Willa was dropped from her label a long time ago. She recorded the album on her own time and own money in hopes of another label picking her up or Atlantic possibly picking her up again.
Why else would she be able to ditch her first recorded album and redo it? What label would allow that especially if they paid for it?
She was dropped and I wouldn't expect a major label release anytime soon. Either she will release it independantly or won't.
Watch.

I have not heard anything about her being dropped...where did you get that info from? I mean if she scraps an album then she still has to pay her record company back for that album and the one she does release. That is why she can do that. And if she WAS dropped then she would not be doing all these press interviews.

She was dropped from the label that orginally signed her and then got picked up from Lava, and that's when she re did her first album...if that's what you're talking about...

I didn't know she was dropped from her first label. I thought that her contract was bought out by another label because she wasn't getting along with the company. She didn't want to be another Britney. And I never heard of her re-recording her 1st album. But she has said many times that she re-recorded her second album.

How do you know Willa was dropped from her label? I mean with the second album. If you don't, then that is really a mean thing to say.

Willa's first label, RCA, dropped her after she refused to become another Britney lookalike. Lava bought her contract and allowed her to record "Willa Was Here." However, they asked her to change her then stage name, Mandah, for fear of people confusing her with Mandy Moore.
The reason why "Sexysexobsessive" was not released yet is because Lava was bought out by 3 companies who have legal issues and can't agree on anything, and have pushed back all album releases till they sort these issues out. Willa's on the phone with attorneys everyday to have her album released.
She said all of the above in several interviews. Just check any Willa fan site.

Willa isn't with Atlantic anymore, her record company is LAVA and on the official LAVA site she has her own section.

I did not hear anything of her being dropped... There have been some issues going down at the label it self... and alot of people's projects were pushed back.....

That gets me so angry. Yes I've heard that she got dropped also. I mean, I thought she was selling records well her first one. I think a lot of ppl liked it. They shouldn't change her to make her into something that she's not. That just pisses me off. Atlantic Records sucks. She should go to Jive.
