Willa Ford sexysexobsessive

an interview by will caron

Back in 2001, Amanda Williford (aka Willa Ford) took the pop scene by storm with her smash hit “I wanna be bad”, but as quickly as she graced the magazine covers, MTV and the radio airways, she then disappeared just as quick. Well now she is back, but don’t call it a come back because she was never really gone, she has been working on her new album “Sexysexobsessive”. The first single of the new album, “A Toast to Men”, with its catchy chorus, “**** the men, let’s drink to us” is rapidly gaining popularity in the clubs.

Will Caron – So where have you been for the last 2 years?

Willa Ford – It takes time to make a record! There is a difference in artistry. One thing people don’t recognize is that I write all of my own music and I am on all of my production of music. And that is where I have been Working!

WC- You wrote the whole album?

WF - Yes, I wrote this album. How I would start a song is that I would walk in the studio with an emotion that day and just run with it. I pull from everything that is going on with my life and god knows there is enough going on. You can write things all day long. I am 23 now, so relationships are a big issue right now and that is what music is really about. It’s relationships, so it is fun.

WC - Your first single “A toast to men”, is not too guy friendly. Who hurt you?

WF - That is what the record company picked up on and said let’s do this. Allrelationships start off happy, and then they turn sour, then I write songs about that relationship. The whole record is based on this. It’s an emotional roller coaster, but it is wonderful because even though I am going through all these things, I’ve experienced so much more than people my age have. I don’t know, I have had some weirdos. I don’t know, that just may be my taste for right now.

WC - Any truth to the rumors that you are seeing Mike Modano (hockey stud for the Dallas Stars)?

WF - OH GOD! Mike and I have been really quiet on the relationship front.

We found it to be better that way. He is a really private guy. He is a lot older, more mature in a lot of ways, but also immature in a lot of ways (laughs). It’s attractive to me when someone has goals and they work hard for it. You accomplish something and that is why I am attracted to these men who are

extremely successful.

WC - How was your relationship with Nick Carter from the Back Street Boys?

WF - Nick has no ****ing clue in which way he is going.

WC - In the press I see two different Willa Fords. I see one being the girl I could take home to mom and then I see that girl I want to take home and spank. Who is the real Willa?

WF - (laughs) Well, it depends on what day of the week it is. I am the same girl that you can take home to mom, but when I’m not in front of mom you can then spank me.

WC - Are you the original bad girl of pop?

WF - Depends on what you mean by bad. Does this mean I am going to strip off my clothes? No, I don’t feel like that right now. Right now I have a lot to say and I am going to say it now. So if I want to say **** you, **** YOU, if I want to say I love you, I will say I love you. And at different times, I might be in different moods, but by no means am I ever hostile or mean to anyone for no reason. But I will if you mess with my family or come at me. I will tear you a new ass.

WC - You know, I’m almost sorry I asked that question.

WF - That is my personality, I am all of those things and don’t catch me at a bad time (laughs).

WC - Whom, right now, do you listen to that influences you?

WF - Bjork, I like the strange rock aspects. My new stuff is a cross between Evanescence and Madonna vibe. I like weird sounds, weird things. I don’t even turn on the normal radio anymore.

WC - There are only about 5 songs on the radio and they all include P.Diddy.

WF - Yeah, yeah. I wish the whole scene could be reworked and it not be so political. People need to understand if it was not so political there would be no band wagon aspects, one artist selling 10 million records.

WC - Any future tour plans?

WF - I will be touring once the album is out. What type of tour all depends on how well the album does. I would love to do a college tour. That would be awesome. I am a really hard worker and my brain is always thinking of the next best thing. You never know what I am going to do next.

WC - So what’s next?

WF - I have been out in LA and I have been in cahoots with Angelina Jolie’s agent and we have been talking about what I want to do as far as breaking into film. My personality leads me more into doing something else such as film. The album is done and I have the time, so why not..

I am not sure what Nick all did to her because I don't know the details of their relationship...I know they had an on again off again relationship. And I thought they had become friends again that is why I don't understand why she made that comment about him...I mean I know I would never make a comment like that about my friends.
