Wow.
He was amazing. Seriously... I think I even liked him more in this show than I did in RENT, and well as many of you know I loooooved him in RENT.
Joey was just an adorably sweet nerd... and his voice sounded absolutely incredible on the songs. Plus he got to be all hammy and silly. He has great comedic timing as well....
I just don't know what else to say.... he was fantastic.
Anyway, on the sillier side of things... I just missed him going in before hand. My one friend was there and called me to say that he said he'd come back out for pictures, but that never did happen. Oh well....
Afterwards, I didn't get a picture either... I tried to take a couple of him, but it was a bit of a mad house, as should be expected.... too many tall people in front of me shoving posters in his face.... grr..
I'm sure I'll be back though, and get a picture with him hopefully, and have him sign my playbill... he's there til January 2nd, so yes, I'm sure I'll be there a bunch more times. Hehe...
There weren't any press people there that I could see, not like his "official opening" in Rent, which was actually later than when he actually started. Although, I did see alot of family and all. Like a few of his friends tht had been interviewed on DRIVEN and his parents were sitting right near me. I saw Kelly there too... and well, just seemed like he had people all over the theatre. No other members of NSYNC though.... although, I was convinced someone important was going to sneak in the 2 empty seats next to me on the aisle. hehe... I mean, it was like 8th row, and other than that the house seemed really full.. so who knows.
Well, that's about it I think...
but yes, anyone coming to NY from now til January 2nd... go see Joey in Little Shop! :)
