembly line, New Found Glory will be content writing songs for themselves and playing for their devoted fans.
"We've always existed regardless of how popular our band is," Gilbert said. "We've been around for a while, and we can tour regardless of whether there's a single on the radio or not. And that's really special. We can hit a certain peak and you might not hear about us for the next few years, but man, we'll still be on tour and still be playing in front of our fans."
"All Downhill From Here," which is the first offering from the group's upcoming album, Catalyst (May 18), is propulsively poppy, starting with a charged riff that fades to a muted chug as the vocals kick in. For the second half of the verse, the band launches into a slamming punk rhythm, then segues into the harmony-laden chorus. The volume drops even more for the jangly, reflective bridge, but the song ends with the power and bouncy energy with which it began.
The track encapsulates the dynamics and diversity of Catalyst, although Gilbert wasn't trying to encapsulate anything when he came up with the tune. He was just trying to steer his truck.
"I was driving to practice, and I started singing the riff in my head out of nowhere," he said. "We were in pre-production writing new songs at the time, and when I got to practice, I said, 'Guys, I thought of this riff. Check it out.' And I wrote the whole song right there that day."
While "All Downhill From Here" was penned to describe a doomed romantic relationship, Gilbert said the song can have many different meanings to different people. "It's about when any kind of relationship with someone goes sour and things go south from there."
New Found Glory shot a video for the track on March 15 in Los Angeles with director Meiert Avis, who has previously worked with U2, Bruce Springsteen and Audioslave, among others. For the clip, the director hired a group of animators from France called No Brains to provide a surreal element to the band's performance.
"No Brains combine clay, models and computer graphics to create this amazing stuff," Gilbert said. "The whole performance was us in front of a green screen, but after they add all the animation it will feature all these little monster creatures that walk up like an army and build this whole crazy world around us. As we're playing, we continue to get knocked up higher into the sky because they're building this bizarre world that we're exploding through."
New Found Glory were stoked after they read Avis' video treatment because they've gotten tired of videos that attempt to capture heartbreak, and they wanted a video plot that had nothing to do with their lyrics.
"So many bands have the same performance-based videos, and it's so lame," Gilbert said. "I know bands whose labels rent a crowd, so they have these fake audiences that jump up and down trying to make it look like a pit or something. We wanted to do something different than that, so we really stepped out of the box for this video."

New Found Glory Have Found New Approach To Making Videos
04.16.2004 10:22 PM EDT
Some might call New Found Glory's Steve Klein a nitpicker. Others may view the way he adds consequence to a person's seemingly minor quirks as insightful.
"If there's something about someone that bothers you, and you keep on noticing it every time you hang out with that person, it's like a snowball effect," Klein explained. "Every time, it keeps getting worse and you keep on noticing that one thing and you can't deal with it. You have to just stop it before it gets too far along."
Such was the inspiration behind "All Downhill From Here," the first single off New Found Glory's fourth album, Catalyst, due May 18. That muse, however, isn't immediately obvious from the video, which finds the band performing atop a pedestal that keeps rising higher and higher thanks to the diligent work of animated, gremlinlike creatures. It seems to suggest the adage "What goes up ..." applies to New Found Glory's seven-year upward trajectory.
The idea for a video that isn't quite in line with the song was something the band had in mind when sorting through prospective directors. They eventually settled on Meiert Avis (Michelle Branch, Audioslave), who incorporated the French animation team No Brains (see "New Found Glory Meet Army Of Monsters In 'All Downhill From Here' "), after most of the prospective treatments thrust on them left much to be desired.
"We met with all these directors and they all had the same thing in mind," said guitarist Chad Gilbert. " 'We'll have a car going really fast, and an explosion, and ...' "
"... a girl chasing [singer] Jordan [Pundik]," interrupted Klein.
"It's just so typical, and that's not us," Gilbert continued. "Lately, videos in our genre are all the same. They have what we call rent-a-crowds."
Pundik, having thought for a moment of videos such as "Hit or Miss," off 2000's self-titled LP, or "Understatement," from 2002's Sticks & Stones, both of which couldn't exactly be described as "groundbreaking," said, "You can't make fun of that because we had all that stuff."
"Exactly," Gilbert agreed. "We're just at a point now in our career where we've done a lot of these things, and it's time for us to experiment and do new things."
The same might be said of Catalyst. The album retains the pop-punk bounce and heavy-hearted lyrics NFG fans have come to expect, while introducing elements such as hardcore (the 30-second "Intro"), strings ("I Don't Want to Know") and keyboards ("Failure's Not Flattering"). Hopefully, according to drummer Cyrus Bolooki, these slight curveballs may give credence to the album's title.
"I was on one of our fan sites a couple of weeks ago and somebody had found a definition of [catalyst]. A catalyst is something that can spark change or help bring about change without actually being changed by the reaction itself.
"So if this can usher in a new era or kind of change what's going on in music," Bolooki continued, "that's cool, because we never did anything different ourselves. We've always been ourselves, and we're going to stay that way."

Around 2PM this afternoon I saw the video for "All Downhill from Here" on MTV. Yes, they were actually playing videos. I was watching to see the beginning of the new Britney video(loser, I know.. lol) and I got a nice surprise when ADFH came on. I saw it the other day online but it wasn't as good as seeing it on TV.
One month and 10 days until I see them!! I'm so psyched.... (unless I can swing hitting up CT a few days beforehand.)

So AP gave the CD a 3 - Buy it Used.
The article was a Chad praising article though. They pretty much said Chad is the backbone of the band and without him the band would be nothing. They praised his songwriting skills till no end.
And even though I didn't want to hear some of the other songs.
I got to hear a few more.

my entire body hurts today. I haven't done the search for bruises yet..
we didn't see all of New Found Glory because one of our friends passed out twice. we missed the last 20 mins.
the crowd was full of *******s. i've never seen so many fights. when we were bringing our friend out some punk ass bitch thought he was cool and was like "come on what the ****" I was like what the ****, **** you ******* she ****ing passed out. he kept going on, kris smacked him lmfao, and I was yelling at him. don't **** with me...
we had a group of like 10 guys that thought it was real funny to push and knock people down. usually I'm glad to see guys around me, but these guys didn't give a ****, they weren't looking out for anyone. one of them did grab my arm and help me up off the floor when I went down though. I got out of the pit before NFG came on, we had a good spot too. I was soaked, and after I fell I was good for a minute then I started to hyperventalate. There were two girls I had seen before and talked to that I was like I need to get out and they were going to get the security dude but I was like no, I'm gonna fight my way through. I ended up running into Krissy and her friends on the side and stood with them.
the one good thing about being outside and missing the rest of nfg, there was a band out there called senior discount, and one of the dudes in the band was real cute haha. they gave us cd's and they're good. I want to see them with monty's in june at lupos.
i woke up this morning, and i thought it was a dream... bumed me out. I'm a tad bummed it just sucks, I was looking forward to it for so long but what are you gonna do. She said to go back in, but how can you enjoy the show when someone is outside not feeling good? I'd be worse if we weren't seeing them again on Sunday. I just hope they get to play like a full set and end up being a headliner, none of this half hour ****. GC last year seemed like they played their entire show we saw on the civic tour.
can't say I'd ever go back to Webster for another show...
Krissy! It was so good seeing you again! Next time I hope it has a better outcome though.

May 27th, 2004, 12:59 PM
Yeah man it was awesome seeing you!! Next time it will be better lol.
Yeah you guys braved the pit like mad. Kris is sooo funny I could so see her kicking ass lol. We held our own for a bit of Give Up the Ghost (who's lead singer has one hand) lol but seriously the guys in the pit SUCKED! most of the people in the pit sucked.
So we got the hell out.
That ****ing guy who took my camera. He's number 1 on my hate list. Come on dude it's a disposable. He didn't do **** either besides watch for flashes. Nice job description loser.
I wish you could have stayed!
We stayed there for the rest of the set.
They played Doubt Full and I was like aww I wish Andrea was still here.
Jordan hit some kid in the head with his mic and everyone was laughing really hard.
This random kid got on stage during the story so far I think and the security like made a mad dash and chad got in the middle and pushed the security gaurd away and was like no man it's cool. It was awesome.
Then the fight with the girl and the guy. Woo that was exciting.
One of my friends almost got pulled in lol.
So excited I got to see them then though cause I don't see them playing a venue that size in a longggggg time.
you should come to lupos june 25 :) woo montys and senior discount! That's the greatest name for a band.

MTV's VJ's are the hugest freakin idiots.
Quduss (or however you go by saying that) : "So Jordan when your penning the lyrics..."
it's called doing your research. Not very difficult.
But since MTV only caters to Britney spears and her clones they wouldn't know anything about NFG.
I honestly laughed and changed the channel. I know people say look good for them they're on TRL but I could give two s. It's sad such a good band like that has to be ruined by TRL. example :Good Charlotte.
And another thing the audience that was watching - I pity those sluts that were dancing around in little bikinis freaking out over Jordan or is his name Justin. Who cares anyways like totally?!
lol they were quite good though :)
It sucks MTV had to cut off Hit or Miss 10 seconds into the song though but the again I wasn't surprised. They were probably like "this was never a single - commercial".

Dude I feel ya about the girls... Two stick out in my mind who's bottoms looked like there was MAJOR crackage showing... HOW do you wear something THAT low and not feel exposed? There were sooo many of them running around at River Rave too.. If I saw one more thong sticking out of the back of jeans I was going to vomit.. not to mention the whoreish Rave Girls holding up the band cards. New Found Glory Promise 'Freakin' Crazy' Video For 'Failure's Not Flattering'
IRVINE, California — New Found Glory think they know the key to a hit summer single. Actually, keys would be the better word.
"The next single's gonna be a song called 'Failure's Not Flattering'; it's the one song on our record that has a really cool keyboard part that James [DeWees] from Reggie and the Full Effect/Get Up Kids played," guitarist Steve Klein said. "It's kinda different and it's summery, you know, summer fresh fun."
DeWees' keyboards certainly bring a new element to New Found Glory's pop-punk, but "Failure's Not Flattering" isn't exactly Sugar Ray or Smash Mouth, either. It still packs an aggressive punch, in large part because of the lyrics. "What's your problem?" singer Jordan Pundik asks in the chorus. "Can't you see it/ And you go and blow it/ Like everyone knows you will."
"It's about making mistakes," the band's other guitarist, Chad Gilbert, explained. "Someone that's about to mess something up and you're trying to wake up the person. People live and are stuck in a certain way and it's kind of like a wake-up call for a person to change. And if they don't, it's all gonna be messed up."
New Found Glory are shooting the video this week with Meiert Avis, who directed their memorable "All Downhill From Here" clip (see "New Found Glory Have Found New Approach To Making Videos").
"Let's just say there's a lot of bands that have party videos and this is gonna take what most bands have and make it like freakin' crazy," Gilbert said. "And with so many different styles of cinematography. If we pull it off, it's gonna destroy our last video."
"We don't wanna give it away 'cause we want it to be a cool surprise thing," Klein added. "But expect some crazy effects."
It seems there's a few surprises in store for New Found Glory fans. The band, whose Catalyst debuted at #3 last month (see "New Found Glory Keep It Real In The Face Of Success"), has already lined up a post-Warped Tour outing, and the group promises it'll be something special.
"We're not allowed to say yet, but if people are huge fans of New Found Glory, they'll be able to figure it out [when I say] it's the band that we collectively all love and have always loved and it's probably the biggest inspiration for us, why we're playing music with melody and this kind of energy," Gilbert said. "They asked us to open for them, so we're going to be supporting a certain band."
