A friend of mine here is a huge Arsenal fan, and she's introduced me to a a bunch of bars which show football live here. Most of the games, not surprisingly, have been Arsenal games.
It's a fun time as many of the people are transplants, so it's like being in the U.K.
And wha't wrong with getting sloshed at 7 in the morning? :blueeek:

1-1 final score, very good game. 30 games unbeaten a new record!
Before todays game Richard Keys (Presenter) said that the game would be watched by 1 billion viewers world wide. I was

Funny you say that. I was asking people for the last few days if they thought this game would have more spectators around the world than the Super Bowl.

I went to the match. I've not long arrived back in Cardiff. It was a good match and a cracking atmosphere. I went with my dad, his brother and his work mate who is a Manchester United fan(he had trouble containing himself when Manchester United equalised hehe). Everyone said that 1-1 was a fair result and I think so too.

Arsenal are now unbeaten this season as has already been said but there's also 2 games from the end of last season to include so they have gone 32 Premiership games without defeat.

I didn't expect those kind of numbers either, especially without a big audience from the US (I assume). The FA Cup semi-final on Saturday is a even bigger game! I can't wait to see it!

I did expect those numbers. As I said earlier, I wondered if this was going to top the Super Bowl worldwide. The Super Bowl had about 800 million viewers this year, so a billion for Man U./Arsenal sounds easily possible to me.
As for the U.S. audience, I was in a bar that I would bet holds over 300. It was packed an hour before the kick. It is one of about four in the neighborhood of the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and I know that the others had crowds as well. There are other bars all over the city that show footie games, but as far as I know, this is the highest concentration in the city. Setanta on satellite has a listing of such bars all over the U.S. and for a game like this, I'm sure all were open and many had good crowds.
The game was also available on PPV here. I would not be surprised at all if there were a few million people watching in the states. Ex-Pats and just plain old U.S.-born fans.

Thats great to hear the game is getting more recognised in the US. I don't know if that game had more viewers than the Super Bowl. They did estimate that they would also have around 1 billion viewers for the Super Bowl so I'd imagine it to be close.

Anybody care to estimate how many people will tune into the FA Cup clash between the two sides?

I think the semi-final should draw a bigger audience.

I think it will be bigger tomorrow.
Tim Howard's mom and I believe his sister (maybe wife? We've never asked) go to the bar I go to to watch the games... At least they were there the last two times I was there. Anyway, the sister told me last week that they were resting him fo this game. So the Red Devils at least seem to think this one is more important. I can't tell what Arsenal thinks, 'cause Wegner and his comments earlier in the week.

There are now reports that Ruud is "very doubtful" for tomorrow?

Arsenal have a crucial couple of games coming up so they may rest the likes of Henry. I'd hope Arsenal would win but they can't seem to beat each other in 90 minutes so it may got to extra time.

Only the Premiership left now. How crazy is that? I can't imagine not winning anything this season.

Two more games this week won't be an easy task, no matter who they are playing.

Yeah, so many praises about them...then all of a sudden everything comes crumbling down.

Football is a funny old game. Things can change just like that, so quickly. If Arsenal don't pick themselves up they won't win anything. I feel a bit sorry for them though, what a horribly congested fixture list they have. The FA Cup semi last Saturday, Chelsea last night, Liiverpool this Friday and then Newcastle on Sunday. If I was an Arsenal player I'd want to cry!
