Andre Agassi pulled out of Wimbledon on Tuesday with a hip injury, leaving the tournament without one of the world's most popular players.

The winner of eight Grand Slam titles, including Wimbledon in 1992, Agassi has been in a slump with first-round losses in his last three tournaments.

This is very disappointing. He is one of the most popular players and his name draws crowds, although I don't think Wimbledon really needs much help in popularising itself hehe. I hope he can recover and get back to playing well. Obviously the choice is totally up to him but I wouldn't like him to retire just yet.

Mardy Fish needs to step up and be the next big thing.....so far every legend is retiring (Pete Sampras, Patrick Rafter, Michael Chang)

Yeah, I'd like for Mardy to start doing really well. Roddick has nearly all the pressure on him to be America's big thing.

i'm not the biggest agassi fan, however it's sad that he'll miss out wimbledon!

as for mardy fish (i kinda like the name somehow...lol) i haven't seen him playing that often, therefore i can't really say anything about him. however, muffins right, poor andy has all the pressure on him, that's why it wouldn't be too bad, if there's another us-american top player out there !
