Understandably.
I never talked to Mr. Lanie to see how his trip to Germany was. I'm sure it's beautiful there:)
And I'm sure it's very expensive to call from there, so it will be better if she can talk to both you and Mr. Pink in one call.

People who aren't going to appreciate a puppy (whether he be big or small) doesn't get to see him.

Oh gosh...I'm sure he has some stories he could tell;)
There area actually pictures and video of him......
One problem he had was understanding European sizes. He was looking at t-shirts, and the largest size on the table was 104, so that's what he got, since he likes his shirts big. Later in the day, they found other shirts on a table, and the SMALLEST size there was 150! Her had bought a children's shirt, and they have pictures and video of him wearing the shirt he bought, looking like Britney Spears! LMFAO!!!!!
I swear, the nut didn't fall far from the tree!

I prefer bigger dogs too, Katlin.
But little ones can be cool too. Especially when they try to bite your ankles and you boot them across the room. Good fun! Before you all tell PETA on me, I'm just kidding. Not that the thought hasn't crossed my mind...........
Bailey and Cha-Chi are really cute, Sunny!

Yeah, he's a tad obese. If my mom would stop feeding him table scraps(he gets the leftover milk from our cereal every morning), he wouldn't be so gigantic.

We're not really sure actually. We rescued him from a group who specialized in purebread Goldens. The vet thought he was four when we got him and he's been with us for 5 years, so somewhere around 8 or 9.
He is the sweetest dog and he still acts like a puppy sometimes.

Dang y'all ain't gotta diss people's dogs. Pssh. Just cuz they don't weight 50+ pounds. I know y'all didn't mean to be rude, but dogs are family. If you showed someone a picture of your kid and they looked at it and said, "Oh. Mine's better." you'd be offended, I'm sure. You expect people to come tell you how cute your dog is (which he is, by the way--that picture NEEDS to go to Ellen; I'd bet money she'd show it on air), at least show them the same courtesy. That's way harsh. Small dogs rock. Big dogs rock, too. Dogs rock. And I have yet to see one that wasn't adorable.
Sorry if I sound mean! lol I'm way too sensitive when it comes to dogs. I know this and yet it doesn't stop me;) Dogs are like the only living creatures that can be depended on, though, and I always want to stick up for them. I still write to Stephen King occasionally and tell him that the mom in Cujo was totally over-reacting...
For the record, Nix, Brinkley, seriously, freakin' precious. You don't see many like him around. Or I don't, lol. People like big dogs around here. I have Hal and the lady down the hall has a chihuaha or however it's spelled. Other than that, it's all labs and stuff. Which I adore and are gorgeous, but you see so many of them. It's refreshing to come home and have Hal hop in my lap, lol.

And Lois..the point of the thread was not me "expecting for people to tell me how cute my dog is". That's vain. It was funny, I shared. End of story.

I have a cute story(at least I think it's cute):
My Dog sleeps on the tile by our front door, so I can easily hear his bark from my room. Well, my mom discovered when I was home for Christmas that if I was awake and downstairs when she came home for lunch, he'd bark. If I was still upstairs when she came home, he'd stay quiet. He knows I like my sleep;)
And he doesn't do this anymore, but if I would stay up late and be the last one awake in the house, he'd follow me up the stairs when I went to bed. Good guard dog:D
Katlin
Jul 2nd, 2004, 12:30 AM

I've been awakened the last two days with a puppy in my face, but I don't mind. Mom knows I won't yell at her if she comes in with the dog.

But whatever.

i dont think anyones comments in here were in any way a direct diss to another persons dog. its just everyones personal preference. i think people have been really rude to katlin when shes only sharing some cute pics of her new puppy. we've all heard all about cha chi and her cuteness (which she is by the way). no one made any personal attack on small dogs. they are cute. i didnt get to see brinkley but im sure he was cute too.
and my dog gracie is a terrior shulte mix, and she should be a small dog. shes about 80 lbs. shes fat. obease. lou pearlman kinda large.
but goodness people. be nice its only pets!! everyone has preferences. its the difference between Chris and Justin. some people are chris people, some are justinpeople. some are big dog people some are small dog people.
i personally am all for SOMEONE ELSES dog, so i can leave and not keep them.

I know that not everyone is going to think everyone's dog is cute. I guess what Lanie said just kinda hurt. The whole "I prefer my big dog thankyouverymuch" was a little rude. Dogs are like part of the family, so when someone says something like that, it hurts. It's like saying "Oh I like your sister better than you, thanks".
I found it rude and in poor taste. So what? It's how I (and another person) saw it. I would have never said something like that to someone else.
And it's not even and issue about big or little dogs, because I have (my parents, whatever I grew up w/ beethoven (the bigger dog)) a little dog AND a big dog. So that's besides the point.
Ok, I just had to say that. People need to get over the fact that I took it the way I did, because it's how I took it and I can't help it. He's part of the family.
Katlin
Jul 2nd, 2004, 01:54 PM
That's fine. You're entitled to your opinion of what's rude and what's not.
But what you've got to realize is, no one criticized your dog. No one was rude and said something crazy like "OMG, look how ugly"! I guess you're just upset at the lack of any comment at all. Lanie and I meant no harm.
So again, I apologize, but we're looking at things totally differently.
Sunfire

I'm not saying that anyone criticized my dog. I probably would rather have had that, than people ignore it and made a snide comment. Like I said, I thought it was really rude.

Thank you Katlin.
Look, I meant no harm with that comment like Katlin said. Maybe I shouldn't have worded it that way, but I honestly didn't think it was rude or offensive. I have nothing against small dogs but, as I said in a previous post I've been raised around large dogs. My aunt had a Golden when I was young, and my family has had one since I was 14. I just happen to love that breed of dog.
