Anyone know how to convert a .mpeg file into a .mp3 file so I can make a music cd from it?

u can use a microphone and record it while u play it on ur comp w/audacity. u can dl that program for free and then u can convert it to an mp3 using the same program :)

actually mpeg video files ALREADY use mp3 for their embedded audio stream (that's the mpeg standard for audio, which is just included w/ the video as sound)..
there are programs to directly extract the mp3 stream from the video files, but I can't seem to find any right now...
I usually prefer to use CDEx for mp3<->wav format changes.. it's pretty good and FAST too.. (and FREE of course)

I use WinAmp for the mp3 to wav, that works pretty well also.

all i have to do is click on the name and change it to ".mp3" and it converts it self
but i have a mac so that trick may not work for you
